  1. Pantene is gluten free....... Karen
  2. This whole thing is really a mute point since Scott has stated that it wasn't what happened here that got him banned, but his "extremely rude" reply to Scott's request........ Karen
  3. Please forgive me but I just can't control myself: Did you fall off your chair? OKAY, OKAY!! I'll stop!!!! I just couldn't resist!!!! Hugs. Karen
  4. There's no such thing as a silly question on this board!!! Karen
  5. Total waste of time and money. The one I went to see knew nothing except how to hand out pamplets, most of which I already had..... Karen
  6. gluten-free bread made in a bread machine is not even in the same league as store bought gluten-free bread. The good thing about having your own machine is you can experiment to get the proper taste and texture you want. Mirielle over at delphi is a goldmine of information for this. Her recipes are easy to follow and if you are having problems, post them...
  7. In the words of Bugs Bunny: "WHAT A MAROON!!!!" Unbelievable.......... well, actually......... I do believe it. Just another reminder that the medical establishment hasn't come up to speed yet on celiac...... Karen
  8. Based on living with my husband for 13 years and dating for 4 years before that, I have to say that I can certainly see how he and I would treat/react to this diet VERY differently. Whereas I like to learn, learn, learn (knowledge is power!! ), my husband would learn the bare minimum to "get by". Where I find it soothing to talk to people going through...
  9. Hi Devon! I am quite happy with my Black & Decker "All in One" horizontal breadmaker. It was around $100.00 (Cdn.) The best book for recipes? I get my recipes from the expert, Mirielle, over at delphi. Go to www.delphiforums.com and on the left hand side, click on "Health & Wellness". The very first forum to come up is the celiac support...
  10. Without a doubt Kinnickinnick English Muffins..... Karen
  11. Hi! Lactose intolerance would be mentioned several times as it is the one that happens most due to celiac. With celiac disease, the immune system sees gluten as a toxin sends out "attackers" to attack the gluten which, by this point, is in your intestine. But unfortunately, while attacking the gluten, it also attacks the villi (which is the little fingers...
  12. That was a good post, kvogt. It reminded me of stef the kicking cuty's posts about that book "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus" (or something along those lines!!!) Men and women do voice their opinions in very different manners and what is good about this board is the fact that we, both men and women, have a common goal of getting healthy and we...
  13. I like to call it a treatment. The treatment for Celiac Disease is a gluten-free diet...... By just calling it a diet, it seems to invoke thoughts of "it's a fad thing", I think... Karen
  14. I also have the popping/clicking knees. When I bend down, you can hear my knees pop clear across the room! It is not painful in any way, just annoying.... My jaw, on the other hand........ Karen
  15. Don't overdo it, Donna! Don't reverse all the recent new accomplishments by overdoing it. Take it easy!!!! That's an order! Karen
  16. You're not a loser!!! You are just at the beginning stages and learning a valuable lesson...... That's the wonderful thing about human beings, we learn from our mistakes.... (usually, hopefully! ) Hope you feel better soon. Karen
  17. Can someone recommend to me a good OTC anti-inflammatory/muscle relaxer that is gluten-free? I usually don't take them because they do bother my stomach but in this case, I think that is the lesser of two evils...... I have taken 2 Tylenol 2's and it hasn't even touched the pain....... Karen
  18. The last few days, I have been getting that familiar tingle/burning down my arms. Last night, my neck started hurting. Through the night, I went to change positions and the shooting pain through my neck actually woke me out of my sleep and I amost bolted out of bed with the pain. I have been up since then. I have iced, heated, showered with the water...

We also have a wide variety of ages here, including children, so I hope you feel comfortable here. One of our most valued and knowledgeable members is celiac3270, who is 14 years old. How are you doing on the gluten-free diet? Has it...
  20. I have often suspected I have MVP (Mitral Valve Prolapse), but never discussed it with my doctor. Read the link, it is quite interesting: Open Original Shared Link Karen

  22. Hey BamBam. How goes it? Tuna: Chicken of the Sea Natural Sea Starkist Pasta Sauce Classico Ragu Soy Sauce: Chung King Crystal Worcheshire Sauce: Crystal French's Bon Apetite! Karen
  23. Also, the delphi list is also a godsend. I don't go shopping without it..... www.delphiforums.com click on Health & Wellness on the left hand side. The first forum to pop up is the celiac forum. Their list is in convenient category form. Makes it easier for shopping. Karen
  24. You just described me to a tee! Some days I could belch every 10 seconds constantly and still not get rid of the gas..... I also quite often get pain in my flank area along with my shoulders, neck pain, etc. Here is a list of symptoms I get when I get a "flare-up: - "locking" of shoulders/neck in the centre of my back. - I see "flashing light" in...
  25. I don't know if this will help at all, but I found it interesting: Open Original Shared Link Karen
