  1. Emily, your last post looked like it should be run in a "Pet Medicine" Newspaper Column. Your av of Gus would be the photo that ran with it. People write in with their questions . . . Dear Gus, My pet yeti keeps scootin' across the carpet, driveway, deck . . . anything really, whilst sitting on his bottom. What's going on? Can you help? Signed...
  2. Margaret, I feel like I'm hi-jacking your thread but I think I'm in the same place as you right now and hopefully the questions that I ask will help you with your decision, too. Tamara, with four gluten-free/cf kids, I consider you an expert. What do you use for butter, yogurt, milk and cheese? These are all beloved staples of my daughter's diet. When...
  3. It appears to me that it would freeze OK. The consistency might change a bit after freezing. I'd try it and then when you go to use it next time, just do one or two dogs and have a taste test before you fry a whole batch.
  4. I don't really have anything to add about your husband. I think the other posters conveyed my thoughts as well. . . But I did want to add . . . Kudos to your daughter!!! You didn't say how old she is but she handled herself well. Speaking up for herself and noticing and refusing food that would cause her harm!! Good for her!
  5. You mean because he's nice??? Appalling!!!! They can make people do that??!!?? They can paint their own damn signs!!
  6. Emily - The Comeback Queen. I sure he would have been left speechless. Susie - Mike sounds like the nice one. Is he married?
  7. Just for future reference, Sarah, you're suppose to document these types of meetings with a photo that is then posted as your av!!!! Not that we don't believe you . . . (suurrrre she ran into Kara's mom)
  8. I always liked the traditional Oh Yeahhhhhh?
  9. Or his cats . . . they seem quite knowledgable too. Good Luck Emily!
  10. The villi in the small intestine produce the enzyme to process lactose. It is a different kind of test that determines if the intestine is producing the enzyme. I do believe there are different levels of lactose intolerance. My daughter's test showed what the normal range should be and she tested below normal but did appear to have produced some of the...
  11. Tamara, how long were your kids on them? Do you notice a relapse of symptoms when they come off of them? Do you wean them off? Could you give us the name brand that you use since we know it will be gluten-free?
  12. You know how you kind of skip over words/punctuation or add them in where you think you see them . . . all subconsiously . . . this is what I read . . . Sillies, the flakes in the office have started falling. . . and I'm not talking snowflakes
  13. I have a friend who has a friend whose dog got to the point where she wouldn't go unless someone gave the command "go pee".
  14. Amanda, Hugs and Prayers for you and your sister. I know it's unsettling news, but thank goodness she didn't let this go and persued insurance coverage and got a colonoscopy. I couldn't agree with this more . . . stay on her to keep looking for answers!!
  15. Oh Margaret, I feel for you!!! We still have issues with my daughter and dairy is under the spot light. That's a big part of her protein!!! So he won't eat hot dogs or chicken nuggets???!!!! Would he eat homemade popsicles for you? I make smoothies for my kids all the time: V-8 splash juice with bananas and frozen strawberries, mangos, blueberries...
  16. HAHAHAHA . . . OUT LOUD LAFFIN'
  17. Yes . . . but apparently you are well-matched with your crazy old dog! You know how some women always want someone to go into the restroom with them (at bars/restaurants)? Sounds like Annie is one of those types. I have to tell a Maggie (my old dog) story now. Starting when she was young, whenever she would go to the bathroom, I would tell her "good...
  18. Young, foolish, and limber . . . She could really arch her back standing at the urinal and make it in . . . what a picture she paints!
  19. Nope . . . I'm headed to the port-o-let. Wipe nasty things away, touch things only with a tissue in my hand. . . that's why I carry an economy size box of tissue in my purse. Agreed . . . and although I've never met Uncle Ray, I have a feeling he's a bit of a Smart Ass himself. OK, I do not have a diarrhea story to share . . . I'm...
  20. Oh . . . you DARED me . . . that's hard to resist!! But seeing how I only wear mascara and chapstick on a daily basis, even a free sample doesn't do it for me. My friend wanted me to try Bare Escentials (is that the one on TV?) Anyway, I got the starter kit over a year ago and have not even cracked it open. My friends keep trying to get me to wear...
  21. I just had to pop in to say . . . that I can't believe you have managed to talk 40 pages worth of make-up!!! It's like listening in at a slumber party where you are all doing make-overs on each other!! OK . . . carry on! (and congrats Joni on your numbers!)
  22. Unfortunately, this is what the writers had to wait around for . . . no more new shows so finally the public will start getting upset, quit watching, advertisors get mad and pull commercials, yaddah, yaddah, yaddah!!! Even if they start writing right away, then they've got to get to filming and editting . . . I think it's going to be awhile!!!
  23. It really isn't about not wanting to have to pack a lunch . . . we pack a lunch the other 14 days (in the 15 day lunch cycle). It was just that she got to buy her lunch like the other kids. And I really thought it would be safe since all the items were prepackaged. I just hadn't taken into consideration supplier changes. There was nothing in place that...
  24. A friend of mine had a daughter with Celiac disease. She told me she worked with the school district's dietician to determine which days her daughter could buy the hot lunch. I'm in a different school district, so this year, I talked with OUR school dietician. We determined that my daughter could have the hot dog (not bun) the hamburger (no bun) and the...
