Hi , Long Island seems to be the place to be. My favorite, Joan's gluten-free Great Bakes just opened on Long Island. Just got an email about an open house Grand Opening on June 29. The candy in Huntington sounds great and now I can have my favorite bagels without shipping. www.gfgreatbakes .com. We are very lucky to be near so many great gluten-free shops -

Count me in on voting for Joan's bagels OMG .If you want a bagel ,not a gluten-free imitation, you have to get Joan's.You cannot tell thedifference between them and a wheat based bagel. If you fill up a box,the shipping isn't too bad. -

If you have bought all the other English Muffins like I have ,and then tasted Joan's you would know that there is something very different about them. The taste, texture appearance are so superior maybe the way they make them is very different. All I know is I threw the others out because they crumble and taste awful. These taste like really good food. -

Hi Pinky, I am not only celiac, but diabetic ,and have contacted Joan on two occaisions to find out the calories and carbs. The English Muffins are 200 cal ,almost identical to "real" ones and the bagels have about 270 cal. They are low in sugars and fats and I can work them into my diet. They are not more anything then the real ones. -

Broncobux I would rather pay a little more for something delicious to eat than but something that I have to throw away . That gets petty costly ,throwing out food that does not taste good. We have all done that ! -

ARCHIVED Most Incredible Bagels And English Muffins
harriedlate replied to jkmunchkin's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I just ordered from gfgreatbakes and shipping was not that bad to Brooklyn. The bagels are amazing,as good as the real ones, but they sent me a gift of choc chocolate chip muffin batter that was amazing and baked up in the morning while the kids were getting ready about 15 minutes start to finish. I can never get out in the morning ,with lunches snacks etc... -
