  1. Kimberly, Hi Venting is good! I noticed that you have been gluten-free for about 5 months - I have been for close to 4 months and have also been having similar feelings to yours lately. After doing really well and thinking I was accepting my new lifestyle, I went into a real dive last week. Maybe that is something that happens after the longterm...
  2. I get this same thing and it goes down my throat as well, when I eat anything containing tapioca. Took me awhile to pin it down but that does it for me. It is in so many prepared products. I know if I have a gluten-free cookie or bread that I will have to tolerate that for a couple of days. Makes it not worth it.
  3. I don't know anything about the Bosch bread machine, but I have a Kitchen Aid with the gluten-free setting and it makes really good bread. There are quite a few posts on this board regarding the Kitchen Aid machine and some very good bread recipes as well. Hope this helps.
  4. That's wonderful, Pedro! I am so happy for you and your family. I am quite new to this myself - three months gluten-free, but reaching the point also, where life is so worth living again. Your posts are very positive and uplifting - even though I don't post a lot, I read them all. Keep up the good work - you encourage us all!
  5. I definitely feel that stress triggers so many things and probably exacerbates any existing problems. My problem came to a head in October with a stressful family situation. I do not have a great deal to offer because I am so new at this myself, but I can add my support and encouragement that this will get better for you - just hang in there, have patience...
  6. There is a really good bread recipe posted in the Daily Eating Habits thread on page 2, just down the page a bit. Skinnyminny was kind enough to repost it for us. I have been using this recipe in my bread maker and it has turned out better than anything else I have tried so far. Good luck with your new bread maker.
  7. I had a Black & Decker breadmaker for years and there came a point where we never used it much anymore. I was going to attempt cleaning it but it was beyond that and I was too afraid of CC. I decided on the Cuisinart - not sure of the price in the U.S., but it does have a gluten-free setting and works very well. We don't eat a great deal of bread....
  8. After trying several different gluten free breads that were pretty much horrible, I finally bought a Cuisinart bread maker. It was a wise choice because it makes great gluten-free bread, even has a gluten-free setting - especially using skinnyminny's gluten free recipe that I found on here somewhere. It is so good that my non gluten-free husband really...
  9. The day I found this site really turned my life around. I've only been gluten free for the last 3 months so still have so much to learn as I feel my way along, day by day. I'm afraid I am guilty of lurking still, much of the time. There are so very many knowledgeable people here to learn from and I do learn constantly. It is a life long journey and...
  10. I'll be dancing all the way to Walmart. What a great find!!!! Thanks Karen!
  11. Hi there! I'm quite new here - still learning how to post properly. I too wish this would just go away and let me be normal again. I have to remind myself, constantly, how terrible this past year or so has been, or am certain that I would give in to some of the things that I miss so much. I haven't had my hair professionally cut since October...
  12. Thank you so much for your welcome. Yes, this place certainly has been a lifeline for me too. The more I read, the more I learn and less I feel like such a misfit. It's nice that you are a foodie too. I have noticed quite a few on here. I have always had a passion for food, cooking and probably eating way too much at times too. I felt so betrayed...
  13. Hi there! I do add my encouragement and support. It is so wonderful and rare that you find people who care enough to become involved. Good on you!!! That probably goes a long way in saying what a great person are and how many people care about you too. Gail
  14. Thank you, though, a million times!!!!! I am so happy to be able to post here. There have been many times lately that I wanted to, but I was not sure that it would be appropriate till I read the posts a few back when there is someone like me who said that they were Celiac and that is all they need to say, that they cannot tolerate gluten and that...
  15. Hello to everyone! Finally figured out how to become an unanonymous user. I can't tell you how much finding this forum and all your wonderful information and advice has changed my life for the better. It has been a difficult year or so for me, trying to figure things out, but a ghastly encounter with a stack of pancakes on Pancake Day in February...
