  1. So has anyone checked on Better Than Bouillon Chickn Base? I just e-mailed them this afternoon but haven't heard back yet. The natural flavor is what I'm curious about. What do others use to season soup etc? Plain chicken stock was always to weak tasting for me.
  2. Hi Rian. Welcome to the group (and anyone else I missed). That is an incredible story. So glad you found out at such a young age instead of at 55 like some of us. This is a great group. I too am a Christian and personally I wouldn't go into modeling. I'm sure the Lord will show you through His word what to do with your life. That's neat about your husband...
  3. Hi Theresa. Welcome to the group (along with anyone else I failed to welcome). That is an incredible story. I'm SO GLAD you finally found answers. I too am 55 and just found out a few months ago.
  4. Hi Sheryl. I too want to welcome you to the group. This is a wonderful site with lots of info. I'm still learning myself. Glad your husband is ok and that you finally found your answer.
  5. I tried that and the contact persons e-mail no longer exists. HM. Maybe I'll try their marketing director. Thanks. It does look gluten-free that's why I bought it. In hopes that I could do stir fry. But I won't open it till I know for sure.
  6. The ingredients listed on the bottle are soybeans, coconut sugar, sea salt, water, spices, yeast extract. Looks gluten-free to me but thought I should make sure. Can't seem to find who to contact. Should I assume it's gluten-free by the list of ingredients. I got it at the Whole foods market thinking I could contact someone and see. Maybe I'll ask at the...
  7. Red Star makes a gluten free bread pamphlet? I'll have to check into that. Foods4life makes a brown rice bread that I didn't care for. Then I found their pecan and pecan/raisin bread. YUM! I've used in sandwhiches as well as by itself with breakfast. It does fall apart easier than regular bread but I sure like the taste.
  8. I was thinking of trying it myself. I will be interested in how you do. Have you read the book "Breaking the Vicious Cycle". It had some recipes in it. Also, scd.org probably has recipes or links to it. They are all made with nut flour. I need to get my book back from SIL before I start it. Best wishes.
  9. That's awesome about your acting in the childrens theater. Good for you. So are you going to college at a young age or does your family live on campus?
  10. Hi Molly. That is an INCEDIBLE story. So are you all well now? I certainly hope so. Glad you found all this while you were young. Have you been to Stanford Theater lately? I assume you meant Palo Alto but I could be wrong. If so where is Stanford? We went last night and saw a couple of real old movies. It was fun. I meant to add in my post that I am married...
  11. I forgot to mention that the TOP DOC I saw for thyroid read my 7 page health history which begins at birth. He told me I was CLASSIC low thyroid/adrenal. The ONLY thing that treating my thyroid has done was to cause me to loose 40 lbs. That was good but it wasn't the magic pill I was looking for. Going gluten-free caused me to loose an additional 5 lbs. I...
  12. This is interesting. I was on vacation for a week and I'm WAY behind on this board. I was 55 in June and have been searching since birth. Constipated SEVERELY since birth up to 20 years ago when I came down with IBS and since then I've been to you know where and back with my intestines. Sick all the time growing up with everything under the sun. Colds, flues...
  13. Jaw pain could mean TMJ and any GOOD chiropractor should be able to adjust it so the pain goes away.
  14. Hi Vicki. We just got back from vacation and I have a LOT of catching up to do. After a good nights sleep that is. If you read my 7 page health history you will see that it points to being born with a low thyroid problem and I'm 55. As my doctor puts it "Which came first? The chicken or the egg?). Since you are born with celiac I would assume that had...
  15. Hi Burdee. That's good news. How long was it before you noticed improvement?
  16. So how long did it take to get regular? I've been gluten-free (with some mistakes at first but not obvious ones) for 6 weeks now. I went dairy free (again) a week and a half ago with a slip up on Monday when I ate some jack cheese. Are you now doing soy? I need to get back to taking magnesium. I started it for my fibromylagia and didn't really notice anything...
  17. That is WONDERFUl. That would sure beat having to eleminate more food. I do have a little more energy. Any special fiber pills or just any? Start slow, I guess just one tablet. Will let you know how it works. How long did it take you? Thanks MUCH
  18. Hi Sandi. It's clear that you have been gluten-free and therefore it screwed your work. In order for it to show up (if it will show up) you need to be full time on gluten. I would definately do enterolabs.com. However, if you feel better on a gluten-free diet you pretty much have your answer. Enterolabs will only confirm it and you do not have to be...
  19. Thanks Judy. No I haven't tried fibre pills. Lets get specific . Are you able to go once a day and completely empty? That would sure be a dream. I've always felt that all 30 feet of intestines is clogged andmaking me very sick. I feel if throughout my body if that makes sence. I will try that. Also, if I don't do SCD I'm planning on doing the york allergy...
  20. So lets talk about intestinal symptoms. I've been very gassed up/boated/ichy etc. Guess it was always there but I'm noticing it more and it runs my day. I go number 2 all day long. Sometimes nothing comes out. Sometimes it's large sometimes it's the size of a small rock. Many times I have to help it come out. It's like I'm totally clogged up (all 30') and...
  21. Hi Molly. That's very unusual and I'm glad it's working for you. For most people taking the thyroid with iron or calcium will lessen the effectiveness of there meds.
  22. you should wait an hour before eating after taking your thyroid medication. No calcium either. Several things will interfere so it's good to take it alone.
  23. This is interesting. I've ALWAYS had weak nails. On Sunday I pulled out my finger nail scissors to cut them before church and WOW! I could hardly make them work. It appears that in the 6 weeks since being gluten-free my nails have hardened. This is totally amazing to me. Guess I should learn to file them and give up the scissors. I too craved breads, cheese...
  24. Thanks Nita. I will let you know how our vacation goes. Oatmeal in your meatloaf? My aren't you getting brave. I'll be interested to know about your experience with it. As to what bothered me before gluten-free, I can't really say. EVERYTHING bothered me I guess. Except for nuts which cramp me up and go right through me (not in the form of flour though...
  25. I was going to add that I got INCREDIBLEY sick on Saturday. Haven't been that sick in a long time and it was no fun. runs, throwing up, headache etc. Wondered if it was something I ate (no gluten for sure) but turned out the stomache flue is going around our church. Sure hope it stays away from our house. I grew up with that all the time. YUK!
