  1. Hi Motherof2boys. You have found a wonderful resource with this website. Here is a list of companies that do not hide the gluten in their labels . . . so if you don't see wheat, rye, barley, or oats listed, you do not have to worry about that generic term "natural flavoring" Open Original Shared Link Our pedGI recommended all siblings be...
  2. They have not had Kaboom before but they've had enough of the other stuff to know that it does NOT contain faerie pixie dust. Also, part of the kid code that is passed from one to another (probably on the school bus) that anything of a natural shade of brown and green is considered "healthy" and must be resisted. It gets harder for them to have defined...
  3. OK, I'll buy that . . . but to this . . . I laugh They can spot healthy additives a mile away . . . "What is this brown natural looking stuff amidst all of my brightly coloUred dehydrated marshmallows!!!!! You're trying to get us to eat something healthy again, aren't you???? Didn't you learn your lesson when you tried to serve us...
  4. Oh I've been here . . . off and on . . . not a whole lot of funny in my head but I've been enjoying reading along. Son has given me his cold. I need a nap but the kids will be getting off of the bus in about 45 minutes and a really don't want need to clean the bathrooms. The exciting news of the day (as reported on another thread) is that I found another...
  5. Agreed . . . . . . and apparently you have a way with pictures, too.
  6. Here's an old thread that actually had some activity not too long ago about Parkinson's Open Original Shared Link
  7. Just an FYI . . . I found Kaboom at Krogers today. It is also General Mills - no gluten sources listed - must have read the label a half dozen times. It's got the dehydrated marshmallows like Lucky Charms . . . heehehe, funny what little things give us a thrill.
  8. Hello, My name is Janet and I am a loser . . . And this is my standard way of losing something: Hey this <fill in the blank> is really important. I would hate to lose it. I better put it in a safe place. . . never to be seen again.
  9. Where??? Where??? What scene??? I HAVE TO KNOW!!!!! I can't believe I am surrounded by all of this . . . stardom? Movie Stars and Celiac Celebrity SpokesModels!!! What have I got to compare?? A couple of interviews on the news? They were both speaking parts . . . does that count?
  10. With the GI symptoms and the high IgA, that does sound like gluten could be a problem. Small sizes could be too. You might want to think about a trial diet for both of them. If you are already doing it for yourself, it is really not that difficult to do. I think a good discussion with the GI is in order.
  11. I don't suppose we could find you on youtube, huh? Oh yes, that's us!!!! My son is actually 27 but he's small for his age and we pass him off as an 8-yr old.
  12. My question would be . . . what else is going on? Are there any other symptoms besides elevated IgA? We are currently going through this with my son. He was only tested because his sister was diagnosed with celiac. His tTG level was normal (hers wasn't). His IgA level was elevated (hers was too). He has no GI symptoms (or behavioral or anything else...
  13. Been there!! Done that!!! Laughing at your topic title . . . how can we NOT come and read your rant with a title like that!!! You know that somebody here has a recipe that you're looking for/quite can't remember. I'm sure there are thousands of gluten-free cookbook owners here. Ask if there is something in particular you would like for us...
  14. Good Morning All!!! Terrible headache this morning . . . out drinking last night??? No!! We were at my son's pinewood derby where they raced approximately 100 cars. My son's car came in 6th overall and was he happy? . . . not really because last year he came in 2nd overall. He just doesn't get that most of the boys go home with nothing but a participation...
  15. Ian's mom . . . Wegman's is suppose to be fantastic . . . extremely Celiac Friendly!! If you want some good Wegman's advice, I suggest you PM blueeyedmanda. She's their number one fan!!
  16. I don't think most of you saw Laura's initial post . . . before she fixed it!!! It had a size=1 . . . I wasn't sure if she was having trouble with the font size or if she was bragging! I purchased Monty Python's The Holy Grail yesterday. I've always wanted that DVD and all the recent talk made me finally go out and get it. Watched it this morning...
  17. So this has me intrigued . . . is Open Original Shared Link what you saw? I've never seen one before. OK . . . a couple of housekeeping item, so to speak . . . (this is the only place I do housekeeping items . . . ) Lexi and Sue - congratulations on you anniversaries - (heeheehee button pushing - I never forget) I am especially proud...
  18. Two years ago, my daughter had a terrible case of stomach flu. She had vomitting and diarrhea for about a week. It had gotten to the point where they were starting to test if she had parasites or some other bacterial infection when it cleared up. I think this was the trigger for her celiac and it left her with acid reflux that would come and go. Eventually...
  19. Ohhhhh, so that's why I've been gaining weight . . . because Bev is treating Lyme.
  20. Or a baby ruth formed to look like a person. . . ewwwww?
  21. Don't forget to use gluten-free cream of chicken soup. Campbell's is NOT. I prefer to make my own. My first time I bought a can and I thought it was pretty nasty stuff . . . I think it was made by Health Valley.
  22. I think you can add them if you are starting a topic but now that I think about it, I don't know that they work anymore since Scott changed the format. I think I used the green guy when I started the green guy emoticon thread but he doesn't show up anymore . . . what a waste!!! Somebody should complain . . . you do it, Emily.
  23. So anything "Pie" flavoUred is OK with Julie!!!!
  24. She is currently on 15mg/day. However, the reflux would break through every 10 days or so. Before she was diagnosed with celiac, they were talking about doubling it. She was put on erythromycin for gastroparesis. She was taking a low dose 30 minutes before each meal to increase motility. First time around she was on it for about 2 months (May&June...
  25. I agree with Kassandra. I don't think one week is long enough. Some/many may see a difference but not all. My daughter has been gluten free since April. Two weeks ago was the first time I knew she had been glutened and I saw a reaction. But I have to tell you, I can't believe that I would have gone that long without messing up somewhere. Also, we...
