  4. I think I am allergic to corn, soy and/or eggs. I was wondering if anyone has lists for the "hidden" names for these ingredients. I have googled it and have had no such luck. I am looking for a list similar to the one on this site about "Forbidden Foods on the Gluten Free Diet." I don't know if this sort of thing even exists, but just thought I'd try. ...

  7. Rachel, In my experience at first, I eliminated all dairy and "dairy-free" things, and it did nothing! I noticed no improvements and was feeling quite frustrated. Then I just went crazy and thought that it didn't matter if I had ice cream, etc. Then I really was desperate and decided to go Gluten and Dairy/Casein Free. I have been strictly (except the odd...

  9. Nobody has mentioned Trader Joe's brand brown rice pasta. I love it and can't tell a difference. I haven't tried Tinkyada so I don't have much to compare it to. Kassandra
  10. Have you read Living Gluten Free For Dummies? It's by Dana Korn...it's really funny. It's not as much a "chapter book" but it I read it like it is. And she says in the beginning you can read it like a chapter book, or use it as a reference book. Kassandra
  11. I know that I can't drink OJ because it is wayyy to acidic. It is really hard on my stomach. This and chilli...like someone said...OUCH! I don't think it's the gluten problem, but probably the fact that oj is really acidic. Kassandra
  12. Yea the rice milk was their brand. Kassandra
  13. I went to Trader Joe's today and they have a few new gluten-free things! Some may not be new to you guys, but maybe they started carrying them at my location. They had a Chocolate Cake, Tiramisu, pancakes, waffles and rice milk. The cakes aren't dairy free, but the rest is! I can't wait to try them. We bought the pancakes, rice milk and waffles. We usually...
  14. Thanks for the advice. I have been given so many pain killers that I'm so constipated and they have me meds but I think I'm getting glutened! I talked to the dietician and she was helpful but then she gave me a paper about being gluten-free and when she gave it to me she said to becareful of barley...DUH!! I could have told her about being gluten-free! Then...

  16. Hello everybody.its a long story but I have been in the hospital since Wednesday night. I am here because of my back but I reacted to a pain med and have had a terrible stomach ache since last nite. They have given me pepcid thru my IV and I was given colace for constipation cuz vicodin and morphine have been blocking me up. They just have me mylanta and...
  17. I got MRI results back. I have a 7mm disc bulge at L5S1. I was given a pain patch but also vicodin and neither did anything so they're waiting to find out if I need surgery before they give me anything else. The weird thing is I had an MRI in November and this same bulge was only 3 mm. What's going on? Everybody pray for me bcuz I have a meeting with the...
  18. Thank you all for your help. I went to my back doctor and I failed the nerve tests. My right leg is screwed. He admitted me to the hospital because it is extremely urgent. I'm going to have an IV started soon and they are talking about which medicine to give me. Then I'm going to go for an MRI and the disc bulge specialist surgeon is going to look over my...
  19. Does anybody know of anything other than a chiropractor because I never have good luck with them.
  20. I used to fly alone all the time. I'm 16 and still do it but the first time I flew I was 7 from LA to Seattle Washington. It wasn't a big deal and I loved doing it. Make sure she brings things to do and some snacks bcuz I thought the food was gross and they ran out of kids meals. Lol. And I had to wear a BRIGHT red necklace with unaccompanied minor written...
  21. Paula, If and when he gets an account if he ever wants to talk about celiac or living gluten-free you can feel free to have him contact me if he wants. Also I am going to start a support group so I liked your suggestion about not just posting celiac and including wheat and gluten intolerance! Thanks and good luck! Kassandra
  22. Omg! I don't know what is going on but I think I'm having sciatica and I am at school in the nurses office and had to be wheeled in here becuse I couldn't walk. I have finals starting tomorrow and I don't know what I'm going to do! This pain is unlike any other. I don't even know if ice posted this in the right place. I have vicodin at home for pain but it...
  23. Paula, I am 16 and I can relate to the whole divorced family situation. I am gluten and casein/dairy intolerant. It is SO hard as a teenager to go through this at school especially. These years are really hard without any differences, let alone when you have strict dietary restrictions, it makes it even harder. It sounds like he doesn't want to be left...
  24. whattodo, That is really interesting because I had a naturopath tell me a while ago before I knew about my gluten problem, that I should eat potato soup (DAIRY FREE.) She told me it would be really soothing on my stomach. It's easy to digest and it fills you up and there IS something in potatoes that is healing. We used gluten-free chicken or vegetable...
  25. Thank you for your responses. We are in the middle of getting new insurance so I will hopefully be able to get to my hematologist about the anemia. I have been anemic for over a year and it is impossible to get rid of!! I think that is part of what is causing the exhaustion, but I can't tolerate the oral iron so we resorted to IV's, but they cost a fortune...
