ARCHIVED Has Anyone Ever Gotten A Negative Result From Enterolab?
jitters replied to bakinghomesteader's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I was negative as well. My husband and daughter were both positive. I am the one in our family with the intolerence to gluten. EnteroLab blames it on a low IGA count. -
ARCHIVED Aches...........again?
jitters replied to holdthegluten's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I'm very interested in hearing everyone's ideas on this topic because the same thing is happening to me. It almost seems to go in a cycle and starts in my wrists, up my arms, shoulders, and down the trunk of my body. Major chills and painful aches and major fatigue. I've been to the doctor and she sent me to a rheumatologist who of course suggested it is... -
ARCHIVED Negative Enterolab Results, But Still Celiac?
jitters replied to elye's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
My husband, daughter and I all got tested through EnteroLab. I am the only one who has obvious problems with gluten, and have a positive family history of Celiac Disease. I was really excited to get the results to *finally* have proof to my friends and family on my husbands side that I wasn't crazy. Long story short my husband and 3 year old daughter both... -
ARCHIVED Didn't Know Where To Post. Please Help!
jitters replied to blondebombshell's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I think everyone is right- you have to eat a good breakfast. Another thing I have learned the HARD way, at least 3 times now is that I cannot tolerate coffee. It makes me SO tired, ran down, and I have rage eventually because of it. It takes about 4 days for it to get out of my system and then I start to feel better. Currently I'm on day two and ready to... -
ARCHIVED What Kind Of Celiac Episodes Do You Have?
jitters replied to little00blondie's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
My reactions aren't of the "digestive nature". Unfortunately they are more neurological and aren't always immediate so I have no idea what or when I got into something. It usually starts with a rapid heartbeat and sometimes a weird numb/pinched nerve feeling in my left shoulder blade, always in the same place. If I am glutened at night I am awake all... -
ARCHIVED Enterolab Testing Or Try Gluten Free & See Changes?
jitters replied to Mama Ruthies's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I'm not sure if this will help you or not, but here's my story with EnteroLab and where my family is now: I have a family history of Celiac with the symptoms more on the neurological side vs. the digestive side. I went gluten free prior to meeting my husband and did SO GOOD on the diet. Well fast forward a few years and along with having a new family... -
ARCHIVED Enterolab Results
jitters replied to jitters's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I've had gluten off and on for the past five years. The longest I've been totally gluten free is probably 6 months. Other than that I've cheated now and then probably at least once a week just from not being picky in restaurants. I guess my frustration isn't with Enterolab, its only because I was looking forward to telling the critics that I was tested... -
ARCHIVED Enterolab Results
jitters posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Okay, my mom has Celiac disease. I've been off and on gluten free for about five years now. Long enough to know that I definitely have a problem with gluten. I have all the classic symptoms from intestinal to physical to neurological. Long story short I thought I was noticing some signs in my daughter that could be gluten related so we decided to test through... -

ARCHIVED Does Anyone Have A Gluten Free/casein Free Product List?
jitters replied to jitters's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Thank you so much, exactly what I was looking for. I'm still new to this site so I don't even know half of whats on here, I had no idea there was a Gluten-free Casein-free area... -
ARCHIVED Painful Acne- Any Good Tx?
jitters replied to jesscarmel's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Hi There, I have horrible acne too when I'm not on the pill. One thing that really really helps me is staying off dairy. As soon as I have anything dairy I break out in these huge painful pimples. As far as I know I'm not dairy intolerant. I also use Toms of Maine soap, as well as Proactiv. That seems to help as well. I'm 28 years old, you'd think I'd... -
ARCHIVED Does Anyone Have A Gluten Free/casein Free Product List?
jitters posted a topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Hi Guys, My three year old daughter was just diagnosed as gluten/casein intolerant. I was wondering if anyone knows of some products offhand that are gluten/casein free. I would love to give friends and family a list of some foods and snacks they can pick up at the store that they can give her. I know of a few like the Trix and Dora cereals and some of the... -

Thanks, thats what I was looking for. We've definitely had some mood issues lately, I'm really hoping the gluten free diet will help. It sure helps my mood! -
ARCHIVED Thought I Was A Little More Prepared Than This...
jitters posted a topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Okay. My mom has been gluten free for about 10 years now. So I'm not brand new to all this. In fact, I thought I would be a lot more prepared for this. Now I'm realizing I'm totally overwhelmed and scared. I have been gluten free (well, okay I admit I have been cheating more and more lately) for four years. My symptoms are almost non existant so its sometimes... -
ARCHIVED Red Puffy Itchy! Hands/anyone Else Get This?
jitters replied to dally099's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
My 3 year old daughter (who is in the process of being tested) has an odd zitty rash on her butt, and so does my husband who refuses to believe he could be gluten intolerant. The funny thing is he admits he only gets the rash when he makes wheat chex mix. Duh!! Their bumps are kind of big though. The rash thing annoys me to no end as doctors just look at... -
ARCHIVED Red Puffy Itchy! Hands/anyone Else Get This?
jitters replied to dally099's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
This sounds really similar to what I have. Doctors haven't been able to tell me what it is for sure but here's what happens to me: It is always on my left hand and starts in the upper left part of my palm just below my pointer finger. From there it gets itchy and spreads in a circular pattern. Most of the time its hard to see unless it gets itchy and then... -
For me its certain brands of coffee... some make me angry while others make me extremely sad.

ARCHIVED New To This- Finally Taking The Steps! Entero Lab?
jitters replied to jitters's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Thanks everyone for your answers. I think the most frustrating thing about all this is that there is no test that can say 100% whether you have Celiac or not. It drives me nuts! Especially when you have doubting family and friends and the blood test or even biopsy comes back negative. The test I'm getting from Entero Lab isn't the gene test, but the other... -
Scientifically I really don't know. My assumption would be that maybe you have some damage from gluten and coffee and corn (which aren't the easiest things to digest) are irritating your intestines or maybe even if you are Celiac it is attacking other parts of your body as it is an autoimmune disease. I know it sounds crazy- I thought my mom was nuts when...

I JUST went through this, its the worst! Do you drink coffee? Through trial and error I realized that coffee makes my body hurt. Some brands more than others. For example Starbucks hurts me the most. My whole body just aches. Maxwell House makes me really emotional and I seem to do okay with Tasters Choice. Its odd how some foods can affect you. Also, a few...

ARCHIVED New To This- Finally Taking The Steps! Entero Lab?
jitters posted a topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Although no one in my family has an official diagnosis of Celiac Disease, my mother has been eating gluten free for 10 years now. I believe I am gluten sensitive as well and have been off and on gluten for about 4 years now, its a battle I was losing until recently as I can tell I am just not well when I eat gluten. My question is about my daughter though...
