You rock! I absolutely LOVE to hear from our folks in the armed services who are happy and enthustiastic about what they do. Thank you for keeping us all safe! I hope your gluten free life in our Air Force treats you well

I too have eaten both of the pebbles for close to 7 years without ever having an issue. I'm not sure I've heard of anyone being sick from it either, on this board, but sometimes threads get a little too long for my attention span. Your daughter is young and maybe the cereal is a bit more sugar than she's accustomed to?

Can you please tell us the name of this new candy?

You can definitely get shingles more than once. My boyfriend who is not a celiac has gotten three cases of shingles in the past year, which is rare but it is possible.

I used to cheat back around when I was first diagnosed, it was almost like an eating disorder, I'd go on gluten binges when I knew I didn't have anywhere to go on weekends..After each time, I didn't understand why I'd do it because the stuff didn't even taste that good to me anymore. Finally, I grew up and just realized I'd never be better (or as good as I could be) if I didn't stop.
My aunt and cousin all have undiagnosed celiac disease and refuse to educate themselves so they deny that they have the disease or a gluten intolerance. Instead, they are miserable and sick a lot and constantly complaining about struggling with their weight. I've attempted to educate them and tell them how much better they'd feel but to no avail!

I love the gluten-free Bisquick and definitely think the biscuits are fantastic....so does my gluten consuming boyfriend. We just made them this week with cheddar cheese and some garlic! My favorite biscuits however are 123 Gluten Free mix but they are SO difficult to make!

I've had no issues with Berry Berry Kix either!

I'm not sure how accurate the gluten through the skin thing is. All of the studies I've ever seen says otherwise.
I do not avoid gluten containing products because I don't have DH and I've honestly never noticed any problems. Some people well say that you get shampoo in your mouth without realizing it, which is possible but even though I'm sensitive, its never caused a problem for me.
Its up to you and how you live your life!

I love you and all your delicious recipes...I've made almost everything you post and cannot wait to try this.
You are fabulous!

ok, so Brachs IS safe?
-
what school do you go to? i went to college down there and might be able to help!

I've never had any reaction to any Schar product...but I don't have trouble with MSG.

Has anyone tried Rudi's gluten free breads?? I react to the Udi's brand so I was wondering what anyone's luck was with Rudi's.
How random is it that they both have the most similar names? Way to confuse us all!!
-
I made the pizza dough and thought it was really good but be careful...my dough was pretty runny which made it hard to flatten into the crust, it really does rise!! I'd recommend using a little less liquid but I really enjoyed them!

I actually love the against the grain bagels...if I'm not careful, my boyfriend will eat them all!

No Worries
I'm pretty easy going!! I'd just never intentionally offend anyone!! I definitely get what you're saying about unreliable testing for other intolerances but i'm 100% sure I don't have anything other than celiac disease...gluten and oats intolerance. I even have tried experimenting with other products that have the exact same ingredients as Udi's with no reaction whatsoever, so I just figured that I'd respectfully decline on their products. That being said I'm so happy that they are in existence and take care of those celiacs...super sensitive or not (which I'm not super sensitive so it makes it even stranger)!
I thought it was odd that it gave my boyfriend some issues too...which made me think maybe it has something to do with the amount of xanathan gum in the product which can sometimes act as a laxative.
or we're both weird special snowflakes
I haven't quite decided!!

oh my gosh...I want this RIGHT NOW!!!!
-
hmm...it could've been a burnt hashbrown....I didn't think of that one.
I always did love McDonald's fries...maybe because I know they're bad for you which is why they're so delish. Perhaps I'll give her another go!
-
I also question the buffalo chicken wings!!

It helps to have family near Hanover, PA..they sent me some bags. I think these are great but MAN are they hard to bite!! Even my dog had a tough time breaking them. Talk about a crunch to them!

I actually hate being catered to with my family. I really don't like to stand out and make people change everything just for me, it makes me really uncomfortable. That being said...my family does it because they're my family. Sometimes, its not sucessful and sometimes its great but the fact that they even want to try is enough for me! It seems like your family is trying for sure, but there is definitely a learning curve. I've been a celiac for almost 7 years and sometimes my dad still offers me pretzels haha and then is like, "oh...whoops" and then picks on me telling me how delicious they are. That stuff doesn't bother me.
I tend to bring my own desserts or food to those events, most of the time people don't even know its gluten free and they chow them up!
I know its hard not to be overprotective of your daughter, the initial years of diagnosis can be quite challenging but it sounds like your family has been more sensitive than most stories I've heard on this board!

My personal favorite is..."but it says all-purpose unbleached white flour...that's not wheat"
*slaps hand to forehead*
I definitely think people are nuts if they think they'll lose weight by going gluten free...I know some people DO lose weight but I mean...a lot of the way you make up for the lack of ingredients is by adding lots of sugar to gluten free desserts
haha
A girl on facebook sent me a message saying she tried those Riceworks Chips and loved them, so she's going to go gluten free and asked me to help. I told her no.
In my defense, I barely know this person and how she even knew about my eating habits is beyond me.

Unfortunately there's really not much to do but weather the storm...It takes several days for me to recover too. I typically stick to bland foods and water or sprite to try to keep my stomach settled. I know some people take some vitamins or some sort of upset stomach pill. I've been known to live off of immodium for several days which I absolutely don't recommend because its terrible for your body, but sometimes life happens and you have to! I've also taken laxatives to try to rush the process along...also not recommended.
Rice always seems to make me feel better...it soaks up some of the stuff in my belly, I always eat that when I'm feeling sick.
I hope you start to feel better soon!

This was definitely the first I have heard of McDonald's using dedicated fryers, but I will be the first to admit that I zoned out after the first 1082913712 pages during the initial debate
I have, however, in the past when eating those evil fries, found pieces of fried chicken or bits of coating in the bottom of the fry thing...which to me tells me they're sharing something they shouldn't!!
I totally forgot about Five Guys. LOVE THEM!

I've gotten them at Wegeman's and at Snyder's of Hanover. (it helps having relatives who live in that area
