Now i am 135lbs and i am 5'6" male. I am not losing strength, but i am very lean now. I want to gain like 10 lbs of muscle, but can't. I dont have any malabsorption...

ARCHIVED Extreme Coldness
holdthegluten replied to cdfiance's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Have her get her thyroid checked, even if the other symptoms dont match. If you lose weight quickly your thyroid levels usually go down with it. A simple med of synthetic thyroid coulb be all she needs. Even people that have a low-normal range can have the always being cold symptom and be healed by the med. Good Luck -

I just recently woke up in a pool of sweat. I also ate a lot of candy right before bed. I havent had a lot of sugar like this in a long time and havent had a night sweat until now. I know its not a big worry, but do you think sugar and nightsweat have a connection. I also have a bad stomach ache. Thoughts? -

holdthegluten replied to deedub's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I have been gluten free for 4 months and i experience those same symptoms. I think it justs takes a ridiculously long time to get back to normal. Frustrating when you make the effort to take care of yourself and you still feel like poop. Just imagine how bad you would feel if you were still eating gluten with no diagnosis. I am just trying to be patient... -

holdthegluten replied to Sandi's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Think of your condition as a disorder, not a food alllergy. If you were a diabetic would you not take your insulin? Treat it seriously and things will get easier. Food will become less important and cravings will ease up tremendously. Be positive and we are here to help. Everyone knows how you are feeling and we sympathize. God Bless You. -
