  1. Hi Sherry- Being gluten free cut down on a lot of system wide inflammation/pain and dizziness and weakness. At least i am able to get out of bed on most days for a good part of the day. My tests from Entero said i had no malabsorption which I find amazing... Regarding Lyme, Were your tests positive from Igenex? My Igenex tests were negative...
  2. Hi all- Recently I wrote about many reactions to liver cleanses, glutathione cream and various meds. When people wrote back sulfur metabolism issues was listed as a possible cause. I have read up on it and I am sure I have this. I recently thought I was having issues with balsamic vinegar because of gluten, but I now only realize it was the sulfites...
  3. Bea- Thanks for all of your help. I do some of the things you wrote about. And I am a bit confused about the Pekana stags. They claim to be gluten free and for a time their renal remeday - Renelix helped me. I think I just had my first case of gout so who knows if that was helping me. I went on the Renelix because my amino acid panel showed my Cystiene...
  4. Rachel- Thanks for getting back to me. I have seen your picture a lot and have read many of your posts on the thread "OMG...I think I am on to something." I think it was your posting that I learned about high oxalate foods - as I have fibromyalgia. Anyway, I always remember you because I too, have Graves and have had radioactive iodine. You wrote...
  5. I have endometriosis and severe PMS. I have been off gluten for 9 months now and very little has improved other than my vestiblular neuritis. I am much older than your daughter, so healing for me will take much longer. But, thanks.
  6. Hi Carla- Thanks for writing. I have been on this thread on and off over the past year but mainly as a grazer. Thanks for your input, but what I stated in my post is that it is merely MY OPINION. I don't ever want to offend anyone's sensibilities, I can only speak from my extensive experience. I think you are lucky to be doing so well; I know a lot...
  7. Hi all- I read a thread from two years ago, but I thought i would start a new one. I am a little scared. Any herb, cleanse I try gives me terrible symptoms and I am very worried about my liver. In the past two months I have tried the following; Nystatin, Glutathione cream because of terrible side effects, I tried a homeopathic liver cleanse called...
  8. Hello- I really feel for you and all you are going through. I understand how you feel and I have almost all of the symptoms you listed and I can only eat about 6 foods myself. I don't have Lyme's actually, but I must have many other viruses floating around. After much trial and error and being a guinea pig myself...my philosophy is firmly entrenched...
  9. I know i am late to this thread...but just to be clear in my nervous head (I get no gluten reaction whatsoever, it is a silent killer for me, so I have to go by labeling only to know if there is gluten in something): If we read the label on a Hershey's product and it does not list "natural flavors" or any other gluten derivatives of course, can we consider...
  10. Me too. I crash at about 3 and don't feel good again until 9 or 10 pm. Even on my best days, I am no good from this time slot. Is that an adrenaline, cortisol thing? Nancy
  11. Gemini- Thank you so much for this reply - both parts - about the gluten and about the balsamic vinegar. I did touch on a nerve, though, didn't I? One's mind can go crazy with gluten paranoia and you become afraid to eat, breath, wash, drink and in some people's case, have sex...I gain security from knowing the facts and the exceptions to the facts. ...
  12. Thanks so much for the encouragement and words of support. I really need it as we all do. I do feel overwhelmed especially today. I had a consult with my Naturopath last night and we discussed some OTHER things I may have going on - like kidney problems and even though I tested negative for Lyme by Igenex, she thinks I have it anyway and wants to see the...
  13. Haven't written in a while. Think of all of you often - as I am dealing with many of the same issues. Because of this thread, I stopped eating high oxalate foods and it really cut down on my pain as i have fibromyalgia. I recently had to stop taking my thyroid meds which I have to take as I have Grave's and then radioactive iodine and am now hypo. I...
  14. Hi- I started this thread. Someone misread what I wrote. I DO use gluten-free lipsticks...Of course I do. Also, I misspoke. For gluten to do damage to the villi is a big problem and to produce an auto-immune reaction is another big problem. You guys are correct. And the inflammatory response is no picnic. We all leave out foods for many reasons...
  15. So - I have had a set back for the past 8 weeks or more. In that time I did buy very expensive Balsamic Vinegar which only lists balsamic vinegar as an ingredient, and have had it almost every day. Then today, I ate at Legal Seafood. I saw that their Balsamic vinagraitte was not gluten-free...no biggie...out of curiousity I asked the source of the...
  16. Hello all- So, I have been having symptoms again...like I have been eating gluten...I get dizzy and woozy and a whole bunch of other symptoms. The only new things I have added to my diet/regimen are Wobenzym N and HLC Mindlinx by Pharmax. Now I searched and searched and asked questions and they both state that they are gluten free. And, besides, why...
  17. Thank you for letting me know. How do i find a good "herbalist" without having to go to a health food store and dealing with capsules and excipients, etc? Have you found some online?
  18. Hi all- I get so nervous about taking supplements since the excipient lists are not complete and or I don't if there is regulation over supplements, so I bought some tinctures, however, the tinctures have grain alcohol. I am reading conflicting info. Is grain alcohol distilled alcohol? Also, if a vitamin says "contains no gluten" on the label, are...
  19. Hi- I too have Fibromyalgia. I looked at your food journal and if I may, I would make one suggestion that may help you...it has helped me...cut out nightshade vegetables which are white potatoes, tomatoes, peppers and eggplant. They contain a protein very similar to gluten and the body confuses this protein with gluten and produces an immune response...
  20. Hi- I just bought the BRM gluten-free oats and on the back it states that some Celiacs may still have a reaction. I do not understand this. Does this mean there is a protein in oats that resembles the protein in gluten and that the immune system gets activated? Can anyone explain? Thanks for any help!!! Nancy
  21. Jin- Oh my goodness, I just saw your health timeline...I can't believe it...so much like mine. I just want to share mine, if that is OK because in my little world, friends and family cannot believe all of the health problems I have and can't understand the gluten connection or the battle I faced with the idiot doctors and the disbelief that one again...
  22. Hey all- I just stopped gluten about two months ago after I figured out I had Celiac and was making progress. I also stopped soy, corn, nightshades, chocolate, anything high in fat, red meat, eggs, and have been off dairy for two years. I am 41 and have had Celiac all my life without knowing it. Unfortunately, I have many diseases like Fibromyalgia...
  23. Rachel- I have problems with corn. Corn is hard to digest. Anything that is hard to digest, stay away from for a while. I ate only chicken soup and baby food for about 6 weeks. i am now able to eat raw vegetables and some other things like rice bread, rice products. I have only been gluten free for 2 months... It seems that if I eat anything that...
  24. I like the wheat free Tamari sauce, but wasn't sure if wheat free meant Gluten free. Nancy
