I used to take b12 but it never did anything. I also have a lot of brain fog so I can never seem to remember to take anything. I am dairy free 100 percent!! I will start a food diary. How long do people keep logging the info? Thanks.

Some of you may have been following my posts. We are in the process of getting tests for Celiac. I did get enterolab reults which said I have the gene and everything on the celiac panel came back positive...not extreme but enough that it said to go gluten-free. I have already been gluten-free for about 5 weeks. I have had severe anemia in the not too far...

Thank you for posting about this!!! This is so important because our healthcare is SSSOOO BAD!!!! I can't even tell you enough bad stories about medical, etc. Also, I know many people think Michael Moore is a radical, left-winged guy, but according to my brother, he is actually being really central-grounded for this movie. He represents both sides of every...

Hello. I am on a gluten-free diet and we don't know if I have celiac or not (long story). I went "gluten light" for awhile and I didn't notice much of a difference with how I felt. Then my doctor told me to go strictly gluten-free so I did. I was gluten-free for about a week and I toasted a piece of gluten-free bread in the gluten ridden toaster and got glutened...

ARCHIVED Family Acting Weird
confusedks replied to natalie's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I totally understand. My family has been semi supportive but that's only because a few of them don't have ANY dairy and one is gluten light. My friends were the least supportive though mainly because I was so sick for such a long time and still am that I think they got annoyed and thought I was a hypochondriac. One day I was looking at a product and I had... -

ARCHIVED What Do People Know About Iron Infusions
confusedks replied to anemic's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hello, I had a treatment of 5 IV's of iron (consecutively) and they raised my ferritin from nothing (literally came back on labs as .3<) After the treatments it went up to 130!!! This was great, but then they went back down to 40 in less than 4 weeks. The doctor told me to make SURE I was taking Folic Acid while the treatments, and I should keep taking... -
Lollipop and Chloe I have not officially been diagnosed with Celiac (long story) but am on a strict gluten free, egg free, peanut free AND dairy free and am now starting a soy and corn elimination diet. My suggestion would be to maybe eat before you go. Also, I live off of Lara Bars which are fairly easy to find at Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. They...

ARCHIVED Another Period Question
confusedks replied to lob6796's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
kilcan, I have read almost everywhere that Celiac and irregular menses are related. I haven't had my period in almost 5 months. Last year, I had it for 90 days in a ROW!!! My ob/gyn doesn;t really know why this is happening, but I have lost a bit of weight in the recent months, so that could be why. Good luck. Kassandra -
ARCHIVED Go To Allergist
confusedks replied to confused's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Paula, I had the scratch tests for allergies a while ago and they didn't use needles at first. They use a little plastic thing that has sharp ends but it really didn't hurt. I was about 10 and was really afraid of needles at the time but it wasn't painful except when I was allergic to something and in my case it caused a welt but just because I was really... -
ARCHIVED Egg, Soy, Casein, Corn And Gluten Allergies?
confusedks posted a topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
As many of you know, I am trying to figure out if I have Celiac or not. I just ate a bowl of Fruitty Pebbles and Soymilk (gluten-free). I am soooo nauseous it is crazy! I want to go to sleep but I can''t even get in bed and lay down. I guess my question is does anyone have any experience with egg, casein, gluten, soy ANDDDD corn allergies? If so, what do... -
ARCHIVED Rice/corn Allergy
confusedks replied to whitball's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Buckwheat flour pancakes are SOOO good! I make them all the time. Especially if you pre mix the dry ingredients and then add the wet ones when your'e ready to make them, like early in the morning before work, school, etc. They are really good and for a treat I add "Enjoy Life's" chocolate chips which are free of just about every allergen. Oh, the recipe is... -
ARCHIVED Hi Teenagers Of The gluten-free World! Lol Haha
confusedks replied to Liz92's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
MJS, for the blood tests, have her pediatrician order the TTG and AMA or Ema (I cant remember.) I don't know exactly what they stand for, but those are the ones that they use for diagnosis. Also, there is a "Celiac Panel" which has everything in it, except not always the 2 i mentioned. So, make SURE those are in there. Kassandra -
ARCHIVED Pediatrician & Gi Specialist In Greater La Area?
confusedks replied to sewwbennion's topic in Doctors
Michelle Pietzak I believe is the name of the Dr. that Karen was referring to. She is truly amazing, but I tried to get in there (I'm 16 and live in LA)and she has a REALLY long waiting list. She is amazing though and very active in the Celiac Community. We talked to her receptionist who said that they want to see you last 3 visits to your Pediatrician with... -
ARCHIVED Never Thought This Could Be Related
confusedks replied to confusedks's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
How much time do you have?...lol! Well, I have had extreme anemia (ferritin didn't even show up on labs). That led to crazy exhaustion and fainting a few times, and rooms spinning, etc. I have had extremely irregular periods...last year I had it for 90 days straight!!!! Now the last time I got my period was January 11 (I think.) I have had stomach aches my... -
I am 16 and I have had a "rash" on my left arm and a little of the same rash on my thighs. It doesn't look like what the pictures of DH look like. But my question is, is it possible? It doesn't itch, but it is red all the time. I also have had really bad dandruff for awhile. It has gotten so bad that sometimes my scalp will bleed. I have tried dandruff shampoos...

ARCHIVED Eat Gluten Before Tests?
confusedks posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Ok, I have been gluten-free since May 1 of this year. I had blood tests ordered in November of last year and they came back fine, but my dr ordered every test EXCEPT the ttg and ama (i think thats right.) We are waiting for new insurance, so it may be a couple weeks until i can get to the GI Dr. I guess my question is should I go back on gluten, now, keeping... -
ARCHIVED Enterolab
confusedks replied to confusedks's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Nancy and Rachel, I see both of your points. I, like BOTH of you, think Gluten Intolerance is JUST AS VALID as Celiac. I think the reason I started this thread is because I felt like when I went to the Celiac Foundation, they told me I "needed" to get diagnosed. I think that people have strong reactions to gluten even if they don't have the Celiac Gene... -

confusedks replied to JerryK's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff

ARCHIVED Enterolab
confusedks replied to confusedks's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hello everybody, thank you for all of your responses. I am going to try to see a GI dr and then an allergist as soon as we get the new insurance. I should be getting the Enterolab results in about a week or two. I am on the road to getting better, but am frustrated in the meantime. Thanks for all the great advice. I have had thyroid panels, but who knows... -
ARCHIVED Enterolab
confusedks replied to confusedks's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Thank you everybody, I went with them because we didn't want preexisting. I thought he sounded credentialed and experienced enough also which is why I was really surprised when the woman at celiac disease Foundation said that. As far as the symptoms I am still having, stomach aches, the big D, MAJOR bloating and weight gain, and then weight loss. I can...
