  1. Hhmmmm...maybe i could try buttermilk w/cornstarch. I'll have to do a trial run before thanksgiving. I heard on here that Progresso's creamy mushroom soup might me gluten free...but i'm not sure about lactose. I think i can have butter and buttermilk, but not milk, cheese, ice cream, etc... Anyway, thanks for the idea.
  2. Yep, me too ...mine has gotten much better after a few months of a gluten-free and df diet, i found out the dairy (lactose i believe) was causing most of that, so if your not df you may want to try it out!
  3. ...this is my only Thanksgiving dilemma! Any suggestions?
  4. Yah, the gas thing really stinks (literally ). After being on the diet for 4 months it has gotten much better though, except i still have it alot at night
  5. Sounds like you need to extend your driving if at all possible to a GI dr. farther away, or do a search on a celiacs specialist in your area
  6. I've actually been thinking the about doing this myself, especially my GI Dr., only because i would like to save others from this horrible nightmare. The worst part about him was that he said to me, "there is something out there called Celiac's disease but you don't seem to qualify for that, so i'm not going to test you for that"...what an idiot! Anyway...
  7. LOL, LOL, LOL...this happens to me everyday...i'm glad to see someone else post this
  8. Oh My Goodness, YES!! This is why the GI Dr. (who was way off) tried telling me i might have a bacterial infection, and then he tried telling me it was ulcerative colitis...just know it will begin to heal once you've been on a gluten free diet for a few months, it starts to heal immediately following a gluten free diet but sometimes seeing the results takes...
  9. I'm not sure if you know this, but just in case...i myself don't "qualify" for straight celiac's disease, but i have a gluten intolerance. I've never had hives, rashes, mouth blisters (although i've had the occasional canker sores if that's the same thing) etc... but i have had headaches, brain fog, leg cramps, major diarrhea, "colitis like" problems, etc...
  10. I did not know butter didn't have lactose in it!! Why is that? Why buttermilk too?
  11. First off, he more than likely got it from his mother becuase it is hereditary (mine came from my dad), and the more you look at people on here and their diagnosis you will see that tons of family members also have it. The thyroid, arthritis, and IBS are all associated with this glutent problem as well, so his mom will probably end up on the same diet. ...
  12. OH YES!! First an actual GI DR. (so much for him knowing about the GI tract) told me it was "IBS from stress", then it was "HHmmmmmmmmmm...i think you have a bacterial infection", then it was "i think you have ulcerative colitis", then i went to a different Dr. who said "it's just your whole GI tract because it starts with heartburn and ends with d" (i was...
  13. Does it come out really skinny at times?? That happens to me and i've been wanting to ask someone on here ...boy am i glad you started this
  14. Mmmmm, can i have this recipe? I need to try something different so it would be greatly appreciated.
  15. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! I just want to ring Dr's necks at times, yes, YOU HAVE A GLUTEN PROBLEM!! Those are ALL symptoms of a gluten problem!
  16. Very good...but i wish it would've been alot longer, i feel like there were so many other symptoms they could've mentioned. But, i am super thankful they did a segment on us
  17. I tried making these 2 days ago and the egg replace i used sucked!! Do you use regular eggs when making these? If not, how do you make them??
  18. Would that be 5:30 Chicago time, i have to watch this!
  19. I get the same way if i'm glutened, i feel cold achy flu like symptoms, heartburn, burpy, nauseous, etc... and guess what, my dr. said he know that i'm gluten intolerable just from the obvious reaction, so you don't actually need a positive test to tell you that! Oh, bye the way, i'm sooooooooo jealous that you ate chinese...but not enough to do it myself
  20. You should go to www.amazon .com they have awesome deals and alot of time they have shipping discounts
  21. I hope it wasn't Robitussin CF...not to scare you, but i resceived the following message from a friend today: DRUG RECALL INFORMATION This is not new but very important All drugs containing PHENYLPROPANOLAMINE are being recalled. You may want to try calling the 800 number listed on most drug boxes and inquire about a REFUND Please read this CAREFULLY...
  22. Wow, that's ironic because last night i made home made burgers in the frying pan and about 1-2 hours later i felt like i could throw up a grease ball or something...i kept burping and got gassy when i went to bed. I will say i haven't been on a very fatty diet the past few months, and i usually grill the burgers instead of pan frying them (but it was raining...
  23. LOL...that's too funny! It's such a damn shame that the people we trust and count on the most seem to hurt and let us down the most
  24. Oh yes, i thought i had an ulcer going on (to accomidate my everyday horrible heartburn of course, i was on Prevacid for it) before my d actually kicked in and explained what was going on.
