  1. Thanks for the response and info. =)
  2. Well now that I'm gluten free, all I feel is missing gluten foods! LOL But I'm on day 2 now, so the feeling better part I figure will come with time. =)
  3. Wow, thanks all for the replies. If I don't reply directly to ya, it's just cuz there's so much here. But read everything! =) celiac3270, yeah that's actually a good idea drinking the Tropicana OJ with calcium (especially since I can't drink milk), actually have that here, though it has added vitamin D.. hopefully that's safe too! Is there any kinds...
  4. Oops.. I put down restrictions, but I really am hating the symptons, kinda read it fast and thought it was asking just about the diet, lol. And if it was just about the diet, I'd say everything!! But.. I'm new, I'll learn. Like all you ol' timers have, LOL.
  5. True, doesn't matter if a doctor accepts it.. but I was just hoping he would, because it would have been nice after having doctors telling me the wrong things, or telling me nothing was wrong, to have one tell me what was wrong, eventhough I do believe I know it. If that makes sense, lol. Set up an appointment to see him again in 2 month, so hopefully...
  6. So saw my doctor today, follow up to having biopsies done. They were fine, so I don't have any problems with gluten he says! Hmm.. showed him my Enterolab results, but he didn't really accept them. Said I wouldn't have symptons with my biopsies being fine, etc. I do have to give him credit though, he was polite and nice about it. Drew more blood and was...
  7. Oh, I'm not trying to bash Lactaid if it came out that way, sorry. =) I just didn't know such a thing as casein existed when I used it, so I thought I was just lactose intolerant and it was a bad product. So I was just joking about it sucking, since I know now it wouldn't work for me.
  8. Thanks for the replies you two. And you're right MySuicidalTurtle, I tried to set this up in a way that others can learn too. =) Hmm.. I forgot to mention about being Casein Free as well.. Enterolab said I should be, so errmm.. any further thoughts that would fit the questions for a Gluten-free Casein-free diet? Still trying to figure out the gluten...
  9. Got some questions that would be nice to have answers to. I am trying to look up answers on my own too, and still will be, but figured maybe some of you here could be helpful too. And yeah, not trying to be paraniod about contamination.. even if some of my questions sound otherwise. =) 1) Are any flavorings safe? Malt, Artificial, Natural, others? -Malt...
  10. cynicaltomorrow -> Did a doctor tell you, you were lactose intolerant, or just assuming you do, since you have a reaction after milk products? I'm asking, because I thought I was lactose intolerant, because I had bad reactions to milk and icecream, but enterolab's testing said I was intolerant to casein, which is a protein in milk (lactose is a sugar...
  11. The soy yogurt anything like Soy Milk? Cuz if so, YUCK! LOL Though I don't miss yogurt, never really got into eating it. So no real loss there, and thanks for the info hsd1203. kalo, I don't know if it's a life long allergy (casien), but I had never had any problems with milk growing up, use to love ceral, icecream (Who doesn't though? lol), but then noticed...
  12. tarnalberry: So since Enterolab said I should aviod casein, I shouldn't eat yogut then? Oy.. and I was thinking being gluten-free would be hard enough, lol. I could be totally wrong, but for some reason I thought casein might be in nuts too? Wrong there? Wouldn't be the first time. =) But what you said about the lactose and casein makes sense to me...
  13. Does sound helpful, yes. =) Though for me, my villi are fine (according to biopsy and Enterolab), so lucky there.. so I should absorb everything alright, it's I think the large intestines that has the most damage, which isn't so lucky, lol. Does yogurt have any milk in it though? For some reason I'm thinking it might.. or doesn't, can't remember. The...
  14. Yeah.. that's one drawback I was thinking of, that this would make it too easy, and might cause new problems.
  15. I don't know if anyone has had this idea, but thought I'd pose it to see if anyone had thought of it or tried it. When going off gluten, and going gluten free.. would going to a diet of just baby food be easier on the system to help it heal? Was thinking since baby food is for young or developing internal systems, it should be easier on ya, and should...
  16. LOL, well you said it took you 4 weeks to get your results, and my come today, making it exactly 4. They say I should aviod gluten and casein, can't decide if I wanna though. (joking)
  17. Only thing I can think of telling you is to look into Enterolab, and if you can afford it, maybe get some testing by them.. supposed to be more accurate, when looking into Celiac, I've heard. My blood testing was inconclusive.. think it might be possible to have negative blood though, maybe. Enterolab.com is the website. Hopefully someone else can...
  18. Okay.. was just curious if others had been having a delay. I can wait more or less, been waiting 10 years for a doctor to get things right, but going to a re-union type thing this Saturday, least hoping to, fingers crossed.. and it might be nice to be able to tell people what is wrong.. instead of still not knowing. If that makes sense, LOL. =)
  19. Posting here in pre, since still waiting for enterolab, and the biopsies didn't help. Sorry if wrong Mods. I don't know if I have Celiac Disease yet, that's where I'm leaning (and according to doctors everything is normal besides a slight hiatal hernia).. and curious if anyone else gets to experience what follows? Saturday night, started to get some...
  20. Err.. sorry for starting this as a thread then, didn't know where to post it. Thought the pre-section was best, LOL. =)
  21. I'm not trying to be impatient or anything, but on their website it said they should have results back by 2-3 weeks.. least by email. And so it's been 3 weeks today, and nothing yet.. maybe I could wait a bit longer, but since I didn't see a phone number on their website, can't call.. and mom said she wouldn't trust a company that didn't list it's phone number...
  22. Thanks for the website, and yeah, does sound a bit crazy, but could always help like it did for you. =) Ah, I've usually been on the lighter side, maybe slightly underweight.. though when I was pumping up the gluten to try and be sicker for the biopsies, did gain weight.. so, hopefully Enterolab's results will be in soon, though seeing the doctor this...
  23. Thanks for the response. Brightens my hopes too! I'm gonna guess that you really didn't have any weight loss problems either, thinking biopsies would be more likely to be positive in those who can't keep weight on? Seems logical to me at least, lol. I got a little booklet sent to me from the doctor's today, said a Hiatal Hernia, could be caused by staining...
  24. So today I heard back from the nurse, and they said the biopsies looked normal, but they did find a slight Hiatal Hernia.. Well I figured the biopsies might have turned out that way, heard it could, so like a good little boyscout I got testing done with Enterolab too. Still waiting on their results though. In the mean time, is a Hiatal Hernia something...
  25. When I was a kid, we had plastic cones.. not sure how I could explain them. It was shaped like an ice-cream cone with icecream on it, kinda. But it was made up of two pices, the top piece, which was the icecream looking part, you put icecream in, and then you screwed it onto the top of the cone part. The top piece had lots of little holes in top, so when...
