Codeine actually gives me a headache that's more severe than any pain i woiuld be taking it for, crazy huh? I found out 9 years back when i had my wisdom teeth out and they gave me aspirin w/codeine and every time i took it i was nauseated and received a horrible teeth clenching headache. -
Okay, i have to admit that i'm about to Bit** so if your not in the mood...now is your Q to move on!! I love my DH but lately i'm sooo annoyed at the fact that all he ever talks about in front of me is how much his fat butt (not really fat though) could go for a pizza, or a big sub, or chinese take out, or whatever the heck he's thinking about at that...

ARCHIVED Please Help My Poor Stomach
IrishKelly replied to Mahee34's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Ohhhh...maybe that's why rootbeer is on that list i read from. So, it's not the gluten but possibly some sort of flavoring?? Wow, that's pretty interesting! -
ARCHIVED Please Help My Poor Stomach
IrishKelly replied to Mahee34's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
OH YES, Most definitely the root beer!! It's on the "Do Not Consume" list unless you find/order certain ones that are definitely gluten-free, i'm almost absolutely positive Barqs has lots of gluten! Go to this website www.csaceliacs.org and i believe you may find a list of foods and drinks not to consume. -

How long did it take for the d to go away?...i'm curious because i'm still patientlly waiting. -
YEP...i agree with this. Just try to hang in there with plain soft cooked meats (like boiled chicken), soft cooked veggies and fruit, and then when things are all healed you should be able to re-introduce the others slowly back in, i'm going through this with you right now, and yes, IT SUCKS!! But, if we all hang in there together, we will all be able to...

ARCHIVED Confused
IrishKelly replied to clockworkjoce's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I have insurance and the only test my holistic dr. gave me was the blood test which came back negative...and before he gave me the blood test he told me it could come back negative but that didn't mean that i didn't have a glutent intolerance. If you ask most of us on here, you will see that the absolute best test is by trying the diet, and if you have a... -

IrishKelly replied to DBRIDGEVEGAS's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Oh yes, i would bet a hundred bucks this is a gas problem...i went through this myself, sometimes it hurts, sometimes is a numbing/tickling feeling...hang in there, it will get better! -
I hear ya, when i get glutened i feel like a big gray shadow consumes me for a couple of days...i get so gloomy and sad, and i don't want to go anywhere. I try to remember it's from gluten but sometimes it's just hard, and then i feel bad for my kids!

Do your sysmptoms include lots of gas?...then i would go with the beans...that's waht happened to me the other day! Otherwise, maybe it is the legumes.

ARCHIVED Could Pregnancy Have "triggered" Celiac?
IrishKelly replied to maddycat's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
This is what just happened to me as well. My daughter (my second child) was just born 7 months ago. During my last trimester with her i became gravely ill...and it started to get worse again after she was born. I lost 30 pounds (not on purpose) within the first three months after giving birth to her...and boy did i get tired of everyone telling me "how... -
ARCHIVED Pregnancy Causing Intestinal Symptoms?
IrishKelly replied to a topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Oh yes, the lack of energy was probably, if not, the worst part...and also my second was worse and i had a three 1/2 year old running around myself. I could've slept all day everyday, and i thought it was just because of the pregnancies, but now i realize it would've been a little better if i had known to be avoiding gluten the whole time. -
ARCHIVED Pregnancy Causing Intestinal Symptoms?
IrishKelly replied to a topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I actually found out i had a glutent intolerance because of my last pregnancy...it kicked in my symptoms really bad...especially in my third trimester. After giving birth it wouldn't let up and then 4 months later my doc told me it was a glutent problem. I will say though, with my first i had problems with D only in the first trimester...you really just... -

ARCHIVED How Many Months After Starting Diet Did It Take You?
IrishKelly posted a topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I would like to start a research poll for the newbies on here. I'm curious as to how many months of a gluten-free diet it took until some of us started to feel better? I know the first couple weeks i used to get a little paranoid wondering if this "d" would actually ever go away. I'm 3 months in (still a newbie) and i still sometimes experience "d" and...
