  1. I used the last of the peanut buttter and have already sent brother to the store three times this morning before ten oclock. He said no more and I'm not brave enough to hit Wal-Mart on Christmas eve! Dad can make do. Besides I have a suprise dessesrt treat for him. Chocolate covered marshmellows!
  2. For the first batch I followed the recipe to the t and the cookies came out very crumbly so the second time I mashed them together in my hands and thye came out slightly better. Thinking I didn't mix the dough enough, mom insisted it was finished. BUt the recipe said smooth and the dough wasn't.
  3. Dad is back and had no problems. I think they sailed on Royal Carribean. He said the brownies I made and the cookies I sent were a great help as it was harded to get sweet snacks that he likes, but other than that his main dishes were fantasic. We did notify ahead a time the Celiac Disease and even sent a dining card.
  4. My acid reflux gave me chronic sore throat for about a month before I went back on the medication. Don't know if this helps but I know the acid was damaging.
  5. That's what his doctor is going with and diagnosed him as celiacs. But you can just see the improvment my dad has made. He can actually work all day without worrying about bathroom breaks. sad but true.
  6. My dad's was the same way and his biopsy came back negative the doctor feels he may have gotta a biopsy from a unaffected part.
  7. Mine was difinite ansthesia. THey tried once with just sedation and I worked myself up so much I was gagging and throwing up and they had to reschedule with ansthesia. But I'm also the type who gets gas to get my teeth cleaned atthe dentist.
  8. Now comes the part of waiting for the biopsy. Luckily it's a busy week so it will fly by. I don't remember much but my mom and the doctor talked about what I could be intolertant to if this comes back negative.
  9. I had my endoscope this morning, and was put under ansthesia. It was my second one and other than a small sore throat that was gona almost as soon as I drank some water it was fine. I know one minute the doctor for ansthesia said i need to access your iv line the next thing I remember is my mom talking to the doctor about something. I made the nurses...
  10. I had my endoscopy today and I wasn't expecting full results until the biopsy comes in next week. THey took several from different parts so to get the best results. What I want to know if these results are anything celiac related. esophagitis without bleeding was found. medium hiatus hernia was found. bilious fluid was found in gastric body The...
  11. My dad had manyt of the same symptoms you have plus blood in his stools. They did a biopsy when they did his colonosopy and endo. The doctor told my dad to go on a gluten free diet as he thinks my father has celiacs disease. Before the biopsy was back but after a week of the diet they took another stool sample. No blood, however the biospy came back negative...
  12. He's doing the endo so I'll just get it then, he should have my file I would think?
  13. My ressults came in negative but when I asked for the numbers, the only number I was given was 254. What number is this and can I go by just this number? I do have an endo scheduled on the 18th and I plan on talking to the doctor more then, it's a pain getting him on the phone.
  14. OK, it probably is soy. My dad says it's not a problem and told me to send them. Thanks guys, I panicked when I realized as this is his birthday cake.
  15. No but I swear the list his doctor gave him of wheat products had soy on it.
  16. I think I may have gluten my dad using Pam cooking spray. I sprayed the pan not even theinking then realized it was made of soy.
  17. My step mom has already talked to the chef and explained and I picked up some Pamela's cookies he likes. My grandma thinks I'm crazy but like I pointed out to her, chances are actual sweets like cookies and such might be out of the question. I'm sending to boxes of cookies and some brownies I am baking now.
  18. Yeah we can pack snacks in their luggage. Or we did last time we went on a cruise. I brought my faveorite snack made of pretty much pure sugar.
  19. My stepmom is taking my dad on a cruise for his birthday and we've called ahead and told them it needs to be gluten free and talked with the chef several times. My only worry is snacks, more specefically sweets. I'm sure he can find chips and such, but like I've stated before dad has a major sweet tooth. Basically what I am asking am I right in assuming...
  20. Oh thanks, I keep asking my dad but he finished the box snd I'm going to a different store this week. At least going to try.
  21. If you don't mind me asking how long did it take for the results to come back in? Everyone tells me a week but yesterday went one week so I called and they said it can take up to another week. The waiting is frustrating.
  22. I bought cookies for my dad from Whole Food and he said he actually rechecked the label several times to make sure I wasn't getting the wrong stuff. THey are slightly expensive, maybe a 12 for 3 something, but they were Dark CHocolate Cholate Chunk cookies. My dad has a major sweet tooth, the the first for things I bought him were not that great. They also...
  23. It seems my dad and I have had different experinces than everyone else. My dad's doctor was the one who told us about Celiac's Disease, he did a biopsy which actually came back negative but he still sticks by the Celiac's Disease and suggested I get tested. I went to my GI who immediatly scheduled a blood work up and told me to call back later in the day...
  24. Ok, hopefully by Wednesday then. Grr I'm in final exams for most of the day great.
  25. How long does it take for blood results to come back. I know they sent mine to a specatlist but how long does it take?
