Hi! I am looking for a naturopathic doctor in my area. I live right outside of Philadelphia, and I am hoping someone could give me a good recommendation.
-
how do yo find a doctor like that?

Yes! I have a whole bunch of things bothering me. Joint muscle and headaches are the worst, and acne, weight gain and foggy headedness are bad too. What kind of symptoms did you have? How long did they take to go away after starting? What are your reactions like? What kind of foods did you start out with? Sorry for all the questions....I just really...

has anyone ever tried the eliminatiom diet? It looks hard and loooooooong! Going gluten free was no problem at all for me.....you can still have everything...just a bit differently. It seems like a good diet to try if you are having unexplainable symptoms, but it also seems like a pain in the a$$.

ARCHIVED "gluten Free" Items That "got You"
kimis replied to NorthernElf's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I just switched from unithroid to synhroid 25 mcg. I haven't been feeling that well lately, and it didn't even cross my mind it could be from that. I know armour is gluten free...but that is pretty hard to get a script for, and I hear it's on backorder. I would love to know what you come up with -

kimis replied to Avery'sMommy's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I have both celiac and hashimoto's. A few months after going gluten free I noticed the thyroid problems. Most people tend to have more than one autoimmune disease. -

kimis posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I can't take it anymore! I just want to find a gluten free, multi vitamin, multi mineral, natural, low iron vitamin. I would also like it if it was soy and dairy free -
It's the strangest thing...I have been gluten free for almost 2 years now, and I have had some accidents (some intentional) throughout that time. I never had any problems after eating gluten....my gut anyway. But the last two times I ate gluten I got sooooooooo sick. Now I am stessing over every little thing I eat...I was never scared before. I even think...

kimis posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I LOVE GLUTEN FREE CHOCOLATE CHEX!!!!!!!!!! and strawberry and cinnamon and honey nut and corn and rice GLUTEN FREE chex in the regular cereal isle. I think it is amazing how the gluten free world is coming along. Pretty soon we are going to have gluten free wheat and rye and barley.....okay maybe I'm going too far now, but this is still a great thing... -
I got back my last test results after being upped to 25mcg of unithroid and THS and T4 were normal. I went back to my Dr and told him to test my T3 cause I still didn't feel right. After he laughed he gave me the test.....He called last night to say my T3 is low. He said he didn't know what to do and to go see an endo. I tried looking up this info and...

you guys are awsome! These are the responses I was hoping for.....and all this info really helps me! Thanks for letting me pick your brains so often....I knew this would be a great place to ask a question.

I am looking at my lab slip for next week....my doc checked off THS and T-4 (thyroxine, free). Why would T-3 free be important....why wouldn't he test me for that? I am seeing an endo at the end of the week for a pituitary evaluation...I have a tumor on that gland that is growing.....yikes! I was suprised my pcp didn't refer me to an endo for the Hashimoto...

Hi.....I have trouble navigating myself around the thyroid sites....and I really want to talk to someone who has experience with hypothyroidism. I am so confused about the whole natural vs. synthetic issue. I have been reading so much conflicting info that I think my head is going to pop off! I also need some hope! Is there anyone who feels good on synthetic...

Hi everyone. I just got the results back from my MRI of my pituitary adenoma. Back in June I was suffering from a major headache.....to make a long story short....I had a 3mm tumor on my pituitary gland. Strangely enough my Dr said my headaches were not from this tumor, and the tumor would most likely be gone in a year. My MRI showed my tumor is now...

ARCHIVED Anyone With Rheumatoid Arthritis?
kimis replied to kimis's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I didn't know you could have an arthritis flare from being glutened. I have checked my meds and they are safe. I think doctors are clueless about Celiac Disease as a whole. Well, the ones I have spoken with. My sister is a pharmacist and she had no idea about gluten till I got dx. -
Hi Everyone! I'm starting to suspect I have RA due to various joint, bone and muscle pains. I did start taking Unithroid about 2 months ago....I don't know if that may have some effect. I think I remember reading it can make you lose bone mass or something. Any stories, suggetions or experiences you could share would be really helpfull to me...

ARCHIVED Vans Gluten Free Pancakes
kimis replied to kimis's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I'm not eating them anymore.......not because they bother me physically, but the whole thing bothers me mentally. Don't you think they should just use some other form of flavoring...like with chex. What if I eat the whole box in one day....would that bring me above 20ppm? HAHA...I wonder if I could eat a whole box of pancakes -
ARCHIVED Vans Gluten Free Pancakes
kimis replied to kimis's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Yes it says...GLUTEN FREE! I'm looking at it right now, and malt extract is in the ingredients. Maybe we know more than they do. There is also a section on the back of the box that talks about their gluten free promise, and that they test there products. Maybe it is a source of gluten, but it still falls below the 10 ppm. Is it 10 or 20? Like how benifiber... -
ARCHIVED Vans Gluten Free Pancakes
kimis replied to kimis's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Okay....The label for the pancakes lists malt extract. I will call monday to see what the deal with that is. That makes me mad...even if the sorce is gluten free thet should list what it is. By the way....the pancakes were good, but I usually make my own using arrowhead mills gluten free waffle mix.....and they come out wonderful!
