  1. Maybe sometimes we need reminders of just how bad things were before...to stick with our new commitments. Hope you feel better soon. So far I am very pleased with how much better I am on SCD. I'm not ready to risk it yet! On the yogurt, my doctor told me that the bacteria exponentially increase every few hours, I forgot how many hours. So he was...
  2. Donna, I was gaining weight before so easily it was like breathing it on. Must have been related to gluten and carb maldigestion. Did you lose on the SCD when you did it? Yay on the driving! The foot pain sounds really bad. Maybe a mini tramp to help lymph flow? Sherry
  3. Makes sense to me. That's what is different about what's happening with me, steadily getting worse since stopping Zithromax in terms of joint/muscle pain. I am thinking that my immune system is still not strong enough and it might be because of the gut/liver issues. If the SCD continues to help maybe that plus the Vitamin D will be enough to get the...
  4. Sometimes experience precedes science and sometimes science precedes experience. I appreciate having a practitioner that blends both well. For me it seems easier to follow the book, then when/if I am well, experiement beyond that. I don't have the time and energy to research each food, but am interested if someone else finds that data.
  5. What about some of the fudge made with agave and coconut oil, Kassandra? Thankfully I am really losing weight again on the SCD but feel quite satisfied. But I am getting toward being in the ball park. Hopefully when I get to the right weight it will hold. Carla, I am cleaning too, but I am not going to push myself to do those extra things! Sherry
  6. That's terrific, Carla. Sure hope you can maintain without abx. I was hoping I could do without, but anyway it was nice to have a 2 month break from Zith. Sherry
  7. So you get air hunger with herx but not sweats? I'm taking glutathione by shot twice a week. The liquid doesn't sound pleasant. I didn't test well for anything but the injectable. I'm actually feeling reasonably well, more energy. I haven't had a day that I just had to lay around for weeks, and only 2-3 since I have been in the US (full days that is...
  8. He said no chicory, FOS, or inulin at least initially; his comment was they are very hard to digest. Ali, I agree that SCD might help your husband. What I have learned on this forum and especially on the OMG thread is that gluten sensitivity can come alongside a number of problems that hit the gut. So there could be something else going on that is stressing...
  9. Carla sorry to hear that you are down again and hope it is a short and light herx. I wish I could time, but usually can't. Sherry
  10. Shay, I agree to some degree about symptoms, when these are clear-cut. Sounds like you have made a great decision for yourself that is working. The thing is, I have very little abdominal symptoms at all, and what I do have is quite mild. I'm probably one of the silent celiacs. I have more systemic symptoms like fatigue, brain fog and joint/muscle...
  11. Yes he does. Adults as well as kids; he now treats a lot of autistic children. He also has a background in biochemistry (undergrad). I find that he is pretty flexible when he thinks we can be. He told me he typically doesn't like "protocols" because one has to adjust it for everyone. He told me to make the yogurt with other things like vegetables, nut...
  12. Sounds excellent Birdie, what encouraging news! Sherry
  13. My doctor today said that he thought at least 2 months of being really strict is important, then it is less of an issue to encounter small amounts of things like inulin. My overall impression was that I should stick to it closely. He did say it was fine to use the yogurt I make as a culture. He said the organisms can mutate but once the quality of the...
  14. Just found out on another forum--their home and shop was totally destroyed by fire after a lightening strike the end of July. So I guess my order is pretty well backlogged. Sherry
  15. Anyone know if Humaworm is out of business? I've not received my last order, I have emailed 4 times to all the addresses on the website with no response, and the phone number is out of service.
  16. I had no idea of the benefits of miso. I love miso soup, but alas, no soy for me. Sherry
  17. Quick check-in. My LLMD thinks the pain is due to lyme, not mercury or other things. I am to alternate Zithromax and Enula, 2 weeks on each for two rotations, then let him know how I am doing. (ART says I can't use them together). He is basically throwing out the last vitamin D result as it totally doesn't make sense. The redone lab is more accurate...
  18. Ditto for me! Sherry
  19. With multiple food sensitivities, my allergist always suggested a four day food rotation to avoid this kind of reaction. Sherry
  20. Shay I am interested in the 3 day cycle or so you are having. I see that with BM amounts. I have a really good amount and go several times one day and then back to none or almost none for a few. Diet is pretty stable so it is hard to explain. I think I am still getting rid of parasites even though I don't see much; The Enula I am on for babesia infection...
  21. Donna, there can be delayed reactions to foods. There can also be a build up period before you react. Makes it so hard to trace. No other changes in meds lately? Sherry
  22. I agree with having balance. After many years of chronic illness, one thing I've tried to do is keep busy with life and what I CAN do. I've ended up just mostly reading this thread to try to stay caught up and not too much else except when I really need info. I have erlichia as a co-infection. Supposedly it is easy to treat, but mine has stayed around...
  23. Yep, seems to me that the two are not significantly different in symptoms. I wonder at my age how I'm supposed to tell? Sherry
  24. [quote name='nora_n' date='Aug 23 2008, 05:21 PM' post='459684' Sherry, about your 10 000 units, the biggest allowed doses are 400 units here. That would mean she would have to use 25 of our tablets here, a quarter box a day. Is not gonna happen
  25. Will they let you schedule more than one appointment?
