  3. No, I really am having an old friend for dinner. With some fava beans and a nice Chianti.
  4. What happened to me tonight just goes to show that you CANNOT be too careful. Came home really tired and hungry and started to make spanish rice and taco meat. Grabbed the package of "corn" tortillas from the fridge and melted some cheese on them. Just about to start piling the stuff on when my husband says, "Those are NOT corn tortillas, they're flour."...

  7. Hi Valerie- I just wanted to add my welcome to you! You will start to feel better and that a lot of your symptoms will subside gradually (like the nausea, and some of the joint pain). For pizza, I love Chebe. It's npt your typical pizza crust. It is actually based on a portugese cheese bread, but I LOVE it! I also like Kinninck and Jillian's pre-made crust...
  8. Maurice- First of all Welcome! I'm sorry that this happened to you. The learning curve on the diet can seem brutal at first. I got glutened by Tropicnana lemonade 6 months into the diet....now I ask you, what is wheat doing in lemonade? Ugh! It's a lot of reading labels, research etc. but I bet you will start to feel better once you get rid of those spices...
  9. Thanks Sweet fudge- great name! I thought of some more: Shepherd's pie with beef, corn and mashed potatoes. I mix cheddar cheese into the potatoes and then sprinle some on the top. Lay's potato chips (plain) chicken rice soup French-canadian meat stuffing (1 lb ground pork, 1 lb ground beef, Bell's seasoning, salt and pepper) salmon baked with...

  13. I had dinner last night with my sister in law at Chianti on Cabot St in Beverly MA and it was FANTASTIC. I called ahead and spoke to the owner Richard who told me that there were several gluten-free options on the menu, but that they also make zucchilini which is a pasta made from pure zucchini. He told me he'd let me try some even if I decided to order something...

  17. Rinne- That was so well said. As I'm going over all my symptoms anf their "explanations" I think that I had always tended to be anxious and have a tender tummy, but when I had my severe meltdown it LITERALLY seemed to come out of nowhere. I still get the urge to run away or "get out of my body" when I get glutened and it is one of sheer panic. No one...
