Celiac Disease?

Hey guys. So I have a few questions. I haven't been diagnosed with anything or even seen my Dr yet, but I'm kinda thinking I have this disease. I'm doing my own research since my Dr kinda just shrugs off all of my concerns. I just need her for the referral lol. Anyways, I'm hoping you guys will be able to share your opinions with me on wether or not you think this is Celiac.

About 3 months ago I started getting terrible cramps every few nights after dinner. I'd be completely fine all day, then suddenly 20 minutes or so after dinner my stomach would just go nuts. At first I thought I was having really bad luck and just eating under cooked meats so I skipped meat a few nights and it still happens. Ever since I can remember I've had sort of an intolerance to gluten(?).. pasta, potatos, rice, bagels, muffins and pizza. In the middle of eating those things my throat just swells up and I have to take short shallow breaths but I don't freak out cause I'm use to it. I wake up at 7 and am ready for a nap by 9. I often dread eating because I know that it'll make me sluggish right away. My stomach constantly makes really loud gurgly noises even when it's not cramping and it's really embarassing.

btw I'm a 24 yr old female.

Please help me with this!

hun, if your throat swells up, that is an allergic reaction. That is not normal and can be life threatening.

Hi, I don't know if you have celiac, you really need to ask for blood tests but make sure youre still eating gluten.

With regards to the throat swelling...I get that from my levothyroxine medication, milk and cheese..so looks like an allergic reaction for me with lactose or something which I'm getting checked out.

You need to see your doctor. Good luck

The throat swelling only lasts for no more than 45 seconds at a time and It's really been happening forever so I've never taken it seriously. I will see my doc about that but I was really to hear something about the random stomach crazies. They jist came out of nowhere and it only ever happens late in the evening with sudden onset of serious serious cramps.

Hi Camanda,

Digestive symptoms can be pretty erratic with celiac disease. You may have celiac or some other condition. If you are going to get tested please keep eating gluten as you normally would until the testing is completed. After the testing you can try the gluten-free diet and see if your symptoms improve.

Is it food getting stuck in your throat? Is it difficult to swallow?

Get an appointment with a gastroenterologist. Unfortunately Celiac Disease and Eosinophilic Esophagitus present with a lot of the same tummy troubles. There is also a connection for an individual to have both disorders. Both would require an endoscopy with biopsy for diagnoses. (start with the Celiac panel blood tests)

But M&M's contain milk, and would not be at all like a Tootsie Roll.

I appreciate you validating me because medical is an issue and it's not ok at all they they do this. Some days I just want to call the news media and just call out these doctors especially when they are supposed to be specialist Downplaying when gluten-free when they should know gluten-free is false negative. Now dealing with other issues and still crickets for disability because I show no signs of celiac BECAUSE IM GLUTENFREE! Actively dealing with sibo and skin issues.Depression is the key because thats all they know, im depressed because medical has caused it because of my celiac and related issues. I should have never ever been employed as a bus driver. After 3 years still healing and ZERO income desperately trying to get better but no careteam for celiac other than stay away frim wheat! Now im having care because my head is affected either ms or meningioma in go in tomorrow again for more scans.I know im slowly dying and im looking like a disability chaser

M&M Peanuts. About the same calories and sugar while M&M Peanuts have fiber, potassium, iron and protein that Tootsie Rolls ("We are currently producing more than 50 million Tootsie Rolls each day.") don't. Click the links to compare nutritional values.  Both are made with sugar, not high fructose corn syrup.  I use them as a gluten free substitute for a peanut butter sandwich.  Try her on grass fed, pasture fed milk. While I get heartburn at night from commercial dairy milk, I do not from 'grassmilk'.

I see it everyday on my feeds.  They go out and buy gluten-free processed products and wonder why they can't heal their guts.  I don't think they take it as a serious immune disease. They pick up things off the internet which is so far out in left field.  Some days I would just like to scream.  So much better when we had support groups and being able to teach them properly. I just had an EMA blood test because I haven't had one since my Doctor moved away.  Got test results today, doctor ordered a D3 vitamin test.  Now you know what  type of doctors we have.  Now I will have to pay for this test because she just tested my D3 end of December, and still have no idea about my EMA.
