  1. Hi -- has anyone had any luck finding a restaurant that makes french fries in a dedicated fryer (used only for non-breaded products) in the Greater Boston area? Unfortunately, the fries at places like Legal's, Outback and Bugaboo Creek are not on the gluten-free menu. (I understand about the MacDonald's controversy, so I'm looking for other suggestions...
  2. I've heard that Fire and Ice in Harvard Square is an option. You choose your own veggies, meat, sauce and it all gets cooked. Apparently, there is a special area in the back where they can cook the food for those with various food allergy concerns.     Hi -- I'm still new at this. I'd like to contact the company that makes airheads directly to check to see if the artificial ingredients they use are gluten-free. I had been under the impression that Hershey's was like Kraft, and did not "hide" gluten, so that if the word "natural flavors" was used, and the words wheat, rye, barley, oats or malt were not, the product was safe. However, when I contacted them to double check the status of their sundae toppings, I was told that they did not know whether the natural flavors...

  7. I had a long conversation with a customer service representative at Neutrogena about their coding of "gluten-free" products. Apparently, until very recently, they did not determine whether their products contain barley, rye or oats; they only checked for wheat. If a product did not contain wheat, they called it "gluten-free" -- even though they had no idea...
