    I have no idea as to the gluten free status of Senekot, but as to the safety of it, I can tell you that my daughter's pediatrician had her on it for quite some time. From the time she was 2 (and she was in the hospital due to impaction) he has us giving her a teaspoon of Senekot every night at bedtime for over 1 year before her bowels started working on...
