  1. Don't worry, I can SO RELATE TO YOU!!! I avoid as much as possible salads, fruits with skin, tomatoes, corn, mushrooms. All go through my system basically undigested. The next time you see your doctor, ask him maybe to investigate the possibility of you having collagenous colitis. After a decade of permanent watery diarrhea, the top celiac guy in...
  2. Okay, I am getting the hang of this even though it is DISGUSTING!!! I only wish I had kept the little toddler cushioned potty seat (you know the ones that you put over your own toilet so their little bums won't fall through the big hole??). After my twin boys were trained, I threw it out - now I could sure use it! The bones in my behind are getting sore...
  3. Oooooh, I have visions of me if I were put in that situation by some yahoos. My vision involves me turning from Bill Bixby into Lou Ferigno.... they would have gone flying!!!!! Karen
  4. I can remember getting samples for that too. I resorted to disposable aluminum pie plates that I would hold while I did the deed!!! It worked! Karen
  5. I only wish I could hold it! Each time is getting worse and worse. What I am doing is spraying all over the bathroom before I open the can so it is not as overpowering...... This is quite brutal! Karen
  6. Oh yeah, you wouldn't believe it...... As soon as you enter, there is a directory to tell you where to go to all the famous graves.... Where Jim's name was, it was totally rubbed off due to people touching it with their fingers. So we didn't know where it was, but, alas, there was graffiti everywhere on people's tombs etc. saying "Jim - this way.........
  7. Yep, that's us! We're just a wild and crazy bunch!!!! Karen
  8. Jen, That story reminded me of my honeymoon! We were over in Paris in Pere Lachaise cemetery, partying at Jim Morrison's gravesite. I had to go to the bathroom REALLY BAD!! When I went into the bathroom, it was one of those stand-up ones!! Gross! It even had little footprints painted on the floor to show you where you are supposed to put your feet...
  9. Hey, who knows? I could discover/invent this fall's colour trends....... lol! Karen
  10. The "BM in a Bag" story is JenVan's experience she was relating to me earlier in the thread. It made me feel better knowing I am not the only one these things happen to!!! Oh, by the way, with regard to someone mentioning "Well, at least you don't have to open the can"....... that's the problem, I do, EVERY TIME I HAVE TO GO!! I am really dreading...
  11. I knew there was a reason I am attracted to "earthy" shades!!!! LOL! By the way, the going downstairs in a bag had me rolling! Now I can definitely see myself doing that!!!! Celiacs are quite familiar with the feeling of "Gotta go NOW!" Karen
  12. Jules, thanks for the laugh!!! I thought those things only happened to me!!! Hey, maybe I will invent a new colour for Behr or something. Let me see..... Sunset Stool or BM Beige Karen
  13. Feel free to use mine, too, celiac3270! Karen
  14. Okay, I had my follow-up with my GI specialist down at St. Mike's in Toronto. He is sending me to an immunologist to see if he can figure me out..... He did mention something about maybe an enzyme syndrome (I forgot the name of it) that he said is quite rare, but wanted to look into it further....... He did a few more blood tests. But here is the worst...
  15. Hey Stef! You go girl!!! I am sooo proud of you!!! Hugs, Karen
  16. Maybe you should ask your doctor about the possibility of collagenous colitis..... After a decade of permanent diarrhea, they finally found out that's what it was.... Good luck! Karen
  17. Well, this is VERY INTERESTING!!!! Geesh, I am off line for a few weeks, come back, and BOY! have I missed some interesting stuff!!!! celiac3270, my dear friend, I, being a Canadian, am not well versed in American law, but I do believe that you (and anyone else for that matter) have the right, under your Bill of Rights Amendment 1, to free speech. ...

  21. I recently found out here (to my utter joy!) that Swiss Chalet also is a possibility for us celiacs. They have on their website a list of gluten free products that we can have. Their Swiss Chalet sauce is gluten-free but not their gravy. Also, their baked potato with their cream cheese is gluten-free but not their french fries...... Their chicken is safe...
