  1. That's my kind of night! At our house we had pork chops, steamed broccoli and homemade rosemary focaccia bread. It was delicious.
  2. is fat and happy after eating chocolate cream pie :-)

  3. YES!!!! Hang in there! Something in their salads make me feel a little gross. I've only eaten a couple, but that strawberry one didn't sit very well with me. It was a while ago, though, so I have no idea what it was or if it just coincidental.
  4. Yeah, it's probably a store issue with contamination or something along those lines. I eat at the one by my house waaay too much. To be honest, I don't LOVE Chick Fil A, but as far as fast food goes, it's generally a safe bet for me. And I'm pretty sensitive. I have eaten at some others though, and felt a lil funky afterwards. I'm pretty sure it's a gluten...
  5. You sound an awful lot like me before I went gluten-free. I could nap for two hours in the afternoon, and still be exhausted. Go to bed, sleep for 12 hours, and then wake up exhausted. They tested my thyroid a couple of times. Always came back fine. I went gluten-free, and gradually it went away, as did my other problems. After about 6 months, I stopped...
  6. Thanks for stopping by!

  7. I had mine done through Prometheus, and the turn around time is pretty quick. I think a day or two and the results are faxed back to the doctor. My doc sent me a letter with the results, and I think it was exactly a week from the day I had the blood drawn. I think the letter went out a week later, and I got a day or two thereafter, so a week and a half...
  8. I use the Pacific Foods brands. It's harder to find a bouillon gluten-free base than a gluten-free liquid base, from what I've found.
  9. Not the missing link... the genetic link that predisposes someone to Celiac Disease. And just for the record, I had to actually do some research before writing this. Eeek! But that's ok, I've learned my one new thing for today. So here's what I know so far: I have double copies of the HLA DQA1*05-DQB1*0201 gene. To those of you who know what that...

    Intro

Well, today is the day that I started officially blogging. It's kind of strange putting yourself out there like that... My hope is that one day I'll be able to put all of my knowledge to work for those who don't have the resources to find out how to live better. This includes Celiac, but certainly is not limited to it. I mean, any sort of GI disorder...
  11. I've had white bean hummus, trader joe's makes one. But be careful if you buy it, one of their flavors has soy sauce in it. But, it is DELICIOUS!!! Enjoy!
  12. I'm sure its something that you would have to check with each brand. I buy the Harris Teeter brand and they are safe. The ingredients are few and clearly marked. Do you have a list of things to look for in processed foods? It really helped me get through the first few months when I was unsure about a lot of things. There is one on this site, but I don't...
  13. I have no idea. Have you tried their website, emailing or calling them? I have found the email responses I have received to be very helpful.
