Stonewear, such as those from the Pampered Chef, are very porous. There is a HUGE chance that you will be contaminating yourself if you continue to use them. I know that stinks!! But you have to think in terms of health and your body, instead of in dollars and cents. Best wishes-Jessica
  2. I am in Kansas, but the Dr. that helped to diagnose me just moved back to Ohio. He wasn't an expert in Celiac Disease, HOWEVER, he was MORE than willing to learn and open to anything. He was a great guy....you might try to see where he is in Ohio....his name is Dr. Brian Hendrickson. Best wishes. -Jessica
  3. I keep all of my gluten free flours in the refrigerator. It seems to help them last a little longer for me. -Jessica
  4. ha ha ha Laura....exactly how many dozens of cookies have you eaten in the last few days? haha Sounds like quite a few...oh well they are Gluten Free!! So enjoy them. Thanks for doing the freezer experiment. Now I know that if I ever get any extra cookies ha I can freeze them. Happy Baking....and Eating!! -Jessica
  5. I don't know how well they will freeze. I haven't tried to freeze them yet. I'm not sure they would keep their soft squishy melt-in-your-mouth consistency after being in the freezer. Let me know if you try to freeze some and see how they turn out. I didn't have enough to even put in the freezer after my family got ahold of them! ha -Jessica

  8. I went to the Dr. this afternoon. It seems that the last round of antibiotics didn't TOUCH my stupid infection. Instead it has just had 7 days to get worse SOOOOOoooo I'm on yet another antibiotic......this one had better work. She said I will have to go to the hospital for some tests if it doesn't . I have been poked and prodded enough in my life...
  9. Before I was diagnosed I would write down any symptom on a piece of paper, then when I went to the dr I would take that paper with me. I also tried to monitor body temp. Sometimes it is easy to get into the office and forget key things that you wanted to tell the dr about, so write it down!! It sure helped me. -Jessica
  10. Thanks to you both. I am going to try to get an appointment for this afternoon. I have to go student teach today (2nd graders) and I really can't miss that, wish I could so I could see the dr. Hopefully they can get me in after school!!! It is disappointing that I just had a week (my spring break ha) on antibiotics and it doesn't seem to have totally...

  13. I called Kraft about the cross contamination issue just last week. The lady on the phone gave me the usual Kraft response (which is fine) of they put everything clearly on the labels. I asked her if the product was on a dedicated line. She said that if it were not that too would be listed on the label. I feel very safe eating the pebbles!! -Jessica
  14. Since you have not been ingesting gluten, your body won't be producing antibodies for the gluten. Therefore your blood tests will come back negative. In order to get the testing, you need to be eating gluten products. Best of luck!! -Jessica
  15. I really wish I could say that my allergies went away after being gluten-free. I take zyrtec daily. If I miss a couple of days I am stuck sneezing and miserable. Thank goodness for Zyrtec lol !!! -Jessica
  16. Many lipsticks do contain gluten, so I'm sure that chapsticks/lipglosses are the same way. You might want to ask your partner with the kissable lips to forgoe the lip gunk?!? Natural Ice Chapstick is gluten-free it is made by the Mentholatum Company. -Jessica
  17. It amazes me how a constructive adult conversation was taken the turn to a new low with this remark. Mario consider yourself warned. Please read the board guidelines/rules. -Jessica A celiac.com moderator
  18. Heather- It sounds to me like you might have a latex allergy if the condoms leave you itchey as well as the patches (they have latex in them also) . When you talk to the doc you might mention that. -Jessica PS...I'm a moderator so Don't worry too much! ha
  19. Heather- Personally am TOTALLY not offended. I know there was a topic about this very subject on the old board. (I started it hehe!! ) I am having trouble remembering what all was said about it. It was quite a while ago. I think that it was determined that nothing would be harmful...but I really can't remember GRRRRRRR I hate when I can't remember...
  20. Like I said...I used only cashews....I'm not sure about the macadamias...maybe somebody else knows??? -Jessica

I think it would be great if Sara would set a standard for doctors all over the U.S. to become educated about topics that fall between the cracks. That would be AWESOME!!. However, we still can not overlook the fact that many people on this board have gone through HELL to get diagnosed. The point of the board is to be able to share information and experiences...

  25. Gillian- I'm trying to clear up some of the confusion Mario is creating on the board. He is in CANADA products are produced with different ingredients in the U.S. VS. other countries. They may go by the same name, but have different things in them. Check with the number in the US if that is where you are at. He is referring to CANADA. Sorry for...
