I was just visiting the top secret recipes site and thought I would bump this thread. For those of you who haven't visited the site it is sooooo cool. TONS of recipes for "restaurant" food that you can make at home. Many of the recipes on the site are free of charge. They add a new free recipe each week. Check it out for some fun cooking inspiration
PS. The McD's big mac sauce is quite yummy for homemade big macs

Here is my favorite PB Cookie recipe. I actually just made it the other day mmmmmmm
Flourless Peanut butter Cookies1 C. Peanut Butter chunky or creamy ( I use skippy Brand)
1 C. Packed light or dark brown sugar (I use C & H brand)
1 Large Egg, slightly beaten
1 tsp. baking soda
1C Semisweet chocolate chips 6oz. (I use tollhouse brand)
Heat oven to 350 deg.
In Medium size bowl beat together peanut butter, brown sugar, egg and soda until the mixture is smooth and well blended. Stirr in chips until evenly distributed.
Drop the dough by slightly rounded teaspoonfulls onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing the mounds about 2 inches apart.
bake one baking sheet at a time in the 350 deg. oven until cookies are puffed and slightly golden, but still soft to the touch. About 10 min.
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet on a wire rack for about 5 min. Then transfer the cookies to the wire rack; let cool completely.
Makes about 2 dozen cookies

Thanks for the tip on this! Our 5 year old starts kindergarten tomorrow so we ordered a batch. It is a little pricy but you get a HUGE amount. There are 8 different colored tubes and each tube would easily equate to 2 or 3 cans of regular playdough. Only bummer is that they are not individually packed. Each tube is in a zip lock and all 8 are inside a plastic bucket with a lid.
I bet you could make your own containers. How about used and washed out frosting tubs.......peel off the label and use the appropriate colored marker to mark the side of the container (red dough=red marker).

Jessica.... maybe you can help me! =)
I'm actually homeschooling my daughter this year. She should be in kindergarten. But, due to her TINY stature - and a whole wealth of other issues, we've decided to hold her back this year and give her a chance to heal and grow. (Plus..... she's a late birthday) The K teachers, as well as her pediatrician (and us) all decided jointly that she wasn't ready this year.
I teach 2nd grade religion classes... and I LOVE teaching. I believe it was my "calling" --- but my husband and I started our family before we were "really" ready, and I ended up dropping out of college.
Goodness you are a brave woman to homeschool!! So are you going to homeschool and then send her to K next year? Or on to first?
It is never too late to go back to school. So many universities offer many of their classes online. Emporia State (great teaching school) even has a branch up in KC just for their teachers!!! GO FOR IT!!

To me he sounds like a very open minded Dr, who is trying to rule out all sorts of things. He sounds like he is covering all the bases. I would go ahead with the biopsy for peace of mind (yours and his).
I finally saw the GI today. He asked me a million questions (or so it seemed) and carefully reviewed my blood tests and my medical history. We discussed my daughter's issues... and he DX me with IBS.
And, then he went on to say that with the results of my blood tests - he would not at all be surprised if Celiac was a part of my problem.
He "thumped" my abdomen in several places.... and at one point, it really hurt. And, he nodded and said... "Yep, I would not be surprised at all."
He sat down with a pen and his clipboard - and said, "I want to do an endoscopy to rule out any other issues."
I was fully prepared to give a big old NO WAY response if endoscopy were suggested. However, when he explained that he's not necessarily "looking" for Celiac - and wanted to rule out any other issues.... I just nodded and said ok.
I'm having it on Friday... and I'm pretty nervous.
He continued by telling me that I need to be consuming gluten... which I already knew. I wanted to say NO to that as well, but I've not been 100% gluten-free for very long at this point. But then he said that once I left the hospital, I would be put on a STRICT gluten-free diet, and I'll have a consult with a dietician. Regardless of the results - he said the gluten-free diet is mandatory. He said that dietary response, in his opinion, is the best indicator.
I really like this doctor. He was recommended to me by a doctor who HAS Celiac, and he's well respected by the members of the Celiac Sprue Association Support Group I attend.
Please tell me I'm doing the right thing. I swore up and down that I would not have an endoscopy. My husband is very happy that I've changed my mind. He feels that it's very important for me to have this done. I'm torn... but I'm on the schedule. I will go through with it, I just hate doubting myself so much.

Thanks....I'm definately no angel but its nice that I can *look* like one once in awhile.
I think its been awhile since I've gotten dressed up for anything....its pretty much been hats and jeans for me lately.
The Dave thinks I look better all grubby with a hat on....yogurt and milk stains all over my apron and dirty kneepads at work.
I believe the belching took place on another thread. I think Lisa was wanting to learn how to belch or something??
Haha....Now that I've learned rock climbing you'll have a hard time keeping me out.
Dont know Kung Foo though...will hafta learn some martial arts next. Maybe I should add that to my "lifetime" list.
Shoot.........totally forgot about the rock climbing thing. Maybe a moat haha......that would be silly.....an island with a moat? LOL

<------------------------------------------------------is my bratty cat lounging by the pool. He LOVES water. He is a big nerdball. One day this summer I had looked out to see what he was doing (he only gets let out every once in a while and I always keep my eye on him). Here he was......paws dangling in the pool. I snuck back inside grabbed the camera and snapped his picture. So that's him...........chillin at the pool.
He also spends a great deal of his time indoors in the bathtub or sink. When I take a bath in my big tub he is sittin on the edge trying to play in the water. When I get out, he gets in
Such a wierdo.......

Okay, now I have to retract what I wrote earlier. Annie played with the glitter dough this morning, and had three episodes of diarrhea this afternoon. They could be related.
Does anybody know if the glitter dough formula from Colorations is perhaps NOT gluten-free? It was on this forum that I first heard of Colorations as a gluten-free dough, but I chose the glitter dough, not the regular, when I ordered it.
Mechelle
Is it the one that says wheat free/ gluten free? If not then it's prob. not safe. I don't believe that the gluten free dough comes in a glittery variety.

yeah, my pasta get all dry and hard when I try to reheat it. It would be so much better if the pasta didn't have to be cooked every night you wanted it, and if you made extra you could be able to save it since pasta is so expensieve.
Mine still gets a mushier texture. But it does not get hard. Here is what I do.
I put the sauce over the pasta and into a gladware container. When re-heating. I leave the lid on the container. This keeps the steam and moisture in the container. Helps to keep it from drying out. It works well for me. It isn't like FRESH pasta, but it's good enough for me.
