  1. So, those of you who read on this topic before, i got the job!! For those of you who have no idea what i'm talking about i'll fill you in. I had an interview a few weeks back for a really good job at Federal Express in human resources doing their interviewing, hiring, conducting orientation, etc... Anyway, when i was sent for my drug test (which of course...
  2. You should try doing a search about corn on this site...many many people are also corn free around here...hope this helps
  3. If baby is gluten intolerant, yes mom will have to be completely gluten-free if she wants to breastfeed. I was just telling someone on here earlier how my neighbor's baby had a horrible reaction that caused him to end up in the ER at the hospital, because the mom didn't know that he had a wheat allergy and she was eating all kinds of wheat/gluten while she...
  4. Hopefully the baby won't have any celiac genes in him/her. It's so amazing how people (like husbands of course) can take the simplest things for granted!! When i don't cook dinner my husband will cook for himself and possibly my son...so i understand!
  5. ABSOLUTELY YES... my neigbor's baby had a horrible reaction when she was nursing him due to her gluten intake. (she does not have a wheat allergy but her baby does) Beware!!
  6. I still use my grandma's apple stuffing recipe, i just switched the bread to kinickinick (or however you spell that) italian or white bread: 2 medium-large red apples chopped (they have to be red because of the flavor) 1 large yellow or white onion chopped 4 ribs celery chopped (excluding stems & leaves of course) 1/2 loaf of kinickinick bread cut...
  7. The only thing this would naturally mean to me, would be lack of dairy. I had this same problem after my son was born 5 years ago. I couldn't tolerate milk when i was pregnant...it would give me horrible burning stomach pains and then i would throw it up...ewwwwww...yuck!! Anyway, the day he was born i remember literally smuggling and drinking carton of...
  8. Yep, i started to become very irregular (like i would go anywhere from 2-5 months without getting it) around the age of 21. When my husband and i wanted to plan our second child it took us almost a year to conceive her...but i have recently found that this was all linked to my body being low in vitamins. I recently remembered that once i started to take...
  9. Peanut Butter-Jelly Cookies 1 cup sugar 1 tsp. baking soda ½ tsp. vanilla 1 large egg 1cup peanut butter 1 cup favorite jelly/jam Mix together sugar, baking soda, peanut butter, egg and vanilla. Mix until smooth. Refrigerate dough about 30 minutes. Scoop dough onto greased baking sheet, use thumb to press down the center of each cooked ...
  10. HANG IN THERE!! Trust me, if you view any of my posts from four months ago when i started the diet you will see these were my same concerns, just like everyone else. I used to sometimes cry because i felt like my poor kids were being held hostage in the house with a crabby mom!! On another note, everyone has a different amount of time before they start...
  11. Yes, I too tend to stick with one cup of hot tea in the morning. Even people without a gluten problem have coffee issues...if you start to ask around others who can tolerate gluten, you will see that a majority of them cannot handle coffee very well. If my father-in-law (who pretty much has an iron stomach) even smells coffee brewing it send him off to...
  12. Yes, so true. I just feel like my in-laws aill get mad again...you know what i mean? - I guess i can't please the world!
  13. Hey there from one Chicagoland to another . How long have you been on the diet? It took me four months to see a huge improvement in my achy ness and horrible abdomial pains (just like you said about the aftermath of doing sit ups ). Hang in there...it will get better! On another note, if you have loved ones in your life, whether it be family or...
  14. Yep, same here in the southeast Chicago suburbs
  15. Hi, if you go to the "view net posts" and look on page 2 or 3 find the topic titled Could Pregnancy Have "triggered" Celiac? This will answer alot of your questions and give you lots of support
  16. Oh Wow, I always wondered what the circumstances and qualifications were in Canada regarding seeing the dr's...since we have health insurance circumstances here i can see how things are very different now. I would definitely just start the diet then...that IS THE BEST TEST available anyway, i bet he'll start feeling better within a couple weeks...but for...
  17. Those are some great tips, my only issue now is that i would like to have Thanksgiving at my house, but i know my in-laws won't let me do that...every holiday HAS to be at there house...it really sucks!! I just feel if i could have Thanksgiving at my house they can have every other Holiday at there house, i think that sounds being over fair on my part if...
  18. I just made these and they are soooooooooo good Banana Muffins To make 6-8 muffins (double the following if necessary): 1 Egg ½ cup Vanilla Soy Milk 2 Tablespoons White Sugar 1 Tablespoon Brown Sugar 2 Tablespoons Oil (canola or vegetable) 1 cup White Rice Flour 1 large over ripe mashed Banana 2 Teaspoons Baking Powder ½ ...
  19. Yes, i understood what you meant by the dr's not wanting to take him...i was just hoping that maybe if you went further away and started fresh with a brand new dr., but i'm not quite sure if you need a referral where you live or not. Can you start all over again? If so, that's what i would do! It sounds like he needs to find a new dr. that will listen...
  20. YEP, i hear ya, the exact same scenario here!! By time a good dr. told me it was a gluten sensitivity problem i immediately went off the gluten just so i could actually get better, forget those stupid "i need reassurance invasive tests", i did take the blood test before starting the diet though and it still came back negative which the dr. had already told...
  21. I'm not sure! I know i can't handle the lactose, it gives my horrible gas pains, so last night i tried butter because someone on here said it was lactose free...but within a couple hours i had that gas again
  22. LOL, We really just want some reassurance from them but they're so tired of us constantly talking about it!! If the tables were turned just imagine how they would feel
  23. Oh Thank Goodness to hear that it really truly does get better...some of us newbies are still nervous that it won't .
  24. LOL, LOL, LOL...my hubby is soooo tired of me telling him about my poops for the past many months too !! And yes, the chili thing sounds right to me, after 4 months i still cannot eat beans, but i'm pretty sure within the next 1 & 1/2 years i should be able to again. We have to let our intestines heal before eating things that normal people cannot...
