  1. I have been gluten free 1 yr to the day after fathers day when last yr 1/2 beer on fathers day caused major joint pain and I decided that I was a celiac. celiac is a clinical dx as I have yet to test bloodwork positive. sorry about your flare I admit that the thought of treating Lyme for 8 yrs scares the hell out of me!!!
  2. I have found that gluten-free diet is not enough to lessen my sleep problems and have found no sugar diet to help a great deal but then I was just diagnosed with Lyme also and the continued sleep problems after going gluten-free may be related to Lyme. hth
  3. I also gained weight prior to dx., have radically changed diet in last month. No sugar at all including "hidden" sugar, no alcohol, no carbs, no processed food at all, only water, 2 cups of coffee and 4oz juice per day to drink, lots of lean meat, fresh veggies and small fruit because of carb content, very little dairy like maybe 1tbsp feta cheese in omelet...
  4. thanks for the link I pasted the following from the website HOW ENCOURAGING IS THIS YOUR PRICE POINT - Planning what you are going to bake should include some research on your competition, how much it costs you to bake your goodies and how much you can sell them for. Your price point is the top price that your customers will pay for your goods or services...
  5. Sherry thanks for the post!! I have no detox regime as yet, can you help?? Now I drinks tons of water, no alcohol, no sugar, (I have had great relief from symptoms since cutting out sugar) no processed food, lots of lean meat /fish and veggies/fruit, very little dairy and now no carbs as I am hoping to lose a few lbs as I gained 25 lbs in 4 weeks just...
  6. Am anxious to try sauce recipe as I use wegmans gluten-free pizza sauce, which is really good but would not be cost effective. thanks for the tip!! Has anyone tried a gluten-free french toast recipe that is made in a pan the night before ? I was going to adapt a regular recipe as this would also be easily marketable to B & B's. Thanks for all...
  7. I have a crust recipe that I adapted and the family and guests really love. I have also adapted the brazilian cheese bread recipe from this forum that is very nice. I have not cared for parchment paper for pizza crust and always bake initially with some crisco in pan to keep from sticking then corn meal on bottom of pan when baking with toppings. I do...
  8. How about a really good breakfast muffin recipe? I am thinking of marketing to local B&B's and had tweaked a blueberry muffin recipe but have not used in a while (I have gone sugar free) and cannot locate the recipe
  9. Am so excited I messed up post Edit Carla, what would a positive IgG indicate? It looks like something showed up but not clear enough to be positive IGeneX. I agree that I should double up on meds.... A reoccurance of infection...can this be caused by exposure to another tick bite? Maybe stress? About the time symptoms began I was spending time on...
  10. The doxy will be 200mg per day and I could always double up on dosage. I see John on June 23. My PCP is of course following standard approved treatment LOL Funny she said the tests indicate a recent infection say in the last two months while admitting that treatment may make an improvement in all the muscle/joint pain which I have had longer than 2...
  11. Carla, Went to Dr this AM and she admitted test is positive for Lyme and put me on doxycycline 100mg 2xday for 2 months. I was so shocked that when I got home I called insurance and had her put back on as my PCP as she has redeemed herself. Please help interpret these result (I have copy of report in my hand ) IgG Igenex negative CDC...
  12. I am curious if LLMD charges you for a call like the one you describe? Is it considered the same as a phone consult?
  13. It is possible to be treated by LLMD and keep PCP without the primary knowing about the Lyme treatment?? I suppose any illness that arises during Lyme treatment needs to be discussed with LLMD. How this works I suppose depends on the willingness of Dr to work with LLMD
  14. Carla No appt yet as office is closed on Thursday afternoons so I will have to call in the AM on Friday. I wonder if test is positive and Dr wants to see me to tell me to take a hike LOL I don't care at this point as I already have appt in June with LLMD that you recommended. In a perfect world my PCP would work with LLMD regarding treatment!!...
  15. I had to post as I got a message on my machine this afternoon that IGeneX lab results are in and Dr. that signed lab slip wants me to call and make an appt to see her. This is the same Dr that said that there is no Lyme in NY!! I can only assume that she would not want me to make appt if test came back negative. Now I am freaking out waiting to call her...
  16. On that note, My Dr. office is insisting that my Lyme test results from IGeneX labs have not yet arrived although IGeneX tells me they were sent one week ago. I know snail mail can be slow especially around holidays but, IGeneX offered to fax results when I called two days ago but needed my Dr to sign faxed form first saying OK to having lab results faxed...
  17. Thanks soooooo much for all the insightful posts!!!! I made an appointment today with local SCOPE organization of retired businesspersons that volunteer to assist in the start-up of new businesses, eg..marketing, business plan, financing etc... I am really excited as I have a bachelor of science degree in business management but did not learn much in college...
  18. I remember reading an old post that had a list of instructions for cheff/wait staff when preparing and serving gluten free items. Things like not putting gluten-free items on same tray as gluten foods etc... I would like to find this again and print but need help finding the list. Can anyone help?????
  19. at first joint pain improved then got worse again, I am now completely sugar free and not just high fructose corn syrup free!!! I am trying to lose weight by giving up all carbs for awhile, no gluten-free breads, pasta, etc... for now. I gained 20-30 lbs just prior to going on gluten-free diet and have not gained since but have not lost it either. I tried...
  20. I am fortunate to have a separate home that we only use as a vacation spot and not far from main residence. Your post has me thinking that it may be best to use the kitchen there as conditions can be better controlled. We do not rent to outsiders and only use property ourselves. Hummmmm (my thinking face)
  21. I guess I am just totally paranoid about putting anything into my mouth that I have not personally purchased and prepared!!! I am just soooooo sick after an accidental glutening that I no longer eat any food that I have not personally prepared!!! But I sure do crave the stuff I don't dare eat. It seems like making food unimportant in daily life helps but...
  22. Does ice cream from McD's come from a soft serve machine? I would still be concerned about cc with other ice cream cones coming into contact with dispenser.
  23. I don't have the answer to that but I recently had left side pain and low back pain and saw a new Dr who told me I had fecal matter in my bowels and gave me ducolax to take. It was not fun (the ducolax, stay close to bathroom) but the pain went away. hth
  24. Awesome input!!! More? Thanks! I agree that gluten-free only may be the most cost effective way to go
  25. All of these threads have me thinking heavy metal toxicity may be a real problem for me Thanks to all you who post for helping me be a good detective in trying to resolve my health issues!!!
