    ARCHIVED Austin Tx

Hi Texas, I found a few restaurants that are gluten free in Austin. Hopefully these will help you! Carino's Italian Grill 7500 Rialto Blvd, Building One, Suite 250 Austin, Texas 78725 512-263-0800 www.carinos.com Carrabba's Italian Grill (2 locations) 11590 Research Blvd. Austin, Texas 78759 (512) 345-8232 6406 N. I-H 35 Austin, Texas...
  2. Anyone? Or is my question really really dumb?
  3. I can't seem to figure out how to create categories for my blog posts. I've looked all though my blog settings and just can't seem to find a place to add categories. Can someone help me?
  4. I feel a little dumb asking this, as I've found many posts listing the tests involved in the Celiac Panel (Antigliadin IgA and IgG, Anti-tissue Transglutaminase Antibody (tTG), IgA and IgG, Anti-endomysial (EMA) IgA and IgG,Total serum IgA), but I'm wondering if there are additinal tests I should be asking for that might help give some clues as to what's...
  5. What a crock. I certainly would boycott them (if I was using them). I dropped mainstream cosmetics for minerals. Check out that Everyday Minerals thread, but be aware that there are a ton of smaller mineral makeup companies, several of which have confirmed to me that they are indeed, gluten free.
  6. I don't personally have any advice, but I wanted to offer some support as I am dealing with the same thing. I haven't even been diagnosed yet, but in trying to discuss this with my husband, I get the same type of response from him. He hasn't done all the research himself, and me telling him about it isn't good enough. It's just that he doesn't understand...
  7. This sounds really yummy!

    Day 4

Interesting. I have been told that even being off gluten for a full week could be enough to skew blood test results, depending on how much damage there is in the intestines and how quickly your body begins to heal it. I do know about the DNA testing and that it doesn't require a gluten challenge, but I was concerned that my insurance wouldn't pay for...

    ARCHIVED Austin Tx

Hi texas, I can't help with restaurants, but would be interested to know too, as I travel there from time to time myself (from Dallas). I know there are lots of good ones, but as far as gluten free, no clue. As health concious as Austin seems to be, I bet there are a few. I'll do some asking around of my family members that are there, and if I come...
  10. juliem, They have a 'Live Chat Support' listed on their website that's open M-F 8am-5pm, but I didn't see any way to access that. Odd. I think the Feedback link is their email support, as it has options for Feedback, General & Issues. I'll see if I can track down an email address for you on their Delphi Forum (if it's still active - haven't been...

    Day 4

I felt better today than I have in years. My mind was clear and I could actually concentrate on something for more than a few minutes. Absolutely no gas or cramping, and I had more energy too. The only kink in the chain today was that Auntie Flo is in town so I had my usual back cramps and a slight headache. I had bad night sweats again last night, despite...
  12. juliem, I do believe that email is the only way to get in touch with Everyday Minerals.
  13. I use Open Original Shared Link products. I've had cystic acne for the last five or six years, and this stuff is the only thing I've found that works to help clear it up. I use their Cranberry Cleanser (it is scented, but all natural ingredients), their Fruit Enzyme Scrub (for exfoliation), and the Fruit Enzyme Mist (toner). Not cheap products, but they...
  14. Marleigh, Take what I say with a grain of salt, as I am not a diagnosed celiac, but I do suspect that's what's wrong with me. Your symptoms sound a whole lot like mine, only I go the opposite way with the weight (lost a bunch and can't gain). Alternating constipation and diarrhea, gas and bloating (esp after eating). I too seem to have problems with...
  15. Being gluten free seems to be helping with my issues. I felt pretty good today. No stomach cramping or bloating, just a bit of C - but I actually went to the bathroom today, and that's a major accomplishment sometimes! (Ok, TMI, but pretty much everyone here goes through this, right?) After doing some more research here, I've realized that my cystic acne...
  16. elonwy, I don't know that it's so much that he needs to 'get over himself' but I think he doesn't understand that celiac disease is REAL, and that my whining and complaining for the last six years may actually have a cause. I haven't shared much of my research with him, as he thinks I'm a 'self diagnoser'. Seeing that he has ADD and had to lay it...
  17. Katsby, even your 'iffy' biopsy wasn't sufficient? Wow. I am guessing you didn't stay quiet about the fact that on a gluten-free diet you felt much better? And I'm guessing the doctor's didn't listen? Ursa Major - I don't know if my dh would believe the Enterolab results or not, as they don't specifically say 'celiac disease' correct? But at least...
  18. I was certainly surprised that after only three days I'm feeling positive changes. I don't *want* to gluten myself again, but for the sake of possibly getting a positive diagnosis, I think I can put myself through it for a while longer. I've felt pretty bad for the last six years or so, but I know that there are others here who have had a way worse time...
  19. I have many of the classic symptoms that I've read about here (bloating, lower intestinal cramping, irritability, anxiety, depression.......a very long list). I started a gluten-free 'trial' diet three days ago to see if not eating gluten would make me feel better.......and so far so good. Cramping & bloating has decreased substantially, my brain doesn...
  20. curlyfries, thanks for the welcome! I've been reading tons of old threads too, and I suppose I should be saving the information as well! Maybe you should make copies of your binder for sale. J/K!
  21. Thanks jerseyangel and lizard00! I'm still reading and reading and reading and trying to absorb all of this new information, but I will most certainly be asking question soon! Thanks again all!
  22. I don't know that I'm necessarily allergic, but raw bananas (by themselves, in smoothies, etc) give me a stomach ache. If they've been cooked, I seem to do fine with them. Thanks for posting this link!
  23. Thanks for the welcome, Momma Goose. I guess that's kind why I'm here, for the hand holding. LOL I've felt like I've been enduring all of this by myself, since I don't *look* sick, I just feel sick most of the time. I do already feel pretty at home here, because I see myself in so many of the posts written here. Hopefully I can keep learning about...
  24. I'm fairly new here, and I found this website while looking for answers to my own issues. There are enough posts here that sound eerily familiar to my own situation that I felt the need to sign up and participate here. I'm undiagnosed, but fresh into a gluten-free diet (this is day 3) to see if helps - and so far, so good. It's great to see a...
  25. I thought I would add some reviews of the gluten free items I try. I know there are other blogs out there that do this, such as Open Original Shared Link (and they seem to do an excellent job) but I thought I would do this just in case there are any other people out there that have 'texture issues' like I do. (If you don't know what that means, then I'm guessing...
