  1. I spent my early childhood in Florida, (that's probably where I discovered them) but they are available in Indiana, too.
  2. Well, let's see.....A big blob of marshmallow cream squished between two large flat vanilla cookies, then covered in a chocolate or banana or vanilla coating. Yummmm Banana was my favorite!!!
  3. Yeah, those were my fav. And let's not forget about Moon Pies (We're going to have Nikki googling like crazy )
  4. They are spongy I guess---the closest thing to it would probably be angel food cake, with a fluffy white filling. To describe it, it doesn't sound that exciting, but some people are addicted to those things It's like one of those warm fuzzies from childhood memories.
  5. Sorry to burst your bubble, but I almost never drink! It wouldn't take much to do me in
  6. It's a snack cake made by Hostess, I believe. Not sure what they're made of, but undoubtedly poison to celiac's
  7. Oh wow! I just got a mental picture of a bunch of sillyaks wearing rubber gloves trying to unwrap 100 twinkies
  8. Considering where I work, surely you don't think I scare easily I have a feeling I'll feel right at home!!!! Sooo.... If this is my big day....do I get a party....or 100 Twinkies shoved down my throat? BTW, looks like I need to have an avatar of my pets. I have a beautiful shepherd-chow mix named Zeus. Don't let the name fool you...he's the biggest...
  9. OK, I've got one for you, although it's not food related. This has happened more than once. When I tell someone I work with deaf children they ask, "Do they know how to read braille?" ???? I kid you not! Lisa
  10. I weened myself off. But of course I didn't know about this forum and didn't have help from my doctor (read my signature). The information I found on the internet made it seem so overwhelming, I felt I couldn't figure it out all at once. I feel that this process gave me time to wrap my mind around the whole concept. And once I found this forum, I realized...
  11. 1) I work with hearing-impaired kids. I go where they go. 2) I should try that. Don't know why I didn't think of it! Darn brain fog hasn't lifted completely But that's why we're all here---to help each other figure things out
  12. The tutoring and kid-sitting is a possibility. Unfortunately, spreading out the salary is only available to teachers, not assistants, since we are paid hourly.
  13. A lot of my fav's have already been mentioned: Patterson, Koontz, Cornwell. Evanovich is hilarious! I also like Sue Grafton. Sidney Sheldon---haven't seen anything by him in a long time. Is he still around? There's also one---wracking my brain trying to remember his name---whose main character is Dirk Pitt. Anyone know who I'm talking about? Lisa
  14. After I went gluten free, I started having issues with dairy, and I'm pretty sure it was also making my face break out more. Also, I have known for years that caffeine makes me break out. So it doesn't necessarily have to be what you're putting on your face. You could be exhibiting other food intolerances. Lisa
  15. I've thought about tutoring, but it's a crapshoot whether I'd get enough clients to get me thru the summer, but I am considering giving it a try. I didn't know SAH or WAHMs hired nannies. Our school district has summer school programs, but my school is year-round. Summer school starts before I am done with the school year. No theme parks nearby...
  16. Awesome !! They have them at a Meijer not far from me
  17. So where did you get these wraps? Restaurant? Grocery store? On-line?
  18. I work at a middle school as an instructional assistant, and in another month, I won't have any income for six weeks. Most businesses won't hire someone for only six weeks. Plus the fact that I have fibromyalgia. Last summer I worked at my husband's factory for four weeks. I have never been in so much pain in my life! We've been struggling this past year...
  19. I'm pretty sure I was glutened (or a close call) at Kroger not too long ago in the baking goods aisle. I got a horrible pain in my back and realized I was standing near the flour. Then I realized that I could actually SMELL the flour. Maybe they had just stocked the shelves or someone had recently handled them, causing the flour to "puff out" thru the seams...
  20. This may not help you at all, as I do not feel hungry all the time. But there is one strange thing I have noticed about myself. If I eat shortly before going to bed, I will ALWAYS, ALWAYS wake up starving. If I eat dinner at a reasonable time and don't snack between then and bedtime, I am NOT hungry when I wake up. I eat anyway to start my day off right...
  21. I also make sandwiches for my husband and never have a problem ( I always wash my hands afterwards). But I have been glutened in the grocery store standing near the flour which, by the way, I could smell in the air. It caused immediate pain in my back. Lisa
  22. Since I have realized that I have a problem with gluten, I am sure my daughter does too. ( She is finally starting to believe me). Anyway, a couple years ago she was diagnosed with "slow motility". ( I'm sure there is a more medical term for it, but she doesn't know what it is.) Anything solid or liquid takes a long time to move thru her system. It had caused...
