  6. When you have a number of units that needs to be changed to equal a different unit using equivilants, I learned in chemistry, but use in daily life all the time such as: Recipe calls for 3.5 tablespoons of flour but my tablespoons are all dirty and all I have in the drawer are 1/2 tsp's, so goes like this: 3.5TBS /3 tsp /2 1/2tsp's= 21 1/2 tsp...
  7. OMG, this is my life!! Hubby is in outside sales for Sherwin-Williams (paint company) and EVERYTHING I pick out for the house is always wrong because "too much blue in it" or red, or yellow, or please shoot me cuz NO ONE ELSE CAN TELL!!!! 8. Fast, easy, and artery clogging-- Fried Cheese! Heat a skillet, med-hi heat I prefer shredded or sliced cheddar Drop onto hot skillet-if using shredded, just a small handfull When the edges turn brown, flip over Fry till nice and golden brown Remove and briefly place onto a paper towel to soak up some of the grease HEAVEN!!
  9. So, on the radio today, they're giving away Black Eyed Peas tickets, and to get the tickets, you have to call in and tell your story about a time you got a black eye--the best experience gets the tickets. I have no tickets to give away, but thought it would be a phu(ny) way to end the week I shall start: In high school I worked at this tiny restaurant...
  10. Tis true!! I had some sort of advanced math analysis class. It was only offered once a day and only 10 of us were crazy enough to take it! I was also not a big fan of geometry-theorems, postulates, axioms, arrrrrgh I don't want assumed answers, I want a solid equation, solid answer. (I also LURVE stoichiometry, I still use it daily, and sometimes for...

How sad is it that for my undergrad pre-med I was going to major in mathmatics (cuz everyone else...
  12. Hi Whitney! I'm down in Vancouver, otherwise, I take you to coffee so we could chat! I understand what you're going through and I know you will get all the support you could possibly need here at this site! How old are you and if you're living at home, is your family supportive? I've rediscovered a love of baking over the last few years. I see it...
  13. I've made little pizza pockets out of the Pamela's baking mix before using the biscuit recipe, works great-but it's more of a crude, pat-out-use-your-fingers-make-a-mess type of thing. I'm not sure how well it would work for larger calzones. I've really only seen them make using a yeast bread/pizza dough recipe. Not sure if that helped
  14. Hope you slept well, all sounds like sumphin outuva spooky movie--deserted island, driving across a bridge at night, no power, everything dark...... You alive?????
  15. So sorry I missed it, but HAPPY BELATED MOTHER'S DAY GNIKKKK!!! How could I forget this with you being so kind as to take Stanley in on his travels Hope everyone else is good. I'm still recovering from my race on Sunday. Tis hard to go up and down stairs!!

  17. They are topics you've not read yet or topics you've read, but there are new posts that have been added since your last visit. When you click on the arrow, it will take you to the "first unread post" Hope that helped
  18. Tis a 5200. Looks like a blender but can be used as a food processer. I have the dry container too so I can chop up chocolate, nuts, etc... But in the regular wet container-for instance, you can drop in some chopped carrots, pulse on/off a few times and you have shredded carrots, or onions, or whatever. I make ice cream with mine too with frozen bananas...
  19. Your Skeeter and my Maddie should hang out, sounds like they are 2 academic peas in a pod! When you were talking about the mucus/sinus issue, I know it sounded familiar. I read the following in an article about CVS: What triggers CVS? Many people can identify a specific condition or event that triggered an episode, such as an infection. Common triggers...
  20. This is what I do because I'm using my blend for everything, and if I just need it for a thickener, I don't want to waste the expensive xanthan gum on that. I also keep the gum in the freezer once it's been opened. I read that somewhere...
  21. I have a Kitchenaid mixer I've had for 12 years, still works as great as ever, and I use it a lot. However, I've recently chucked my food processor and blender in place of a Vitamix. I am in LURVE!!! That sucker does EVERYTHING. You can even make bread dough in it! If you're looking for 1 appliance to function as both, you can't go wrong with the Vitamix...
  22. How frequently does she get nauseous in the shower? Does she get dizzy too? Can she feel her heart pounding and/or racing heartrate? How does she do in heat? Standing and or walking around on a really hot day?
  23. Which post? Was it removed or just not "approved" yet?
  24. I was gonna say, "Oh my gosh, us too!" But since we live in the same side of the same state, it sounds a little stupid
