  1. Wow. How sad. Ive never heard of a company going from gluten free options to NONE. I really don't want to do business with them anymore. I may continue to pick up a few things there (other than their name brand, they do have some gluten free fiber supplements I like by the Yerba Prima brand) Not relating to celiac but another thing I noticed...
  2. *sigh* I knew they were bad news. I really worry that they have things that aren't on the ingrediants list. I should have known better. Oh well, lesson learned! I'm sure I'll be doing better by tomorrow. I'm giving everything I have from their company away.
  3. I had always used this brand in the past because they are very affordable. I have a whole new set of vitamins now that are gluten free but stupid me, yesterday was like "Maybe Ill try and use these old ones up" I looked at the ingrediants and didn't see anything to worry about and took three pills. Within 4 hours I could tell I'd been glutened...
  4. I take flax oil and use flax seeds all the time. I'm vegetarian so I cant have fish oil, and flax is a great way to get omega 3's. I know they are not the complete chain of fatty acids, but I feel like my body converts them without a problem. I really notice the difference when I take my oils. My nails start growing twice as fast, literally! Ive...
  5. I was out of town in MOnterey California the other day and had my first time dining out at ANY restaurant that has a gluten free menu. It was lovely, and such a relief to be able to just KNOW that the sauce is gluten free, etc. I had the spinach stir fried with garlic, and the flourless chocolate dome with rasberry sauce for desert. It was absolutely...
  6. LOL. I'm glad you guys said something about it because the "I love gluten" cafe was really weirding me out. I even googled it haaha!
  7. Sorry but I do think some people are just stupid. I don't mean not knowing everything gluten is in, that is understandable. But not knowing where flour comes from? Not knowing what french fries are made out of? Yeah. Ive known that stuff since I was 3 or 4. It's common knowledge.
  8. I dont really eat the candy but I do eat Hersheys special dark chocolate chips. I eat them a lot and am sure Id have a reaction to them if they contained gluten. They seem to be ok. Hope so anyway!
  9. Wow this thread was funny at first but now it literally hurts my brain reading it. Not knowing what crackers, french fries, pudding is made out of? I'm sorry but you would have to be pretty stupid for that to even be physically possible. Its common knowledge. And yes its VERY scary for nurses to have made it through medical school without any basic...
  10. You guys are almost making me cry right now (Im emo today, ugh) Just..its just actually hearing that someone else out there has gone through this (not that Id wish this on anyone) makes me feel so much less alone. Im so glad we are finally finding some relief and answers. I forgot if I mentioned, I also have had on again off again psoriasis which appears...
  11. Wow. I mean I already knew gluten was the cause of my skin condition, but hearing someone else say "acne doesn't itch" and about the scars..thats exactly whats been happening on my face and scalp for so many years now. And for all that time, I would always say "this doesnt seem like normal acne." It itches, its extremely painful at times. I went to countless...
  12. Ive looked at two so far and can't find it here, but Ill keep trying different stores! Its good to know mCcormick makes it. I havent seen it in the spice islands brand too. I wonder why its so hard to get around here.
  13. I;m worried about the Nori now. Is that the green wrap they use on the inside of the CA rolls?
  14. Hey everyone. I know McCormick spices are safe, but I looked through their entire line at the store the other day and I can't find a quite important spice which I use often, Cayenne Pepper. Does anyone know a brand that would be gluten free?
  15. I never really thought about it I guess. Wow you just made me think about it. Honestly, we arent intimite or even kissing very often (we are in a very complicated place right now, not sure if we are going to stay together or not, but we live together, anyways I could explain but its toooooo long a story trust me). But we just kissed last night. I don...
  16. The two main things gluten does to me is make cystic acne type breakouts on my face. They are painful, deep, itchy sore and I recognize them immediately. I call that "I got glutened stage 1" If I get even worse glutened the next thing that happens is my gums begin to bleed and get sores. I have no idea why this happens to me, it doesnt seem to be a very...
  17. AHahahahahahahha! Ah God bless you. I was feeling like crap and that last line made me LMAO.
  18. Oh my...just..wow. I'm LOLing right now. Thats as bad as people who try and tell me chicken and fish aren't meat (I'm a vegetarian). I'm like what are fish, strange sea plants with googly eyes??? LOL!
  19. Thanks for the good suggestions. I never even thought about the possibility of flour on my clothes. Thanks for alerting me to that. There have been a couple times when I brushed against something and got flour on my clothes and had to dust it off but there was probably still some there. Ew ew ew. Also what I meant about not having the full intolerance...
  20. I think you definiately did the right thing! God wouldn't want you to get glutened! I agree with the suggestion to talk to your pastor and see if you can bring your own bread.
  21. Just make a couple dishes for you to eat, and share. I don't think you have to eat what everyone else brought. You can explain your situation, so they wont think you are rude or picky or anything.
  22. No I don't think you screwed everything up. I get glutened, I was just mildly glutened yesterday. We are still in the healing process, and every day we go without gluten is a good day.
  23. I mentioned before I work in a pizza place. Part of the job description is making the pizza dough. This involves dumping a flour-y mix into a big mixing machine and adding water, then taking the dough and making little balls out of it and rubbing flour all over them. Now usually I don't do this part, I have one of my coworkers do it. But yesterday I...
  24. I'm glad I saw this thread. I have been noticing an increased sensitivity myself since giving it up, and I was wondering if that were normal.
  25. Hey there. I'm sorry to hear about your breakup. Just curious, were you trying to force her to be gluten free as well or did she just not like that you had to be? I have a boyfriend who eats the standard american diet, and I'm a gluten free, mostly raw vegetarian. Our diets have absolutely nothing in common but never has my diet effected him beyond that...
