  2. i was looking at the mcdonalds web site tonight and according to the site updated as of 03-13-07they are listing wheat as an ingrediant in fries. what a bummer , that was one of the first things i checked in feb when i was diagnosed and was told the fries were gluten-free.oh well back to the drawing board
  3. just to give a little update, about two hours after posting my confession i was in the bathroom twice within a half hour, and it had to be lunch ,cause i was totaly gluten-free for all meals bedfore that.i guess i felt a little weird asking for qp without a bun, but that wont happen again.
  4. good luck with the new diet , im on week 3 and im really trying but its one hell of a challange, my suggestion for breakfast is vans gluten-free waffles . i make 2 every morning and use jelly and eat them on the run, but stay on this site the people here are extremly helpful. i found the waffles at walmart and they were $1.72 for a pack of 6
  5. couldnt take the pressure yesturday i went to mcdonalds for my coworkers and got a quarter pounder with cheese, i took the bun off and used the gluten-free bread i made in my bread maker. it didnt taste as good but i couldnt take it , but does that make me a bad celiac for not worrying about cc??

  7. i have tried it also with no bad reaction. also not sure where your from but there is another beer out called "new grist" it is brewed in milwaukee by a company called "lakefront breweries" and i like it better than redbridge , but man it sure is nice to have a couple of options. I LOVE BEER!!!!!!!!!!!THE WEBSITE I THINK IS LAKEFRONTBREWERIES.COM hope...
  8. just to chime in my doc also told me it was ok to cheat, and i gotta tell you his attitude toward the whole thing upset me too. after my biopsies came back positive he basicly said "you have celiac, check in with a dietition" and that was it. he also chalked it up to my being irish.if not for this site and ALL THE AWESOME PEOPLE on it id be lost
  9. is it possible to get a quick run down of some of the hidden ingrediants or different types of gluten that dont exactly come out and say WHEAT, RYE ,BARLEY , ETC...i was looking at the label on "deans french onion dip" and it included modified food starch and for some reason i thought i read it was a no no.also how about the word carmelized is that also...

  11. im stiill pretty new to the gluten-free lifestyle , i was diagnosed 2 weeks ago and gluten-free for about a week, except for the slip ups im sure im making along the way . im still learning how to read lables, but my question is, are regular salad dressing ok to have?? i met with a nutrionist and she told me that homemade dressings are the way to go, but...
  12. hey dan , i too was just recently diagnosed with celiac ,good luck with the gluten free diet. also i found two other gluten free beers one is brewed in milwaulee named New grist and it tastes great. the other one is called Dragon something i cant remember the full name. man what a relief it was to find them. again good luck

  14. you are probably right .but ive lived with them for so long without knowing what was wrong it somehow seemed normal
  15. thank you all for the awesome advice ,it really helps, i am absolutly ready to commit to this huge life change.after reading some of the posts in other threads i kinda felt like my symptoms didnt merit such a huge life change, but with your help i realize celiac is celiac and the best thing is to get this thing in check. so thanks again ive learned more on...
  16. hey guys my name is rob im 37 years old and the doc told me 2 weeks ago i had celiac disease, ive been gluten free for 4 days or at least i think i have . its pretty overwhelming looking at food labels for everything. man i didnt realize how many products had gluten in it. my entire pantry is off limits.i think i got a pretty good start on the gluten free...
