scalp folliculitis/DH
hipretty replied to kpool's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
OMG Wow kpool!!! 😭 I always thought folliculitis was more like white heads...you have full on blisters. Blisters have a very different component than whiteheads. Not a doctor but these pics are stirring up all kinds of red flags of DH to me. Thank you for your kindness! 💗🙏🌺 I get it that you have no desire to ingest gluten right now, the pa... -
scalp folliculitis/DH
hipretty replied to kpool's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
My concern is Bactrim is a sulfa based antibiotic. Why would anyone stay on Bactrim "the rest of their life"??? I actually developed an allergy to Bactrim and had head to toe welts all over my body (literally from between the toes, up to the eyelids AND the entire scalp, the upper lip heading into the nostrils.......and then on the back of my body.... -
ARCHIVED Greek Seasoning Have Gluten Or Great Value Syrup?
hipretty replied to dizzygrinch's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
squirmingitch you are funny I never said the spice is 7 years old, Ahorsesoul's post is 7 years old. I only posted that yesterday! The Lavender's is at least 2-3 years old though...probably not as fresh as it could be. But you are right, I should contact the company anyway! Thanks for replying! -
ARCHIVED Greek Seasoning Have Gluten Or Great Value Syrup?
hipretty replied to dizzygrinch's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I just dug out my ancient Cavender's remembering I often had the same question...I always thought it was basically salt, pepper and oregano. I realize now mine does not list msg ... it is salt free. It was something I used to used to season a greek salad in my "low fat" days to offset the awful taste of fat free dressings!!! But not wanting to use it or... -
ARCHIVED Vitamin E?
hipretty replied to NancyKay's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
It is true some E's are safe and some are from wheat germ. As a kid I struggled with such dry sensitive skin issues, and in the winter I had patches on my face that were like burns as severe as scalding! PLUS, I had asthma as well! Maybe I was Celiac all along, I don't know but Vitamin E, Vitamin E lotions and Vitamin E creams were always so soothing... -
Hi All, I hope you are all well! I wondered why mold lady's link was broken and I googled the recipe by that name and I see the site with that Seven Day Adventist Recipe appears to be dead. I wonder if I can repost the recipe? I have not tried this, but look like they'd be perfect made with Gluten Free oats. There are a world of recipes out there...

Hi Laura yes I love Soyrizo too. I know of two that are gluten-free Frieda's and Melissa's. Unfortunately I have only been able to find one gluten free one (Melissa's) and that was only once when I was on vacation in Miami. I have yet to find it again gluten free. All I ever see is Yves, but there is wheat listed as an allergen.

Aldi had gluten-free cookies IDENTICAL to enjoy Life's brand soft cookies. The Brownie (with chocolate chips) and Snickerdoodle cookies. I am Not entirely sure they are not enjoy life's brand... rebranded for Aldi as EVERYTHING, taste, texture, size even the plastic tray they sit in is exactly the same (except for the outside wrapper). They have brownie...

It has been a very long time since I posted this…got pretty fed up with gluten-free vegetarian companies after this. Since the passing of laws forced to acknowledge gluten in products (remember when they did not need to disclose this folks?) There has been a huge trend the try "The Gluten Free Diet"!!! I am hoping to generate some action on this t...

I would imagine that the dietary changes are the validation in and of themselves, especially if there is improvement in health I had a baby with multiple intolerances, not diagnosed by Dr Fine. My husband and I could not imagine how our baby had all these health issues that were found to be through food intolerances. Years after my child was born I...

Ivan I will post to you something I just mentioned to a poster Brian in Serbia.: I do know for sure Russia has way more resources than Ukraine for example who has next to nothing. But even in Ukraine (Kyiv) I was able to find in the larger markets Orgran gluten-free Pastas, and cookies. If you contact Orgran... I am sure they will tell you where to find... -

My child just asked me if I ever went to IHOP. Being that I had as a child, I felt so sad for him AND my gluten eating child who has never been there., We have stayed away from IHOP all this time. So I came to look for an update. This last post was from 2007. Does anyone know if I am missing a more current update here on the forums, or has the IHOP issue...

ARCHIVED Sprouted Grain Bread?
hipretty replied to JerryK's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I am so in agreement with this skbird. It is so deceptive and quite a tease might I add. Why bend over backwards trying to convince the public how the process eliminates Gluten if they are going to reintroduce it anyway? It's like kid's breakfast cereals that the process has destroyed the vitamins so they spray it back on anyway. I SO hankered for... -
are you in uk or the states now? It would be hard to mention brands of protein powder if your brands are not the same. I would guess to make gains... Good clean carbs, brown rice, sweet potatoes, gluten-free oats if they are available to you (and you don't react), cream of rice, grits, quinoa, quinoa pasta, baked (jacket) potato Lean proteins...

Well that sucks. I am sorta a bit curious how Gluten is a fta burner? I notice many fat burners contain cellulose and I am guessing that's a filler they use. I really can't see in the ingredient list which may be gluten or gluten derived, but I imagine they are just covering their backsides from any trouble especially since they had many ephedra related...

wow that is good news. I haven't eaten there since a rep from the company said "we suggest you find somewhere else to eat!". Not only was I disappointed as it was my favorite place for soup & salad...I was angry at the heartless let down!

ARCHIVED Warning Walmart Gv Product No Longer gluten-free!
hipretty replied to hipretty's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Well I just thought I'd share. Your welcome to those who are concerned. Of course you all need to make your own decisions and weigh the risks. I for one would not risk giving that to my child any more than I would eat it myself. I have lived with the disease and suffered long enough before my DX to never want chance it again. Now one of my children... -
ARCHIVED Warning Walmart Gv Product No Longer gluten-free!
hipretty posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi I do not know if this is already posted. For those of you who live on corn tortillas...GV (Great Value) brand with a lime green bag was always gluten free and stated that. For those who haven't been to a WM lately they are changing ALL their GV Brands to a white label, easier to find the better priced items. Well Saturday we brought home a new pack... -
Moldlady, I LOVE and miss oats so much...I used to weight train and lived on oats (a trigger maybe) it was a breakfast, lucnh sprinkled into yoghurt and dessert too. But Bob's gluten-free was not out then, and I didn't try McCann's. I would LOVE the recipe anyway, because I would try it with Kasha which I adore (or maybe chance the gluten-free Oats...
