  1. Another wierdo here I also gained alot of weight in a short period of time despite working out 4 x week. I could never get enough to eat and craved all the gluten laden foods such as cheese nips! My fiance would joke about me always being hungry. Now that I am on gluten-free diet I am not hungry constantly but still have excess weight. I am again trying...
  2. All this talk of mercury in vaccines has me wondering about my own symptoms that have not subsided wiht gluten-free diet. I believe a flu vaccine was given just prior to the onset of symptoms!! Thanks for this thread as it gives me a clue to what direction to take next in my quest for good health
  3. I am thinking of starting my own small business out of my kitchen selling gluten-free baked goods. I live in a small lake side village that has a wonderful tourist customer base. I would market my baked goods to local bed and breakfasts, restuarants, and sell at farmers market. My question is what specific ingredients are no no's for people with other...
  4. These sound like a trip to the market for coconut flour is in my future!!!!
  5. I also avoid any seasoned fries. Was looking at ore-ida products in grocery store yesterday and believe that seasoned fries contained modified food starch which I avoid, can't remember exactly what the ingredients were but I only buy plain fries. You can always cook part way and season yourself for added flavor during remainder of cooking time. hth
  6. Thank you both this does help me to understand the term
  7. I keep hearing members mention having air hunger and I am not sure what they mean. Can someone describe what this feels like? I recently had a pulmonary function test and was told my small airways are not working efficiently, but not why. Got an inhaler to help with shortness of breath, is this the same as air hunger? I am soooo confused!!!
  8. I buy Puffins at Wegmans , this is wheat free, but is processed on equipment that also processes wheat so if you are very sensitive I wouldn't eat it. I prefer the peanut butter as it is kinda like captain crunch (used to be one of my favorite indulgences) but not as sweet
  9. Back at ya!! Do something nice for yourself today you deserve it!!! I had my AM coffee in the hot tub!!
  10. watched this ad you all know the saying "If it sounds too good to be true..."
  11. I agree with this but also believe that many gluten intolerant people are not true celiacs and if they can be helped with long term abx treatment then I also feel the risks would be worth the "cure". I would love to be able to eat food that I haven't had to carefully prepare myself always from scratch (time consuming) and with fairly expensive ingredients...
  12. at a picnic at a local college...called ahead to ask for gluten free meal as supposed to have celiac students and gluten-free menu items. One of the food service workers came over and said (in a snotty tone) "hamburgers are gluten free" and I replied (in a nice tone) "yes, untill you cook them on a grill that food with gluten has been cooked on" she gives...

  17. How did you know you passed liver flukes?
  18. I see Fiddle-Faddle mentioned bone spurs. I have been Dxed with bone spurs in hip and chiropractor suggested magnesium supplements for muscle spasms. My research on magnesium shows that a deficiency can cause bone spurs, you may want to get levels checked.
  19. I seem to remember a friend saying they used a salt system for their pool instead of chlorine and initial expense was high but was very pleased with results. I will google it for hot tubs. thanks
  20. I realize that hot tub water can be tricky to maintain as we have owned one for 6 yrs now. That is why the water was tested with test strip and treated for proper balance before getting in. I wonder if a particular brand of chemical may be less harsh. I saw through internet research that spaguard brand has some new products and I am going to try sojme...
  21. Does anyone else get spotty, itchy rashes from being in a hot tub? We have two, one at each house and sometimes I get rashes. I have been sunning this past week at one house in hot tub with no trouble, the only chemical in it is chlorine. I was at the other house over the weekend sunning in that hot tub and broke out in a rash on the back of my knee and...
  22. Thank you Carla and Kassandra for your insights. I don't know how I will afford this but need to try as my quality of life has deteriorated as my health has worsened. I was listing all the "weird" symptoms that I experience and came up with 25 currently unexplained health issues. Everything from left eye ptosis to pain and swelling in left thumb joint...
  23. Thats a relief!! It seems like all the Dr.s are on a hunting expedition with no idea what the prey is!! I am concerned about ther cost of seeing Dr. H and if my insurance will cover any of this. My research indicates that Lyme testing and treatment is really expensive!! With all this testing that Dr. H does will the trip be more than one day? I am only...
