  1. Absolutely- a cure for that would be incredible (EpiPen does NOT count as a cure- that's for sure!)
  2. Ursula- I've been thinking a lot about you lately because my fibro symptoms have ben through the roof. Given your limited diet, I was wondering if you could give me a sample of what you eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. I'm interested into looking further into this.
  3. I thank all of you. Armetta for getting the ball rolling even when she felt yucky, Lisa and Laura- for compilig everything. If they get this I am so flying down to Lou-ville for thaat week.
  4. letters for lynne- good letters for lynne- priceless!
  5. Jaten- You crack me up and now you won't have to worry about gall bladder attacks either since we are both gluten and gall bladder free! Actually- do you think that there will ever be a day when there is a chain of gluten-free restaurants?
  6. I think it's like Siberiacally (like when you're really cold- you're Siberia cold!) Rinne- Supercool about the baby! It's so cool it's Siberia cool. Yes- Richard and i suspect our mojos have run away together (we think we were twins seperated at birth- I was adopted so it's possible). We suspect they have gone on a vacation somewhere tropical. Like...
  7. i'm so glad you found out and that you're starting to feel better! Yeah! I think most of us figured out the other intolerances by elimination. Some have also been tested by Enterolab (they test for intolerances to just about anything you can think of!). My doctor told me that it's best if you eliminate dairy for the first six months after your diagnosis...
  8. Glad you're feeling a bit better. Rest up, eat healthy so you can enjoy the holiday!
  9. no, no. I followed your link! that would have been weird And at least I'm not a McD's chicken McNuggets turkey (uhmm...chicken I guess) with the extra oversized breasts (ever seen Super Size Me? ). Then again, hmmm.... Then I'd need the Wonder Butt Bra for more than my butt!
  10. OMG- too funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. I shot the turkey and then I felt bad. Very sensitive these days. Open Original Shared Link the mermaid is my favorite...a troika!!!!!!!!!! What the heck is that or do I not even want to know. can we just bump December 22nd up to November 22nd (tomorrow) maybe that would cheer me up! And I'm not talking about the O in Overstock.com
  12. Hi y'all- Drive by hello. I just haven't been able to keep up with the thread (tired- my mojo went wherever Richard's did- hope they're having fun!) But, I heard that you were wondering where I'd been (hope the dingos were not sent out) So,...... I wanted to pop (or should I say poop in my case!) in and say hello and wish everyone peace love and wubs...
  13. i decided that I was getting information overload on that thread and that I needed a break to think things out for myself. I still love everybody and will pop in to say hi. 16. Oh how I have missed this thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Herre's something EVERYONE can enjoy: As if you needed an excuse... Open Original Shared Link Maybe we can do one for celiacs after we do one for peace! Richard- My long lost bro...where you been?
  17. Wow! What an amazing amount of info on here. Sophie- that post was EXCEPTIONAL!!!!!! I often wonder (no family history to fall back on as I was adopted) if my first bout with severe depression and anxiety in 1989 was gluten related as were my other two episodes. I have always been clumsy (you should see me when I'm glutened- I'm a flippin train wreck-...
  18. I pretty much agree with Jillian- Like Ursula said, I would continue on my merry gluten-free way. I don't think I could EVER convince myself that a pill was really a "cure". But I would love something I could take before eating out, dining at friend's places etc so that I wouldn't get sick for days. I might occasionally splurge (Chinese food on New Year...
  19. They would have to list soy as it is a major allergen that the FDA requires they divulge. But you might want to call and find out about the natural flavors (for rye, barley and oats). I tend to think it's safe, but call to double-check. Happy Turkey!
  20. Maybe that's the problem....maybe her customers weren't fully gluten-free yet! Then again, you see all those rude customers who don't have celiacs anyway. I just thought I'd put it out there, because if you want to educate someone, it's best not to "school" them.
  21. I know, it's crazy the things we have to watch for, but there is one litter (I think it's called Schweat) that is made from wheat. I cringe everytime I see it in the store!
  22. I was curious because a friend once recommended this tea to me for constipation (it has senna) and it worked GREAT but that was before I was gluten-free and I can't verify. Anyone know for sure?
  23. Hi Donna- Yeah, it was great but no snow yet! I won $200 in gift certificates so my sis and I went up for my birthday!
  24. Yum!!!!! My MIL makes quite a gluten-free feast (she's so good) and I am making French-Canadian meat stuffing, thinking about roasted chestnut stuffing (never made it, sounds intiguing) and pumpkin cheesecake. Mmmmm cheesecake! I know, last year was my first gluten free Thanksgiving. Wow... people are going to read this an=d go "how the heck did...
  25. Hi Everyone- I hope people take this the right way, but I have been surprised by the experiences some people have had with dining out and servers. Maybe I have had really good luck, but I was talking to a server this weekend and she told me that she has encountered many defensive/angry celiac's. I was really surprised to hear this as she was super-sweet....
