Shay it just so happens that the book is at the library so I have placed a hold on it. And keep in mind that MS is really a syndrome and MANY people who are dx MS later show no signs of the disease once they go on a gluten free diet and/or clear up their candida. I found I did have some flour to make this last night and it was yummy. I put some powdered sugar on it and shared it with my son who is not gluten free but has come to love everything I have made those far. He is always wanting what I make for myslef even though he has is own glutney foods in the house (haha). -

I just tried Vans frozen walffles now those I could be addicted to that would be my splurge. To me they taste like the ones I use to eat so at $3 a box I have to limit myself to 2 a week. But with stawberries and whip cream that is a hard thing to do. yummy

I am sorry I have to agree with larry mac 8 serving of anything in one day is enough to make anyone sick. Weather you had other foods to eat inbetween the serving or not. And I am no expert but if not is "It's no more milk than I drink in any given day" as you say that sure sounds like an awful lot of milk to me even if you have not problem with dairy.... -
My tummy was doing fine and then I ate and apple today and now I am feeling ill. My tummy is not happy with me at all it fills like it is alive and bloated. Wow thank you purple, you brought tears to my eyes, I love that verse. I truly am blessed and I consider it a blessing to find out that I have celiac disease and I am no longer poisioning my body. Sometimes I miss certian foods but it passes and I am learning how to cook things that are better tasting. (still looking for fluffy yummy pancakes ).

Yes there are days I feel like that and today was one of them. I deal with other illnesses also so today I had to get a 4 hour iv infusion for one and the nurse had a hard time finding the vain and since I have to do it again tomorrow she just let the cath in and it is in the top of my hand not a fun place. And to think I get to do this every month oh well...

Thank you all for your suggestions, I will call the retreat center today. To answer you question it is a womens church retreat with aprox. 200 women. If it is like others I have been on I know I will not be allowed to use the kitchen to cook my own food so we will see what happens.

I sit here now reading all these post and my stomach is killing me and I want to throw up. I know what I had for dinner was safe but 5 nights ago I got gluten for a braut I ate and I am still suffering. I am going on a Womens Retreat Weekend and I am a little nervous. I filled out a fourm letting them know that I can not have wheat, rye, barley oats, you know all gluten containing foods. Spelled out that I have Celiac Disease. Wheat and Gluten where on there list of food to check if you were allergic to I added rye, barley and oats to be on the safe side...

I wasn't thinking when my DH gave me a braut and I ate it until a little later I started getting sick. Low and behold it was a beer braut. What can I take to help my grumpy tummy and my wonderful D. And to think my hubby and I had the house to ourselfs tonight well I will be in bed but it will be alone.

I make my son and husband sandwhich and I don't seem to have a problem with it. I have my own mayo and butter but as far as touching regular bread no problem I just wash my hands after I am done. When making pancakes I only make gluten free that is the only flour I use any more. -

Beth, I guess I am on the same line you are. I am the only one in the family the it gluten free. My son and husband have their one bread, creal and snacks as do I and the two shall never meet. All the main meals we eat together are gluten free. As for the counter tops and dishes I an not to considerd with so far they have not been a problem. My family... -

I have had the new Rice Chex and had no problem with them has a matter of fact I made a yummy carmel coated rice chex mix with them was a big hit at a birthday party I went to. So I for one am happy with them. -

I hope you are doing better today Life with Celiac can be so draining on us both on our bodies and emotionally but we press on dont we. Luckly we have this awesome site to come to for support.
