  3. Hi Chris! Welcome to the board!!! You have definitely come to the right place for support, advice and encouragement. You indeed are very lucky to have a wife willing to walk step by step with you through this disease. When it comes to the big D, I am probably the expert on that aspect. Unfortunately, I cannot give you any magic cure to get rid...
  4. Google up "Refractory Celiac Sprue", print out an article about it and show it to him. It should hit home to him how serious this disease can be...... It is never too late to start gluten-free. My family dr. just told me last month that she just had a patient who is in her 80's just diagnosed with celiac..... Karen
  5. I stay away from the No Name brands in regards to most items, not just spices. I also exclusively use McCormick's....... Karen

  9. Although it isn't my spouse, my daughter absolutely refuses to try anything that is labelled gluten free. If she sees it in the fridge and I suggest she try it, I get a "Ew, NO, it's gluten free"........ She automatically assumes that if it is gluten free, it tastes like cardboard..... I tricked her one day though. I made barbecued chicken with Kraft...
  10. I wish........ lol! Karen

All other Rolaids products are gluten-free, including the Zantac 75, however they do NOT guarantee that there is not cross contamination with their products That is as per the...

  15. Hi! Welcome to the board!!! Actually, we do have some people from the UK on the board here. I am sure they will be chiming in shortly! Any questions you have, just fire away! There's a bunch of really great, helpful and knowledgeable people on this board! Karen
  16. Yep, celiac3270, guilty as charged!!!! I smoke (although I don't smoke in the house or the van). For each and every pregnancy though, I quit cold turkey, which as it turns out, for the twin pregnancy, it's a good thing I did since they were 9 weeks early and weighed 3 1/2 lbs. each. If I smoked, their birthweight would have been much lower and who...
  17. Hi Maya, I keep mine in the fridge because usually a package doesn't last long enough to go bad. I take it out, put it in the microwave for 16 seconds, take it out, let it cool for about 2 minutes, then slice it to put it in the toaster. Voila! Perfect english muffin! Karen
  18. Thanks Lisa. I will read it tonight after all the rugrats have gone to bed..... I have been looking for a reason to quit, maybe this will work....... Karen

  20. Yeah, they could have been ghosts who like MTV......... Karen
  21. Oh well, I guess I should be thankful that the ghosts don't crank the volume up..... Karen
  22. Mine seems to be a touch different than yours..... When I am laying there, I literally hear the dull drone of a TV show actually being on. It's like the very faint distant drone of talking, exactly the same sound as when hubby is down there watching TV while I'm up here on the computer...... Maybe my faith is not so re-inforced now......... ...
  23. OH MY GOD!!! YOU TOO???? I though I was losing my mind!!!! With me having collagenous colitis, which is quite nocturnal, I am usually up from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. My bowels wake me up around 2 and it doesn't usually settle down until 5 or 6 a.m. I always lay down on the couch in the living room to use the downstairs bathroom so I don't wake anybody...
  24. Hi Holly! Although I don't know the answer to your question, I just wanted to mention that our motto on this board is that no question is a stupid question. Please feel free to ask any questions you wish without fear of sounding ignorant or silly........ We have all been where you are right now and know how overwhelming it can be and there are tons of...
  25. Also, although I haven't tried it yet, my sister swears by quinoa (spelling?)...... She says it is delicious..... Karen
