  1. Kathy Ann!! I too have that pressure on my sternum!!! If I accidently eat gluten, I feel like a can't breathe, like some one is sitting on my chest, and I feel extreme panic. I then keep trying to take a full breath and feel like I can't. I feel whoozy, and if I haven't eaten in a while I get really dizzy. I also get some joint pain, and pretty nasty...
  2. This is very true!!! I didn't realize all the symptoms I actually had until going gluten free!
  3. Thanks for all the great tips! I think I'll commit one day to batch baking. I can be very happy off of dry beans, rice, tomato sauce, fruits, veggies and turkey. haha Its my kids that are another story. I'm just wishing that I could just make them a quick sandwich sometimes. I've tried several breads, and They hate them. i don't blame them really...
  4. I usually do really well when I shop for groceries, but scince going gluten free my spending is too high each week. I'm trying to figure out what its worth. Is it worth it to spend a little more and spend less time in the kitchen? I don't know.. Just curious as to what others do. It frustrates me that a lot of the products are so expensive. :...
  5. I'd say that your wife should eat as normal. If the baby is having problems, she can cut out the gluten. My baby also had poo issues, and a constant rash. She will get a hive like rash in her diaper area after consuming gluten. She was a horrible sleeper until I became gluten free. Breastfeeding is always superior, and the longer a mother can breast...
  6. Start by making a list of the foods she already enjoys eating. Eat those foods, and slowly test out other brands, and baking your own items. That is what I have been doing. I enjoy cooking though, and you should see the look on my sons face when they see I've invented something new to eat. hahahahahahaha A few days ago I made some pancakes out of some...

  8. Our family enjoys going out for mexican, but every time I eat there I end up itching so bad over the next couple of days, along with other symptoms. I haven't gotten the balls yet to be assertive. The last time we went out, I said I just wasn't going to eat. So, how do you know that the place doesn't just think you are being a pain in the arse, and spit...
  9. Thank you for the replies! WEll, I am a paranoid person in general about germs. :-( The person s house in question is not very clean by my standards. (now I sound like a snob. LOL) I think I'll need to pass, but worried about hurting feelings. :-(
  10. oooh, Nicole!!! This sounds like my son! He is now almost 7 years old, and for years he took speech therapy, and I could NOT have a conversation with my son. Therapists said he was autistic. He has a hard time focusing on what people say, or following directions. He walks around like he is in a fog, or stoned like. He is fascinated with peoples eyes...
  11. Dave, it does take about a week to feel better when you are cutting out foods. I made it my life for two whole months to watch everything I ate. For a few weeks I also did a food journal. When cutting out gluten foods, I was extremely witchy, VERY tired, and all I wanted to do was eat non stop to fullfil some void. on day four I started to feel better...
  12. Should I be afraid to go to someone house where they have a staph infection? the person is on antibiotics now, and the sore is almost healed. But I am afraid of catching staph from just being in a home where someone has it. this person isn't the greatest with making sure she washes her hands, and I'd be very paranoid the whole time. I know sometimes I...
  13. I'm pretty good at being gluten free, but the las two times I've had my period I've really messed up. this weekend was my worst yet. First my husband brought me home a blizzard with brownies.. I ate almost all of it. You can't do that to a woman on her cycle!!! He didn't even think about the brownies. I was itching so badly. I have dh horribly. But...
  14. I'll be watching for responses, because I'd like to know too!
  15. I've been visiting the board for a while and reading what I can. I have a question about going gluten free. If I am gluten free for a month or more, but eat something with gluten in it does the amount of time I have to wait for my rash to go away even longer? Last month I got my period, and went on a little bit of a binge. I've been suffering for years...
