  1. This is pretty much all you need to know. Stick to the gluten free diet. Obviously, it is working. =) But if you'd like to know for sure if your son has Celiac Disease, you can order some tests from Enterolab.com. They don't do blood testing, but they do, do genetic testing and they check stool for anti-bodies, which seems more accurate than the blood...

    ARCHIVED Thirst

Another idea, do you find yourself taking less fluids in when you are not gluten-free? Also, what are your symptons now? You could be loosing more fluids through loose stool or something also those lines?

    ARCHIVED Celiac Runners

Hey Jill. This thread may help you. Open Original Shared Link Think it covers a few things for athletes, the energy issue is one of them! I'd love to have actual advice, but errmm.. haven't felt healthy enough to run for a long time now, lol. So look on the bright side.. you are running! =D
  4. I tried a yahoo search, yeah, again. Is it Ronrico Gold Label Rum? If so, this website seems to think it is gluten-free. Open Original Shared Link I have no personal clue, and this was the only site I could find mentioning whether it was gluten-free or not. So drink at your own risk I guess.
  5. Wow.. that's just dumb! Remember to take nice slow deep breaths, Jill! =)
  6. I'm 27, and in the same boat.. about 10 years now! I pretty much agree with what everyone is saying. Though ultimately the choice is your's Dustina. Though a lot of us here would have love to known gluten was bad for us, before we got as bad as we got. =)
  7. LOL.. well least it keeps you safe for 3 days? And that was another. If you loved breads, pizza, etc.. diet might be a bit hard too. Just gotta be off it long enough to forgot what those things were like, LOL.
  8. That sounds interesting. Happy with my method, so why change? Though that does sound interesting too.. and I don't do eggs, trying to aviod most sources of egg, LOL. This could be a good idea for me when I get bored of just bread crumbs, but right now.. it's so exciting and new compared to everthing else I eat, LOL. Gawd.. it's so sad, when I find something...
  9. Don't worry about typing a lot. This place is for being like a support group! So, share all ya need. =) Umm.. I'm not sure I had much mental fog, hope I did.. felt kinda stupid at times. Not sure if that's happening now.. can't recall any recent moments of feeling stupid at least, LOL.
  10. Gawwww.. we have that, but I don't use it cuz I want to be uber-safe.. didn't think it really had any it in. Thanks!!!! =D
  11. Hmmm.. mine sticked fine. Nothing really came off in cooking. You could try dipping it in egg first maybe? Think some people do that. I just ran my underwater, to clean it off.. and make it wet. Then rolled it in the crumbs.. making sure it was all covered, and had no problems. Were you baking? Maybe it works different than frying.
  12. This is kinda off topic, but I got a pan that is non-stick.. and haven't had to use anything on it, even when frying. No idea on ways to "flour" something though. =)
  13. Yeah, I have the Mi-Del Ginger Snaps.. and they do have a snap to them! Aren't bland or anything. =)
  14. Terri, I'd say mucus likely.. if it the same as mentioned? Our bowel normally does produce mucus, but when it's not happy.. or upset for a reason, it can make extra.. lots, ugh, lol. Though what was upsetting you.. no idea.
  15. I think the trouble most people have is not being able to eat fast food, lots of junk food, etc. If you are handling that fine, then yeah, should be easier for you. =P And in a way your lucky then, kinda, your body will tell you right away if you eat a no no. Pretty sure mine won't do that, lol.
  16. That does sound like mucus, at least to me. Though the foul smelling odor to it, isn't something I've encountered. Maybe calling the doctor would be a good idea then. Another idea though, if no new foods, maybe you're using a new soap or hair care product, etc.. that contains gluten? Oh well, good luck!
  17. Doing something wrong, finding it easy? Naw! Sounds like you're doing well adapting to the diet. =) There have been a few people asking the Celiac versus gluten intolerance question here lately, so believe my answer is more or less correct. Celiac disease is when the small intestines gets damaged because of an intolerance to gluten. A gluten intolerance...
  18. I'm in the other boat, I'm going against my GI Doc's belief I don't have celiac disease, and sticking with the diet (He isn't that knowledgable and I got tested by enterolab saying I do need to avoid gluten). The diet can be hard, and it seemed impossible when I started too. I have learned to adapt, and I have to cut out all dairy as well. Granted, I didn...
  19. Thanks Brenda.. and yeah, I got rid of the Rice Dream. Ended up having some of the Rice Dream icecream too, that wasn't dairy free when it claimed so! Ugh.. so, not buying anymore of their stuff. =)
  20. Hello Racheleona. I'm not exactly female, but if you have small intestines damage from the gluten intolerance, then your body could go without the nutrients it needs, which could cause you to lose your menstruation. Not an expert, but making an educated guess. =) Though the above guess would be null and void if you've had small intestines biopsies taken...
  21. LOL GEF, and you're welcome. =) lesliewatts -> I can't have any milk products either, but sounds like an interesting idea. Do heat up the oil though! And yeah, I figured someone more experienced could put spices in the gluten-free bread crumbs.. and I flip it a bit more than you do though, lol.. but still learning! Thanks for adding your ideas for...
  22. Is it oil or more like mucus? How long has it been happening, since you went gluten-free or more recent? Could you be eating something new that's causing it? I know some of the "fat substitutes" like.. errmm.. no clue how to spell it, but began with O, could cause problems like that. And don't worry about gross, pretty sure most of us have delt with...
  23. Thanks for the reply again. =) I know that! Pretty sure a good amount of us here have disagreed with doctors before, LOL.
  24. Okay, so I am right in assuming those mean I'm gluten intolerant, no matter what he thinks? =) And hey.. looking at your tag, you were negative on the last two, too? Well Borderline for that other one.. with a certain number, looks like my lab didn't do numbers for that one.
  25. I know there are two threads currently about blood work, but I wasn't sure how to post this in one of those, without stealing the creator's thunder so to speak.. so starting yet another one, sorry! I had these taken last Fall, seeing the doctor again, and just want to sound intelligent when I point out to him how this could mean celiac disease (or gluten...
