Oh c'mon...I can chaperone -
Hi Monica- This is my primary symptom when I've been glutened. I just feel like I'm gonna lose my cookies (and I usually do). i have reflux too so I think that plays into it as well. Honestly, you've got to STOP using shampoo with wheat in it. There are tons of brands without gluten. In my shower right now I have Neutrogena shampoo and conditioner with...

Niki and Kaycee- I'm so sorry about Felix and Mintie. It's so hard to lose a fur friend. I had my first cat for 16 years...her name was Popcorn. And when she passed, we all lost a family member. You could carry her around like a handbag too and she'd purr away. It wasn't LIKE losing a family member, it WAS losing a member of your family. My hugs...

Hi Liz- Honestly, I've NEVER met a pit bull I didn't like! That video was heart wrenching but I think it's all true. Like they say, there are no bad dogs, only bad owners. My sister has a 4 year old, UNFIXED purebred doberman. When she walks him, people are afraid. Some will literally cross the street to avoid them. But he's just a BIG baby! He thinks...

That is SO cute (really!). Yes- talking to someone was unbelievably emotional. Imagine if we ALL got together in a room. God- we would laugh, cry. I can't even imagine how intense it would be! Rachel- as far as whether or nor Fibromyalgia is real, I'm not sure what I believe. I think that there IS a definition of it. If I remember correctly the... -

Tough titties for your teachers. I teach (high school and now college) and it really makes me angry when teachers don't understand extenuating circumstances. I had one professor... -

ARCHIVED Is It Possible To Have More Mood Symptoms?
Mtndog replied to Anise's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I was EXTREMELY lactose intolerant before I went gluten-free. I am HAPPY to report I can now tolerate lactose in moderate amounts. But somehow in all this I realized I am legume intolerant (peanuts, soy and most beans). Don't really care much about that but I REALLY miss Reese's penaut butter cups Maybe some day. -

ARCHIVED Is It Possible To Have More Mood Symptoms?
Mtndog replied to Anise's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Anise- I said it that way because last night I was too tired to elaborate. I'd be happy to share with you. Basically, when my blood work came back "borderline" I decided to go gluten-free (didn't know you had to be ON gluten for the endoscopy). So by the time I got to GI #2 who decided to do the biopsy, I had to do a gluten challenge after being gluten free... -
ARCHIVED As News Gets Out...i Have Celiac Disease
Mtndog replied to Lisa's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
That is really LAME. Why would you do that? Would someone do that with a glass of wine to an alcoholic? NO. I'd be really mad. Actually, I am mad for you And I'm sorry. maybe it will get better. On the bright side, I had a student tell me tonight his grandfather, who is 80, was just diagnosed so his daughters have begun brewing him gluten-free... -
ARCHIVED Is It Possible To Have More Mood Symptoms?
Mtndog replied to Anise's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
In my opinion, if Enterolab was positive and I had to pay that much money for a biopsy, I'd go gluten-free. My bloodwork was borderline positive, I regret my endoscopy (I can elaborate later if you want but it was negative) and gluten DEFINITELY causes mood symptoms in me and MANY of us on the board. In some cases, people have no GI symptoms at all and have... -
ARCHIVED Trader Joe's Handcrafted Chicken And Cheese Tamales
Mtndog posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I've eaten them several times in the past few weeks because I am working late and because there are no gluten ingredients listed on the label and it doesn't have their warning about the facility processing wheat, etc. I have two questions (well, maybe 3): 1. Do they contain gluten? 2. The ingredients list pimentos which are supposedly a pepper. Is there... -

This is OBSCENE. What an arse... I am SO SO SO sorry that you had to go through this. What a jerk! Talk about the god complex. I have to be honest, every male GI I've ever met has been the same way. I now have a FEMALE GI and it has made ALL the difference in the world. Evie- Sweetie, I had C Diff over the summer and it was miserable. I'm so sorry... -
