  1. I am 28, and at 22 my mom who is a hairdresser pointed out my first gray hair, but that is the only one I have had so far. I think it probably does have something to do with celiac.
  2. I had alot of problems with Yasmin, I found it to be the worst birth control I have ever taken actually and this was before I knew I had celiac. I had to come off of it because I was having so many side effects. But that just goes to show how everybody is different, as some people have no problems with it.
  3. So I will begin by saying that I think (know) my mother has celiac. I was diagnosed about 2 months ago and have been researching intensely. I have learned so much and decided since I have been diagnosed that my mother should also be tested, especially considering her classic symptoms which she has had for years: severe anemia(which doesn't get better with...
  4. Yes You should either get a new doctor so that you are able to have an official diagnosis of celiac disease, now that you are going gluten free, any tests that you have done after this will be altered by your gluten free diet. Trust me after going gluten free for a period of time you do not want to have to eat gluten to get a positive test, weather it be...
  5. Ok thanks for the responces, since I am in Canada I contacted the manufacturer and there response was: "If there is gluten in any of there products it will be listed in the ingredients" I am still curious as to where it is derived from, as my dietician told me to watch out for Hydrolyzed vegetable and plant protein as they can come from wheat. Thanks again...
  6. Hi ya'll I am having some troubles with ingredients on a chip dip Everything looks good except "hydroloyzed vegetable protein" Anyone know if this is oK?
  7. Interesting, I am going to go back to the dentist and get my root canal checked, because it already fell apart once and she had to put some sort of a casing over it. I am thinking about just getting it pulled as it has only been giving me grief thanks for the responces! Krista
  8. I have read over the symptoms and I am sure that I do, but how do you get tested for it. I can not afford to go to a Natropath Doctor, Can a regular family doctor test for it? Thanks Krista
  9. I have noticed that I have a metal taste in my mouth pretty much all the time. I am starting to worry that I possibly have heavy metals in my system. I have read some information about that here about this topic and am not sure how to go about finding out what could be causing this. I do have some silver(mercury fillings), four of them actually and I had...
  10. So I had my Hormones tested, and my doctor said they are fine. I am in the process of getting some of my vitamin and mineral levels checked now. I go for my physical middle of June also. I really don't know what else to do if everything comes back normal, she is going to say keep trying and I guess that is best thing to do considering I have only been gluten...
  11. Can a regular family doctor test and/or diagnose candida overgrowth in celiac patients? How is this normally treated?
  12. I am confused, what if something is gluten free but processed in a plant which processes other products which may contain wheat. Would you eat it? thanks
  13. If you are suspecting that she may be celiac and that it may run in your family why not have her tested. This would be the best time since she is currently consuming some gluten I expect. Just get the bloodwork done or you can buy your own test these days and do it with a prick of the finger for 50.00. Good luck!
  14. Hello I have been sick for along time and recently have been diagnosed with Celiac through Positive bloodwork and Biopsy. I have been trying to get pregnant for 9months with no luck. I have been gluten free for 1.5mths, which is not that long, but my doctor seems to think that there is nothing wrong with me. She knows nothing about celiac disease and didn...
  15. Well I just read over your post and It sounds like exactly whats going on with me in many ways, for starters I went gluten free just over a month ago and I thought if anything my acne would improve but It has gotten worse than its ever been in years and I have tried to think of what may be causing it and the only thing that I have changed is going gluten...
  16. Hello I am trying to make Gluten free Fajitas, I have the gluten free wraps but I am wondering if it would be safe to use this old el paso seasoning mix, it looks ok to me but You can never be sure, here are the ingredients: Corn Starch, maltodextrin(made in Canada),hyrlolyzed corn and soy protein, sugar, salt, onion and garlic powder, spice, chili pepper...

  18. Hello Does anyone know if sushi would be ok for celiacs? I read somewhere that the sushi with the crab meat in it would not be ok, because most use imatiaion crab meat which is not safe. But what about Veggi sushi? If anyone knows please let me know, I really want to eat it. Thanks Krista
  19. Hello I have been gluten free since Mar 14-08, but I am sure I have been having some accidents since getting used to the new diet. I have always had acne but found in the last month my face has gotten extremely bad. I decided to do some investigation into the skincare and makeup I am using. I got this ingredient list from Maybelline but I find it so hard...
  20. Hi Ya'll I am relatively new to celiac and have only been gluten free for about 3 weeks now, but I just wanted everybody to know that I tried "La Messagere" which is a gluten free beer, in case you don't know. Surprisingly it is REALLY good, I almost like it better that regular beer. So if anyone is searching for a gluten free beer try "La Messagere" ...

  22. So I decided to write to a few companies and see what products they have that I can use since I am currently using alot of the makeup: I asked Cover Girl to list any products they had that contained gluten or any that were gluten free. Here is the response I got from Cover Girl: Here at P&G we know Celiac is a serious disease, so we want to give...
  23. Hi Just wanted to thank you for that response it is the most helpful information that I have came across as far as ingredients, I think I am well on my way now
  24. Hi there I have been recently diagnosed with Celiac and am trying to go gluten free. I read on here a lot about using gluten free skin care and hair care. I am wondering if it is really necessary to use gluten free products if the ingredients don't seem to have any gluten in them. Also with hair products like shampoo and conditioner they are just being...
