  1. Mine does it too, on a regular basis (I'm not gluten free - yet). My family members say things like "the aliens are talking again" or "are you hungry already?" (just depends on who it is). The most horrifying incident was when I was in a staff meeting, and my boss finished talking about one subject, and was in that dead silence before beginning the next...
  2. I received a coupon for Enjoy Life products in the mail today - my mom sent it to me, and I'm not sure where she got it. I wonder if you hit some of your favorite brands websites if you could find them there? Just a thought!
  3. Thought I'd fix your link, so anyone interested can go straight to the story. Open Original Shared Link
  4. leadmeastray - Precisely the reason I haven't just started the gluten-free diet yet, in case they screwed up and didn't do all the tests. I'm sorry you went through this too - I hope the diet is working for you. lizard00 - Uhm........sort of (PCP recommending the GI)..........my PCP was on vacation, so I saw another doc in the office, and THAT doc referred...
  5. I had a follow up with my GI doc today............ We talked about test results, and he says everthing is normal. I asked about the high levels of Hemoglobin, Hematocrit and MCV from my first round of blood tests, and he said that all that means is that my red blood cells are larger than normal, but that it's probably not anything to worry about. ...
  6. Call them up and ask why they didn't do the whole panel, and then calmly but assertively request that they do the rest of the tests. I'm right there with ya.........on my way out the door to the doc's office now..........good luck!

    ARCHIVED Chili's

YAY! Glad you found it! I mentioned it in my PM after you told me you were going there, but ya beat me to it! Let us know how your dinner goes!
  8. Shoot me a PM - I might be able to help.
  9. You're welcome! I hope it's what you're looking for!
  10. I just read that iodine may be an issue for DH suffers, potentially causing flares. So my guess would be that if you don't suffer from DH, then it's probably ok. If you *do* suffer from DH, then I think I'd be switching! HTH
  11. Hi Chrissy! I used to live in CoS, so I thought I'd see if I could help! I did a search, and found this. Open Original Shared Link Looks like they have a gluten free dinner club, and regular monthly meetings. The next meeting is scheduled for Aug 9 Good luck!
  12. When you pick up your printed copies of your lab results, look at them - I mean go over them with a fine tooth comb. My Celiac Panel came back negative, and then I discovered that they only ran one blood test, not all five. They also said everything else was normal - and in reality it wasn't. Test results indicated possible B12/Folic Acid deficencies...
  13. I just saw a commercial last night (haven't yet checked it out) for a new Neutrogena product called Skin ID. Sounds like a god-send for those of us that still suffer with acne. Anyone know anything about this stuff? Interestingly enough, it looks as though it's only available by mail order, and I'm not seeing an ingredients list anywhere on the website...
  14. Wow. As I was reading this, I thought maybe I had written it and forgotten. You sound a whole like me, except for the gall bladder part. That and after my MRI for the head aches for six weeks straight, my doc didn't prescribe me a thing, or even suggest a follow up visit. I have no real advice, as I'm still going through testing myself to see if we can...
  15. I'm sure someone else will chime in here............ Curiosity got the better of me so I went to their website (www.arrowheadmills.com). They do have a bunch of gluten free items, but according to the site, they are labeled as such - and I didn't see cold breakfast cereals listed there. So I checked out the puffed rice, and it's ingredients say exactly...
  16. Oooh, I maybe can help here! Do you like oatmeal? Many say that oats should also be cut out of a gluten-free diet, but you could try Bob's Red Mill Oatmeal. Or if you want a rice substiture, I've tried Rice & Shine (with a little brown sugar......yum!) and Mighty Tasty Hot Cereal (Bob's Red Mill). Both are excellent. Cold cereals......the...
  17. Hi Vickie, I might be able to help with the makeup question. Open Original Shared Link is Austin based (or close, anyway). But I do not believe they have an actual store that you can walk into. However, you don't have to purchase by credit card, you can contact them for details on paying by check. Or you might even explain your situation to them, and...
  18. ravenwoodglass - I agree with you, for the most part, about the endoscopy not being done while I was in for the colonoscopy. I'm irked that I'll have to do all this a second time (hopefully without MoviPrep for the endo?). But in the doc's defense (or mine for not bringing it up with him?) I think he was more concerned about ruling out Chron's and/or Ulcerative...
  19. It was great talking to you too! You need to get really good at this gluten free thing so you can give ME pointers once I start it up again! LOL I'm gonna go pick up the book tomorrow so I can psych myself up for starting the diet again once I'm done with all my stupid tests. Hope tomorrow is another successful day for you!
  20. Jess sent me a text message with a picture of her gluten free creation, and it looked REALLY yummy! Thanks for posting the recipe, girlie! One more recipe to add to my arsenal when I can finally restart the diet myself!
  21. Glad to know the diet has helped you! Once I can get the rest of the celiac disease blood tests (and possible endoscopy) out of the way, I think I'll start the gluten-free diet again and see how I do for a few months at least.
  22. TrilliumHunter - I will add those to my growing list of things to ask for! I'm pretty sure my iron levels were tested in November, but again, I don't have copies of that blood work, so I can't be 100% sure of what the results were. UrsaMajor - I really wondered about the parasites........the hubster and I took a quick trip to Mexico in summer of '...
  23. Do you think it would be worthwhile to ask for an endoscopy, then? Along with the rest of the blood work, of course. When he told me "we won't call it IBS until we rule out everything else" I got the impression that he also feels that IBS isn't a valid diagnosis, though didn't question him about it. I'll check the yellow pages to see if I can find...
  24. Jess, Thanks for replying, girl! I'm not sure I believe in muscle testing, but I have read many accounts from people here that it seemed to be accurate. I'd certainly consider it if I don't get anywhere with PCP and the GI. How would one go about finding a Naturopath? If I decide to go that route, I mean.
  25. Doc didn't say anything about endoscopy. Even though during my initial visit with him, I alluded to the fact that I thought this was gluten related, he just scheduled the colonoscopy. What he said to me was "we won't call it IBS until we rule out everything else." (A previous doc dx'd me with IBS without even doing any tests.) Said he was running a Celiac...
