  1. I wonder what the term is where it makes a difference. I used to never get sick either, I'd get a light cold once in the spring and once in the fall. I figure I 'got' Celiacs about 6-7 years ago. I had moved in the building I worked at and got sick all the time. Made no sense because the building we worked in was 130 years old and the area I moved...
  2. No not that kind I've been cruising along pretty good considering how tough the holidays are. The Vitamin B and D supplements I started 2 weeks ago got me over the Sami's Pizza dough glutening with fantastic results. Those pills have brought levelness to everyday, no more ups and downs as I go through recovering. The brain fog, improved thought...
  3. Sure there is. I would bet that the number of Celiac's, who follow a gluten free diet, have a much much lower rate of diabetes, heart disease, and non-Celiac related cancers. White flour is the devil We skip the flours all together except on rare occasions. Anything highly ground causes huge spikes in blood sugar, be it rice flour or any...
  4. My brother made us a separate small chicken for dinner and used the family recipe but with rice bread. I know rice bread sucks(and it does), but you know after we were done we were hard pressed to tell the difference between it and the real stuff. Very simple. Break up a full loaf or two of bread in a bowl Chop up 2 large onions into the bread Salt...
  5. We really enjoyed Sami's Flax pizza dough but after I stopped taking Benedryl for my cold I found out just how much gluten was actually in it. I'm just getting over being sick from it. I've made repeated emails and calls to Sami's about producing their product in a gluten free environment and have gotten zero response. So anyone have any idea whats...
  6. One of my favorite drinks, and some will scoff at doing this to a good Cognac but... Remy Martin VSOP(green bottle) with Virgil's real micro-brewed cola. Made with sugar instead of HFCS and its very smooth and tasty.
  7. I've always wondered how airborne gluten could be. No you cannot absorb it through your skin but I'm almost positive you can absorb it through the sinuses. When I started using the Microwave at work I had vision problems. Sinus swelling would cause some optic nerve problems. Happened 5-10 minutes after eating lunch. Never any stomach problems at...
  8. Another thing I've noticed since taking the B12 is that same growing pain in my arms and sides of my stomach area. B12 is supposed to help in deep muscle tissue growth. I've always been thin and if I work out I tend to get more toned than to actually build muscle. It hasn't bothered me since it does feel a lot like a growth pain . I'll have to check...
  9. Leg pain, specifically a 'nerve' pain that went along the top of my leg from the top of the thigh to near the knee was 'mid problem', 'mid recovery' problem. If I mapped out my symptoms as I got worse, then figured out I had Celiacs, then got better I would go up and down the list. To me leg pain is a mid to early recovery problem. Achy legs, especially...
  10. Just remember if your still wondering if your crazy, your not crazy yet Unfortunately you will find that the answers to what is bothering you will not come usually from trying things to make things better. Its when things improve, and then get worse you get the answers you were looking for. I've been up and down this road a few times and in the...
  11. Well my anxiety stress issues were usually right after having gluten and faded to a point of control 2-3 days later, totall within 7-9. I just took 2 of the chewy ones, 500mg total in the morning. I don't know how 'good' the gummy ones are, however they were the only ones labeled clearly gluten free. Not only has it helped my mood but even after the...
  12. After having a gluten incident with odd effects, see my post about Sami's pizza in the products section I read this thread and decided to try the B12. Short story is I ate Sami's pizza crust which must have had gluten and I initially had great results from it. I was taking Benadryl for a cold and odd as it sounds I had zero reaction from the Sami's.....
  13. Ok another great idea down the drain. But for the trouble I've learned something new. The pizza was 12 or 14 inch...my wife ate two equal size pieces and over the course of two days I finished off the rest. I have usually have almost immediate reactions. I've had CC fried foods that I can feel in a matter of minutes from a anxiety standpoint. We...
  14. Well I've seen others post up other good pizza crusts...anyone suggest one that is totally safe? I finished the pizza today, that stuff is fantastic
  15. I don't know what to think...I had 2 pieces cold this morning and they were fantastic. Stomach feels a bit off but then again these are made with flax and other non-soluable fibers so who knows...I don't feel like I'm getting a reaction, it may just be the high fiber content. This seems like a lifesaver for us. Its tough to come up with super quick...
  16. I found a lot of threads about their bread, which is excellent, but tonight we tried the pizza dough. They sell the pizza dough already cooked, you just top it and heat it. We tried to make gluten free pizza before and it was absolute crap...I'm not one to look for substitutes, if its not close to the original we just skip it completely. This...
  17. Thanks for all your replies. I would say for sure its gluten...but I'm comparing that against when this stuff happened. April/October the two biggest seasons for allergies. When I was younger I had allergies but they went away, or at least I just didn't let them bother me. Now the gluten might compound the problem...our toothpaste is said to be...
  18. In the past I always attributed the brain fog to gluten. I'd get pressure in the front of my head, right above the nose around the sinus area. That always seemed to go away totally about 2-3 weeks after a accidental heavy glutening. Now I am starting to think either I was going down the wrong path or possibly I need to change toothpaste and all that...
  19. Well I feel fine this morning. I'm usually not susceptible to CC at least not minor stuff...we eat out all the time and never have an issue. I've had 1 issue and what I thought was 1 possible issue last night and the food was the same which lead me to look into the besan flour. Indian food does use flours however since naan is cooked in a tandor its...
  20. We went for Indian tonight and were very hungry. We decided to order an appetizer and one of my favorites was Vegetable Pakora. I've missed it since I assumed it was made with wheat flour...now tradition Indian Pakora is made with Besan flour but being a restaurant I wasn't sure. The waiter, and the owner, assured me it was 100 percent chick pea...
  21. Thanks, thats her. Appreciate it.
  22. Deb, Your situation is different than the ones I'm speaking of. If you've done all you can then you know your situation. I'm speaking more to those who go in with something and immediately are prescribed meds when the doc doesn't understand the issue. They wanted to put me on anti-spasmodics because they thought I had eschemia of the bowel...
  23. I'll admit I am a big non-believer in the medical industry. I see a lot of people on here trying to take meds to fight off various things. You can never teach your body to do its normal job if your helping it. If you work out you don't build muscle if someone is helping you lift the weights. So when you substitute all these other means for what...
  24. Thats my vote...it stuck with me for a while...not so much the stomach issues but the rest of the stuff you mention.
  25. People's reactions can deppend on the form of the gluten they injest. A McDonald's hamburger bun used to give me mild discomfort. The bread from Carraba's or Bonefish Grille I'd be lucky to make it to the bathroom sitting 10 feet away. In a pinch I can have soy sauce...for me wheat products, even though they contain gluten, have a far different reaction...
