ARCHIVED Maybe Not Celiac - Yeast Again.
Eric-C replied to Eric-C's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I didn't do a program. I just stopped eating the things I was supposed to stop eat, fruit, carbs, etc...I only did it for about 4 weeks but I was taking Candex, Capryllic Acid, etc... I know this topic got moved to a different section but I don't know if it gets much exposure here and I really do think there is something more to this. The high number of... -
ARCHIVED Imitation Crab In Sushi
Eric-C replied to Kathleen Elizabeth Strawn's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Krab, with a K, has wheat in it. Goto the local grocery store and pick up a package of artificial crab, it lists wheat. When we go for Sushi we always order real King Crab meat, the fake stuff will cause problems, real crab will not. Get some Tamari, its wheat free and our Sushi place actually keeps it for us on the shelf so we don't have to haul... -
I have been posting on here for a while. I know I have severe gluten issues and no I have never been tested for Celiac's because a gluten intolerance test is nothing I wish to go through and I hear blood tests are iffy. Here is the very short condensed version: 1. Looking back 10 years for the first 5 I would get an upset stomach, or urgency after...

ARCHIVED Please Help: Need Suggestions For A Good, gluten-free Pro-Biotic
Eric-C replied to Lynayah's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I take Culturelle, that one was recommended by my doctor. -
ARCHIVED For Those Who Are Never 'right', A Word About Yeast
Eric-C replied to Eric-C's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Well now ya tell me It came in the mail, and no I did not read the ingredients list as I should have. So I just bought a new thing of Candex today and my wife will take the other brand. She noticed it had malt in it just before I opened them. Sucks too because it is WAY cheaper than Candex. -
ARCHIVED Psyllium Husk Pills
Eric-C posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I want to start taking Psyllium husk pills for fiber. Wife bought some at GNC and they list oats so we returned them. Anyone know of a brand that is for sure gluten-free? -
ARCHIVED Popcorn At The Movies
Eric-C replied to Diva1's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Even though I had zero reaction to soy, butter, dairy, etc...that stuff kills me. Don't know if it has gluten but it has an immediate and profound effect -
ARCHIVED For Those Who Are Never 'right', A Word About Yeast
Eric-C replied to Eric-C's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Wow thats quite a reply from someone who is in the moderators group. Do I know for sure the test works, have I checked with a doctor, no. What I can tell you is my experience is that in the time that I did it, I would wake with a dry "chewy" mouth, and after a month on a Candida style diet and taking Candex the results of the spit test and the feeling... -
ARCHIVED Sores In Mouth - Symptom Of Gluten-intolorance As Well As Celiac?
Eric-C replied to Lynayah's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
As the years wore on I got canker sores twice a year, at the season changes, along with the flu or a cold. Since going gluten-free, not a single one or a hint of one. -
ARCHIVED Celiac And Hypoglycemia
Eric-C replied to FixedGear's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I had all that too. I used to get a very bad rash on the inner thighs and ankles, plus a dry spot behind the left ear. Doctor did tell me it was yeast but seasonal...wearing jeans/sweat pants, being outside in the humidity, etc. She gave me a topical cream and that took care of it. Happened 2-3 times per year. Now I go back it was gluten upsetting... -
ARCHIVED Celiac And Hypoglycemia
Eric-C replied to FixedGear's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I should have been more clear. It was low blood sugar, caused by yeast. After being glutened severely, or taking anti biotics, I would have hypoglycemia attacks regularly. My endo gave me a tester and I'd be all over the place but dipping down into the 60's after eating. I tried to control it with diet and food and sometimes it would get better... -
ARCHIVED Larger Doses Of D3...the Final Piece Of The Puzzle
Eric-C replied to Eric-C's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
The best thing to do is find out your levels. You do not need to goto a doctor to get a blood test. Just find an indepedent lab and have it checked yourself, runs about $50-$60. They will even draw it. In fact if you ask you doctor they will usually not refer you to an independent lab and run it through insurance which will most likely end up... -
ARCHIVED Celiac And Hypoglycemia
Eric-C replied to FixedGear's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
In my experience it was yeast overgrowth. I had bad boughts of it until I started taking Candex and probiotics everyday. -
ARCHIVED Lightheaded Still
Eric-C replied to Fields's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I'll add my standard answer. Yeast. I had lightheadedness and all of that too, along with neuropathy, all due to hypoglycemia, the cause of the hypoglycemia was yeast. Probiotics and Candex fixed me up. Because the balance in our systems is so screwed up it allows yeast to thrive. -
ARCHIVED Julio's In Livonia, Mi - Huge gluten-free Menu, Manager Has Celiacs
Eric-C posted a topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
We went to Julio's in Livonia Michigan tonight. Been recommended several times and we tried it out. Over 1/2 their menu is gluten-free and the manager has Celiac's according to the waitress. Totally separate prep area, different pots for gluten-free versus non-gluten-free. Not cheap, gluten-free items are usually $2.00 more. I had the Veal Marsala... -
ARCHIVED Larger Doses Of D3...the Final Piece Of The Puzzle
Eric-C replied to Eric-C's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I took the chance to increase the dosage without talking to my doctor. I had read that over doing it on D3 could cause kidney issues however now everything I read is that 10,000ui should be the new standard. I keep pretty detailed records of my reactions and everything. A year after going through the ordeal with Cipro, which now I know was yeast... -
ARCHIVED Larger Doses Of D3...the Final Piece Of The Puzzle
Eric-C replied to Eric-C's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Well its been 3 days since the higher dosage and what an amazing difference. Its hard to keep track of your mood and overall feeling throughout the year because changes are gradual. 2 weeks ago I would have told you I felt great due to my point of reference. I've slept better, had more energy and clear focus. I'm going to schedule a DR's appointment... -
ARCHIVED Larger Doses Of D3...the Final Piece Of The Puzzle
Eric-C posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I've posted several times on my seemingly successful 'recovery' from most of the consistent problems that people have with Celiac's. I've had terrible neuropathy problems, digestion problems...you name it. B12 helped a lot. Candex was amazing in bringing me to near 100 percent. As I solved each problem something else would pop up. The last one... -
ARCHIVED Extreme Bleeding Gums
Eric-C replied to PlantLover's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I did not have massive bleeding gums...but there would be a bit of blood after brushing I'd say 60 percent of the time. Since going gluten-free never. I don't think its anywhere near as severe as what you had but it was another interesting problem that went away. -
Someone told me that Red Robin now not only has a gluten-free menu but also a dedicated fryer for french fries. I've been to two of them in a week. One on M59 in Macomb Township and another in Brighton Michigan on Grand River. For those not familiar with Michigan they are about 60 miles apart. I went to the one on M59 first about 4 days ago for lunch...

ARCHIVED Ashoka - Indian In Rochester Hills And Canton Michigan
Eric-C posted a topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Although this restaurant does not have a gluten-free menu they do make things the traditional way with besan flour versus wheat flour. I've eaten there no less than 50 times, at both locations, and never even have a hint of a problem. I would stay away from fried foods even though they are generally made with besan there are wheat based foods deep fried... -
ARCHIVED Namaste Sprice Cake - Awesome!
Eric-C posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Things continue to get better and better. Namaste, carried at Wal Mart, has a premix bag for their Spice Cake. Its incredible. Looks like cake, bakes like cake, it makes a huge pan full, isn't dry, isn't flaky. You can stick a fork in it and it stays, its not super dense like others. You would never ever know. It is just a TAD dry but if you leave... -
ARCHIVED Beer Reviews Here
Eric-C replied to Ahorsesoul's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Well considering one of my favorites was Hacker-Pschorr Hefe Weisse, a wheat beer I have not had much luck I'll have Red Bridge when we go out for pizza just because I miss pizza and beer. Initial taste its great but it leaves a funny aftertaste to me. I have not tried any of the others though. I wasn't a huge beer drinker so I just went back... -
ARCHIVED Do Nerve Problems=healing?
Eric-C replied to hammer44's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Same thing. Take B12, D3, and Candex for yeast, all went away. I have no problems with soy or any other allergy thankfully. -
ARCHIVED Need Advise On What To Say
Eric-C replied to Alphawave's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I just tell people a head of time. If its just strictly with friends then we offer to cook or we just tell them things that always work well. If its a group we just tell them what is going on and offer to bring a few dishes that everyone will like that we can eat. My wife makes a layered raspberry, pudding, whip topping, choclate flourless brownie...
