  1. celiac3270, I wouldn't be surprised if you were able to do one now.. since you seem so intelligent and hard working on these boards! =) LOL Jill.. lemme find the glue for ya. =P
  2. The two Wegmans near here, have Health Food sections with gluten free foods. The "super" one having more. They are in NY, I know. Maybe NJ too. Not sure about where else though.
  3. Whose list are you talking about? I don't know about gluten, but if you need to avoid milk, sodium caseinate is something you can't have, because casein is a milk protein. So does the list that says it's bad, also for avoiding milk, or just gluten?
  4. Just an idea, do you have any food allergies? Might be good to look into that. Though I'd figure if you had one to eggs, you'd have a worse reaction. The pot, does it have stratches? I've heard if it's stratched, better to get a new one, if it's been used for gluten foods. Gluten on the eggs? No clue.. anything is possible? Try washing them before you...
  5. Not an expert.. but I like increasing my post count! =D I do know, if you don't get enough sleep.. it weakens your immune system. I don't know if it matters when you go to bed though. I think it's more important to just try to get to bed around the same time, and get enough of it! 8 hours seems to be the magic number I hear.. could be wrong there. So...
  6. Thank you for making them! =)
  7. Well looks like this idea didn't hold here, lol. Born in Oct myself.
  8. Don't be too hard on yourself. Everyone makes mistakes at first when it comes to this diet. I made the same mistake with Rice Dream drink, who'd have thought there would be gluten in something like that? And some of Rice Dream's icecreams aren't diary free, when they claim it to be.. bleck. Just keep researching, and don't assume something is gluten...
  9. So do I need to glue you back together since I cracked you'd up? =P LOL, I know what you mean! I've had this idea for a book, for almost 3 years now.. and ugh, just need to get going! Even it it turns out sucky, better to try. =)
  10. Hmmm.. how bout, "Drinking and Throwing Up: The Celiac Way" ? LOL.. dun mind. But if you use it, I want credit! =P
  11. I gotta mess things up too.. I'm also A positive. Or change the theory to mostly O's and some A's? LOL
  12. No, unfortunately the Rice Dream drink isn't safe. Here's something from the gfcfdiet.com website. So sounds like you should stick with the soy milk. =)
  13. Ya know.. that actually still sounds good. And how bout for a college book, you could do, "Celiacs Can Get Drunk Too!" LOL.. I dunno, being silly. =P
  14. Why not write one about dealing with Celiac as a College student? You can combine it! Or you could write on about celiac disease, then one about the college experience and having celiac disease. Just some ideas. That would make a nice book title, though could distract some people into thinking gluten is only in wheat, don't ya think? Or maybe not, thinking...
  15. What kind of soaps, lotions, are you using? There can be gluten I believe in those type of things. And people can react, who don't have DH. Someone else just recently asked a similiar question. I posted some links, that you might find helpful? Open Original Shared Link You can also use the search function of the forums to find more threads that might...
  16. LOL Jill, I like that.
  17. Not a doctor, not an expert, but if everything else is coming up negative so far, I'd say you should definately look into getting testing for Celiac Disease. In my non-expert opinion, I'd say ask to be tested for it too. Or demand! Depending on how your doctor is, lol. The loss of weight, inability to gain it, and feeling worse after eating more gluten...
  18. Thanks for the update. Too bad you were negative, since you wanted the "gold stanard" proof, right? Glad you sound in good spirits though. =) Even if you didn't have the Gliadin, you've been feeling better, if I remember correctly? So another sign of Celiac. As for the nurses, if you have the patience.. teach 'em! LOL
  19. Now that makes me happy!!! Such a pain trying to find things Gluten-free Casein-free. Thanks for the post, will have to look for them. Their site says they are at a store at shop at too.. no idea how I missed 'em, unless brand new? =)
  20. I haven't heard of Panda Express.. so I might be a bit wrong here. But, I'm gonna guess they sell steamed rice? I would think rice that was steamed would be gluten-free, but it could be cross-contaminated with something that contains gluten. Another guess, that what you were reading, was warning you about a company that contaminated it's steamed rice?...
  21. Okay, I'm guessing you mean it contained Malt? Everything I've read has said Malt isn't gluten free. Think it's made from wheat? I know if something has "Malt Flavoring" I put it back. Having said that, I don't claim to know everything or be an expert, so maybe it's possible there is a gluten-free malt out there. The best advice I think anyone can...
  22. You're welcome. And while it could be an annoyance, love conquers all as they say. =)
  23. You're welcome and thanks, oh and if you haven't seen Coutler raving about Foods by George products, I noticed the Wegmans near me has them in a freezer section in their health food section. The Brownies are really good. =D The Mi-Del, I think you can notice are gluten-free.. but still good, in my opinion. Just to warn ya, LOL.
  24. What facial products are you using if any? Think that info could help someone answer more. I don't know anything for sure, but I think I've read some soaps can have gluten in them, and once you've been gluten free long enough, if you hadn't reacted to them before, you could start doing so. Doing a quick search of the forums, these threads might help: ...
  25. Jill, the Mi-Del Cookies.. which I find in the Wegmans around here, in there health food section seem pretty good too. Just a heads up. =) And me think I need to check those cookies out you have mentioned! Thanks. (=
