ARCHIVED Another Bloating Question
holdthegluten posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I have cut out gluten, dairy, soy, and sugar which i had a high reaction to on an intolerance test. I have felt no improvement since avoiding these foods. I still bloat all of the time no matter what i eat. It has been 9 months and i was told I was early stage celiac. If my intestines have had time to heal, shouldnt they be working normal by now. I always... -

ARCHIVED Other Reasons Villi Blunting
holdthegluten posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
If a biopsy reveals villi blunting, why does that guarantee you have celiac. I have read that villi blunting can be caused by many other factor. Other food intolerances (soy, casein, anything with high IgA reaction), gastroenteritis, and malnutrition can cause blunting. My question is if you have some other food intolerance and blunted villi, it might not... -

holdthegluten posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I was diagnosed with celiac about 9 months ago. My TTG was 8.5 which was considered a weak positve, and my endoscopy biopsy showed villi blunting. My GI doctor said this is celiac disease and to start the gluten free diet. I have been very diligent with the diet and still dont feel great, so i decided to check for other food intolerances through York Labs... -

ARCHIVED How Long For Intestines To Heal?
holdthegluten replied to JustJust's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
My doctor said approximately 3-6 months for the villi to heal.........but i think it may take longer if you dont stick to the diet properly. It is especially difficult to not get glutened when you are just beginning the diet (very complicated diet). Your doc should do a TTG celiac blood test at about 6 months to see if the diest has lowered your ttg levels... -
