ARCHIVED Is Beef Stew From Southgate Glutenfree?
stef-the-kicking-cuty replied to stef-the-kicking-cuty's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I'm thinking, there must have been something in it, cause I just napped for an hour and the headache is getting worse. It's so bad now, that I don't even have any power to research anything. Going to bed again. Hoping for the best. -
ARCHIVED Is Beef Stew From Southgate Glutenfree?
stef-the-kicking-cuty posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi there, I'm panicking right now. I have a slight headache, that started after eating Beef Stew from Southgate. It didn't say it had any wheat, rye, oats, or barley on the label, but that's the only thing I ate and I know for sure, that I'm not dehydrated. I was fine yesterday evening. Please, if anybody knows anything about the Beef Stew from Southgate... -
ARCHIVED Is Honey Kix Glutenfree?
stef-the-kicking-cuty replied to stef-the-kicking-cuty's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I could only find corn ingredients and I know, General Mills makes it. But other than that I don't know, if there's any hidden stuff in this. Does anybody else have a clue? Or did anybody on here eat it without any reactions? -
ARCHIVED Celiacs From The UK?
stef-the-kicking-cuty replied to Leper Messiah's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Wow, I had a bunch of really helpful answers. I'm gonna print out a map of that area and all the restaurants and supermarkets, that got suggested by our UK celiac friends. So cool! -
ARCHIVED Is Honey Kix Glutenfree?

Hi, I have a question. A friend gave me two Honey Kix boxes of cereal. I couldn't find anything questionable on the label, but just wanted to verify, if it's truely glutenfree. Thanks you, my friends -
ARCHIVED Celiacs From The UK?
stef-the-kicking-cuty replied to Leper Messiah's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
OK, I just posted the same message I posted here on the UK board. Let's see, who answers. I can update you then. I had another thought though. I have a ton of Chex Rice cereal at home. Thanks to WIC, who throws us dead with so much cereal, we can't eat it, we now have like 15 boxes here. I also have a bunch of different kind of nuts. So I was wondering... -
ARCHIVED Celiacs From The UK?
stef-the-kicking-cuty replied to Leper Messiah's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
That is a very good question indeed, that I already asked myself, but for some reason forgot to ask. What are the restrictions? I know, you can't bring meat into the US. Is there something similar for the UK? Because if there are no limitations, I just put some of the cans of fruit and tuna I have into my suitcase and some Mayo for the tuna. I could... -
ARCHIVED Need Advise On What To Say
stef-the-kicking-cuty replied to Alphawave's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
That is a good idea, but my son just turned 3, so no school for him yet for quite a while. I didn't go to the Worlds yet. It will be in two weeks. Yeah, and there is a webpage, that goes to most tournaments and films the events. It's called www.kickgen.com . They were in Spain with us last year and video taped me. Don't know, if they are coming with... -
ARCHIVED Celiacs From The UK?

I don't know, if this will be read in time or not. I need some professional help from celiacs living in that area. I am trying to locate something, anything, near my hotel, wear I can eat something glutenfree in Edinburgh. That can be a restaurant or a supermarket, but it needs to be in walking distance, because I don't have a car and I've never been in Edinburgh... -
ARCHIVED Need Advise On What To Say
stef-the-kicking-cuty replied to Alphawave's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I've been diagnosed for 6 years now and I have to say, that I'm really disappointed with some of the friends, that I thought were pretty good friends, too. As most of you know, I'm a German living in the US. I'm desperately trying to bring the German language closer to my son, to no avail I have to add... unfortunately. My disappointment now is, that most... -
ARCHIVED Issue With Tidying Up
stef-the-kicking-cuty replied to stef-the-kicking-cuty's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
OK, so I have to tell you, that FlyLady is absolutely cool. It so worked for me... that's why I haven't been here in months . I have 7 rooms out of our 9 rooms tidy and moved furniture around, so it looks better. The only thing, that I am NOT agreeing with is, that she apparently seems to think, that every woman (or man, if he's the cleaning person) can... -
ARCHIVED Leaving For Memphis Tonight!
stef-the-kicking-cuty replied to stef-the-kicking-cuty's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
Sorry, I was posting this so late. We left Memphis Sunday evening at about 9.30pm and arrived back in PA Monday afternoon at 3pm. Ever since then I was just busy, busy, busy I had all my hands full FLYing, training for the Worlds, writing down class plans and playing with my toddler. All I wanted to say is, if you're ever planning on visiting Memphis, most... -
ARCHIVED Airlines Providing gluten-free Meals

I have an issue here and might have missed it. But in October we're flying to Scotland for the World Championships and I have no choice but to fly with the plane that the National Team travels, or I will be dropped from the team. I just found out, that we are flying with Delta and KLM. I heard, that Delta dropped their glutenfree meals and that they don't... -

OK, here we go. Saw Bill Cosby yesterday. It was hilarious. Had breakfast this morning. I've had 1.5 hours making a plan. First we go to Graceland, then we'll go to the Public Earthquake Center (mainly cause it's free, lol), then the Rock'n'Soul Museum (which is on Beale Street), then the River Park to see the Mississippi up close (do they have alligators... -

Cool, we just arrived an hour ago. Tonight we will see Bill Cosby first. I so hope, that the show is not sold out yet We will have to see. We travelled 20 hours, so if we're still up for it, we will go to Beale Street tonight. Man, this place is fantastic. I did the secret hotel thingy on Travelocity. We have free HBO, free internet (apparently otherwise... -

Thank you, I'm glad, too. Here's another question. Do you know, if I can substitute Xanthan Gun for corn starch to thicken potatoe salad? I don't have corn starch anymore. Xanthan Gun frequently makes those little cubes, that won't dissolve, so any hints are greatly appreciated. I swear, it's the last question, lol. -

I will now finish my potatoe salad and do some research in the "free internet topic". Will let you know, what I came up with. Glad I'm enrolled at Ashworth College in private investigation... lmao . -

Cool! I'm getting sooooo excited. I'll definitely ask for the WalMarts. I wasn't sure, if WalMarts are EVERYWHERE over here, but it looks like they are. We just found out what hotel we're staying at. It's the Super 8 at the airport. We saw the pictures, it looks like we got a great deal. They have breakfast, refrigerator and nice swimming pool. We saw some... -

Aaargh! Bill Cosby is in Tunica, MS, about 40 minutes from the Elvis museum. THE Bill Cosby. I'd soooo love to see that. Holy Moly, besides Eddie Murphy, he's my all time favorite comedian. What do you think guys? Should we go??? A ticket is like $55 bucks. I know, my mom might not want to go (I don't even think, she knows, who I'm talking about), but maybe... -

And I think, you're right with the hotel not having a fridge possibly, cause it's so cheap. In that case, does anyone on here in that area know a WalMart or something? We could buy some steaks there and just hit a gas station with a microwave. Does anybody also know a gas station with a microwave? Cool beans, we're almost done with our planning. You can log... -

Oh, I forgot. We're starting off traveling down there around 6.30 or 7.30pm tonight. So if I don't need any sleep, then by the time we get to Memphis, the travel welcome center might still be closed. But you never know. And the way I know me, I'm probably going to sleep for a few minutes at a time, just to get more energy. So if the welcome center is open... -

We have a pretty no-brainer route down to Memphis. We will start out in Carlisle, PA, tonight (I'll give my last class there, before I leave). From there we take I-81 down South. That one goes through Maryland, West Virginia, and Virginia. It's basically always I-81 merged together with some other highways. Like after we entered Virginia it will be I-81 with... -

I found one of those "top secret" hotels on Travelocity. It's the Graceland Memphis Airport Hotel. They write on Travelocity, that this is only $32 dollars a night. What's the catch??? Are the taxes there higher? So there might be a higher tax on it, which wouldn't make it THAT cheap in the end? -
ARCHIVED Does Anyone Else Suspect Other People Have Celiacs?
stef-the-kicking-cuty replied to GlutenFreeManna's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Holy Cow, GlutenFreeManna, did you just write about my life, or what? Grandmother intestinal cancer, mother breast cancer, both of them gut issues. Diabetes and thyroid issues are in the family also. I even have a cousin with MS, who said, she already tried the glutenfree diet and "it wouldn't work". I do not know her personally very well, but my mother told...
