  1. Yeah . . . can't drink Tequila anymore . . . but that had nothing to do with the phluugh . . . Mysterious Chunky Chicken Puke . . . ewwwwww . . .
  2. I'll try to be brief . . . My daughter was diagnosed with celiac disease 3 years ago. All of the immediate family were tested (& negative). I had no symptoms but by that time I had already read plenty of posts that said "I didn't even realize <insert symptom> was a problem until I removed gluten." I tried a 6 wk trial diet after my test just...
  3. Depends on what's made you sick . . . I had the phlooh once and the last thing I had to eat before I got sick was mint chocolate chip ice cream . . . I used to love it, now I can't stand it.
  4. I guy I used to work with swore that extra tough/long workouts (to raise your body temp and burn it out of you) followed by large amounts of alcohol (to help you pass out sleep) were the keys to getting over illnesses quickly.
  5. Judy and Bunnie posting on the same page!!! How's about them apples??!!! Hi ya guys. Bunnie, so sorry about the shingles. Dope yerselph up real good and start typing like Jess under the influence and we'll see if we can figger it out. Skeeter's vomitousness went into remission over the summer . . . hmmmmmm . . . with one incident that occurred...
  6. I'm just thankful that she doesn't ask us to help pack and load furniture. By the way, did I mention that we bought a house?? . . . OK, OK . . . so it's the same house that we bought last time . . . we refinanced and are doing a 15 year loan so at least we chopped about 7 years off the amount of time it will take us to pay this puppy off . . . and there...
  7. Alex, keep in mind that you are looking at a list from 2005 which should probably be double checked. However, there is a LOT of safe candy available to sooth your sweet tooth.
  8. In the terms of your former statesmen . . . YeeHaw!!!
  9. lm, Have you tried using one of those pizza pans with the perferated holes in it? Makes all the difference in the world in getting the crust crispy (while only baking once ). Something like this: Open Original Shared Link I found a cheapo one at Target.
  10. Patti, Did you sell your house? . . . did the real estate company do a buyout? . . . do Mark's company do a buyout? . . . can nae remember the details. Did we discuss this? Glad to hear you'r closin' up shop in Texarse and gettin' all yer stuph up to Joisey. Em . . . I thought they were talkin' about Tea also and then decided it was the Joisey Housewife...
  11. Udi's . . . hands down . . . I'm not gluten free, my daughter is, and I think this is the best store bought gluten-free bread out there. It's soft enough to make a sandwich (everything else you have to toast first IMO), makes a great grilled cheese, and the crust is edible (everything else, I would cut off the crust and use for bread crumbs because the crusts...
  12. Yum!!! Those looked good. I have tried to make them before and it was a big mess . . . I think the key might be in the "freezing".
  13. Ditto!!! . . . as well as saphe travels for Jess!!!
  14. Yeah, Lara Bars may have more carbs than you want. I mentioned them since you said that you do eat fruit. However, the Lara bars use primarily dates which tend to be higher carb. They are NOT covered in chocolate. They tend to be fruit and nuts. The ingredients on the two types that I have in my pantry are (1) Peanut Butter Cookie with the following...
  15. OMG!!! . . . that needs to come wif some kind of warning!!!
  16. I'm not gluten free. My daughter was diagnosed 3 years ago and as it's not realistic to expect a (then) 6 year old to shop or cook for herself . . . not only did she not have a large enough allowance to pay for her groceries, she wasn't allowed to turn on the stove . . . I've learned a LOT in the last three years!!!
  17. Hardboiled eggs done ahead for those days that you don't have time to cook. How about Lara bars?
  18. Are you convinced?? . . . It sounds like you are . . . If you don't need it to convince yourself to stick to the diet, then I personally would skip it. Something else to consider . . . do you need an official diagnosis for anything? I don't know how old you are, but schools/colleges may need an official diagnosis in order to make accomodations. Some docs...
  19. Just wondering if any of you were tested for RA or Lupus . . . or did anyone have a positive ANA test but follow-up/more specific testing for RA/Lupus didn't result in a RA or Lupus diagnosis?
  20. Yep . . . I just kind of lucked into seeing it . . . I had a bad feeling at the beginning when it was sounding like a weight-loss fad. I thought the doc did a pretty good job of setting the record straight.
  21. Six months after my daughter went gluten free she had an item (accidently) that had a fair (but not majority) amount of wheat in it. She reacted within the hour with nausea and regurgitation (spitting/vomitting up mouthfuls of food for the rest of the day). Her initial doc thought it was further evidence of her gluten problem. Her 2nd doc (not by choice...
  22. I've got photo shop skills, you know . . . I can fix that for ya!!! :jealousphace:
