  1. First off, I don't sit a stage of panic anymore because i've now realized other people truly have these same issues...i'm not just crazy!! Second, i've learned through this board about my dairy problem...which i would still have now if it wasn't for all of you out there! Lastly, besides tons of support i've gotten alot of great recipes
  2. Do all of these intolerances have the same effect on you?
  3. Ahhhhhhhhh...that makes sense to me! The gluten/dairy free bread i buy has a tiny amount of eggs in it and it never bothers me, but the regular eggs seem to bother me. Does anything else bother you? Thanks for your help!!
  4. I had two very plain scrambled eggs (no milk or anything) yesterday and today i have intestinal gas like something is alive in me. Does this make sense to anyone? I know besides gluten, dairy really gives me intestinal gas...but what about eggs??
  5. Sometimes McDonalds fries can make us sick if they fried nuggets or fish in the same oil as the fries...and you also never know how well they cleaned the fryers before reusing them for the next day, so there can still be traces of gluten in them that way too. If i want fries i use my "fry daddy" at home with my own store bought frozen bag of shoestring fries...
  6. Thanks...i never could get the gravy right!
  7. What kinds of vinegars are not okay? What are some examples of flavored vinegars or malt vinegars?
  8. Sorry about that...my typing was in bold...the other info was something i copied and pasted from the gluten free forum.
  9. Thanks guys! I also found the following information on this website which seemed to also explain alot. Oh, and before i post that info...did anyone see that there was just a huge CNN newsclip about an hour ago regarding an ECOLI OUTBREAK in many of the U.S. states from bagged spinach? Some of the states included Indiana, Wisconsin, Oregon, Connecticut...
  10. I need some advice. Today i went for a drug test for a new job in human resources at Fed Ex...i was so excited...until the unthinkable happened!! On the way I had to pull over at white castles (how ironic, huh?) and BARELY make it to the bathroom. Then when i arrived i started shivering violently, my fingers were going numb, my ears were burning, and...
  11. Yep, i sent a letter too! Hopefully most of us here can take the time to send a letter...even if it's a quick one
  12. Turkey Scaloppine 1 pound turkey breast cutlets or slices 3 tablespoons gluten free all purpose baking flour salt and pepper to taste 3 teaspoons olive oil, divided ¼ cup water ¼ cup white wine or chicken broth 1 tablespoon butter/margarine (or soy butter/vegan margarine) 2 large cloves garlic finely chopped 2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh sage (...
  13. I can't seem to find it! Nevermind...guess i should've looked a little harder
  14. Any suggestions on what to serve family members at my sons gluten-free/df birthday party? Tired of the burgers and hot dogs. We only have a taco dip and pasta salad on the menu so far...HELP!
  15. Oh Yes!! This didn't get better until i was gluten free for at least one month. Hang in there!!
  16. No problem...i also forgot to say place the sour cream topping and the chopped fresh cilantro on top of it before serving...ohhhhh what a long day it's been!!
  17. Another good and easy gluten-free/df meal: Salsa Chicken Over Rice 2 cups cooked white or brown rice 1 tablespoon olive or vegetable oil 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts 1 medium chopped onion 1 small red bell pepper 1 cup chunky salsa ½ cup shredded Mexican blend or cheddar cheese (optional) Tofutti sour cream topping Fresh ...
  18. This is a very good/easy teriyaki sauce, i remember somebody asking if there was a gluten-free teriyaki sauce out there...well in the meantime i found this great recipe! Teriyaki Sauce Mary Ellen Bramwell 1/2 cup cold water 1/2 cup soy sauce 1/3 cup brown sugar 1 clove garlic, minced 2 Tbsp cornstarch In a small saucepan, mix water, soy...
  19. Well first off, since the tests are very likely to come back negative...if you really want to try it you may want to eat as much glutent as possible to try and get better results...which still didn't work for me through bloodwork by the way! Anyway, as far as gluten is overall concerned..the onoy thing a gluten free diet would do to ANYONE (gluten allergies...

    ARCHIVED Eerrrrrrrrrrrrr!

OH SISTER...let me tell ya...i kindly left out the sweating, panick attacks, fatty and floating stools, bouts of chest pain, cold spells, always hungry, constipated when no diarrhea, no sex drive (my poor hubby ), white spots on nails, heag fogginess, and lactose intolerant. YOU HAVE A GLUTENT PROBLEM whether any Dr. wants to tell you it's true or not!...

    ARCHIVED Eerrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I completely agree with this. Alot of times they want to do the MRI because of the headaches, and i had my thyroid tested prior to being gluten free because of my irregular menstrual cycles...and low and behold my thyroid was fine...too many dr.'s out there not adding up all of the sypmtoms. I also saw a well reputable GI dr. in my area who claimed my...
  22. I'm in Crown Point, about 45 minutes south of Chicago...i actually moved out here from South Chicago Suburbs about 5 years ago. And no, i played for 12 years and eventually gave it up in college...which was soooo dumb because i was first chair for so many years. When i got married almost 6 years back i hired a really good flute and piano player for my wedding...
  23. I know that 8th continent soy milk is definitely gluten-free...as for rice milk, i refuse to try it since it does say on the back label that it's made with barley! You can always call any of those companies and ask them or simply search for a website online that may have there info, i always start off online and then usually end up calling anyway for a restfull...
  24. I agree that you will be so much better in the long run (celians or not) with eating healthier...just think...one day you'll want to get married and you won't have to lose those "extra pounds" to fit into your favorite wedding dress...one day you just might have children and you won't have to worry about shedding those "extra pregnancy pounds"...just remember...
  25. Glad to hear there's another flute player here
